Does anyone have a bundt pan I can borrow for this weekend? We're doing an early Thanksgiving with Chad's family, and I don't want to buy it for one day out of the year :-D
Lemme know! I could steal it from you tomorrow at Bible Study :-D
That's okay, I think I'll remember. I'll go set it by the stairs right now so I think to take it with me. I'll leave my cell phone number in private on here for you for future reference. ;)
It's been awhile. I should probably update and since I feel like I can't even distinguish one day from the other since I've posted last, I've decided to add pictures of our condo.
Behold our Living Room. Note that this photo was taken around my birthday, so my cupcake decorations can be seen dangling from the track lighting, and my name can be seen dangling on the sliding door. No, this is not how I decorate on a normal day. When Chad's birthday comes around it's even more ridiculous. I love birthdays.
Another view of the Living Room.
There's been a slight change here. We bought a long bookcase at IKEA (all hail IKEA) that is now along the backside of the couch. It's espresso in color and matches the leather on the couch perfectly. It's the same height as our couch, acting as a table for drinks, and flowers Chad brings home, etc. It ends where the leather ends. There are square cubby holes and it's very lovely. I couldn't be more pleased :-D
The Room of Dining
A shelf is being shipped that will go above that wee black bookcase. "HOME" will be sitting on the new shelf when we get it. It's black. It matches.
The Kitchen
I've never liked electric stoves... until I met this one. It's marvelous. Our dishwater won the buff award, of that I am certain. And our fridge tries to win my affection by being the best fridge I've ever laid eyes on. The microwave could probably cook a turkey. It, too, is buff.
The Magical Place of Sleepy Time
I was really worried that our stuff wouldn't fit in the bedroom. We don't have a lot of stuff, but it's just big. Everything we have tends to be big. That big ol' King Bed (it was free...we slept on a full for a year and a half) and that massive dresser (that I mooched from my best friend years ago) make a small room cower. The room holds the bed, dresser, and nightstand (which you can't see) perfectly! Really, we've had wonderful luck with the condo and it seems like it was measured and painted for all of our belongings.
My Birthday Cake. I love Birthday Cake (it's a proper noun in my book) so much that I need you to see my frosting it.
Yum.
I just realized how much has gone on since I posted last. Good news first...CORY GOT A JOB IN WILSONVILLE! HAPPY DANCE!!! Cory will be moving up here the weekend of November 15 and Jenn will come the following weekend/week. They're in the process of looking to buy a condo, but there aren't too many options right now, so we're going to have them stay in our guest bedroom until they can find a place. They'll put their stuff in storage. I'd much rather them save money not paying rent and being crowded than having a hard time getting on their feet. I'd LOVE if they could live just down the street or some place close. It'd be PERFECT! Jenn and I haven't lived in the same town since we both moved out for college (2004), and although that hasn't been an extremely long time, it's been the period of our lives that have had the most changes. We've graduated college, been married for a couple years (they're coming up on 3), and just grown up in general. In Arizona, we only lived an hour and a half apart, so it really wasn't too bad and we saw each other often. It'll be nice to be close again!!
I put my two week notice in at Starbucks. I miss Chad.
I've been sick more in the last two weeks than I usually am in a year. I won't go into detail, but it hasn't been pleasant.
I'm dreaming of Christmas trees. And taco soup. Chad just heated some up for me....that's my cue...
I am so happy that he got the job! That so wonderful news!! I love the house too. You have such a beautiful home. I am glad you were able to find a way to spend more time with Chad. If anyone understands how that is, it is me!
What a beautiful home! You looked very moved in and cozy there. Glad you'll be getting to spend more time with Chad, and yay for your sister moving up here!! :)
I love how you've fixed up the condo...not that it even needed it too much, it was so cute to begin with! It looks so comfy and cute. I'm so glad you're loving it.
Great news about your sister and BIL, that will be fun for you guys. Lots of young couples at Beaverton, love that!
Well if I can, sure. The days that I go to school are Monday,Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Between monday-thursday, I get off school around 4:40ish, and on Saturday, I get off at 3:20. does any of the time jive with yours? if so, I might be able to do it.
Ugh. 4am?! I didn't even know they were open that early. You looked great - I would never have known you'd been up for so long! I bet you'll be glad to see the last of those shifts pretty soon! :)
Aloooha! It's time to hang Ben's Bells. The Board has decided that October 11 is the day to do one of our distributions this year, and after asking people for a good meeting spot (I didn't like that park last year - there was no parking), I hear that Abernethy school (2421 SE Orange Ave. in Portland) is a good spot. HOWEVER, now that I sent out an email - a lady said that it has huge grounds and people might have a hard time finding me. Ugh. Without a studio that people are willing to drive to, we'll just have to deal. But, you know what? I'm going to try it out. I've never been there, but I'm going to find what looks like the normal parking lot, and people can meet me at 9:00 AM (I'm leaving the lot at 9:20) if you want a bag of Bells to hang. I can't pass them out before Saturday - sorry!
Come help spread kindness! I'd like an idea of how many I should expect, so lemme know.
And...Saturday is my birthday. I love my birthday.
^Yup - dates are never good for everyone ;-P The Board gets to pick a few, then I get to pick whichever works here best. Sorry we're a week early! Maybe next time!
I ended up with a 10am appointment. :( If you have some bells left over, I'll be happy to take some and hang them. Do they need to be hung in the same area where you'll be tomorrow?
What musical piece is that playing in the dolphin video on my blog today? I wish I had the whole recording. It is so much pushing my relax button today!
Absolutely, it sounds really good too, it is in our direction a ways, so you're welcome to crash at our house in the afternoon if you don't want to go all the way home between services.
1. I've played the violin for 12 years, and my favorite song to play is Ashokan Farewell in a room that echoes.
2. I'm a sucker for fantasy books.
3. I love shoes, but I hate spending money on them. At the same time, if we could go around barefoot, that may be part of my Utopia
4. I could move to Hawaii or Scotland in a heartbeat.
5. I competed in Odyssey of the Mind in grade school and high school. My team made it to World Competetion 3 times, but either the Chinese teams or the Japanese teams killed us. See...our goal was to make it to Worlds for the fun trip. Their goal was to win :)
6. Sparkles make me smile.
7. I feel like my birthday has a distinct smell. Oddly, it smells of chocolate cake.
8. Sometimes, I think it'd be awesome to be able to walk into a book.
I tag......ummmm.... CHAD, Amanda, Julie, Lori, Kiki, Monique, Jamie, and Crystal.
Fact 9: I'm doing tis on my phone ans it may be many moons til I can notify my victims that they've been tagges as we'rein the middle of the move.
If we still live near one another when I die, I want you to play Ashokan Farewell at my funeral. Sorry for being morbid, but I'm serious. It is "try not to cry" beautiful.
Haha, 7 is awesome. I am the same on #3. Until the pavement burned my feet, most of the time I would play outside barefoot. Have fun moving, we'll commiserate/celebrate with you Sunday. :)
yes, you'll have to teach me.the inspiration for this was, at burger king once i saw a bunch of teenagers who were deaf.i wished that i could talk to them but i couldn't.all i can say is "hi" "thank you/you're welcome" "chocolate" and i can spell my name.:)
Woo hoo, if we have time the short time I am in there in Nov. we should get pedis. together! We probably wont have time but if we do :) My day was lots of fun!!!!
Very cute! Wish we could have come for Ben's Bell's - I want to do that so badly! I liked hanging them and everything, but I bet the painting is more fun! We had plans already on Saturday. :(
This Sat should work. I think Carrie works, but I'll ask her. What time is it? Is this in that first email you sent out ages ago? I should go find it. :)
