Thank you for the information. I am just not sure what to expect. I think I took it a bit for granted that our other three children were healthy and didn't have any issues. I hope your little one will continue to improve.
wow! i found you accidently!!! hope all is going well! sorry we haven't got together yet...seems someone is always sick and i know Molly doesn't need us around! let's try again after thanksgiving!
Molly was born Tuesday, July 29 at 12:54 PM. She weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz. and was 19 inches long. Emma loves her dearly, but Clayton is not quite as excited about the new addition. He has adjusted quite well to Grandma being here and taking care of him.
We came home on Thursday. I am feeling much better than I did after Emma and Clayton were born, but it will take some time before I'm back to normal. Molly is sleeping about normal for a newborn (up every 3 hours to eat and sometimes awake between feedings). Who knows when we'll ever see a full night of sleep again (not like we have had very many since Clayton was born).
In 4 days we will become a family of 5. That's hard to believe because I never really adjusted to being a family of 4. We are scheduled for a C-section sometime Tuesday.
As with our other 2 children, I don't allow anyone to wait at the hospital. I enjoy having the first couple of hours without any family or friends around. Then the first guests allowed in my room are our kids and whoever brings them (always my parents and Kristi). After that I'm ready to share our new little bundle with the world. Sounds crazy I know, but so far everyone has been respectful of my wishes. I figure since I am the one going through childbirth, I should be able to set the rules.
My parents and Kristi arrive tomorrow evening. Mom is staying 5 weeks to help out. I can't imagine trying to recuperate without her help. She takes over the cooking, cleaning, childcare, and laundry so I can rest every minute possible. I also get to enjoy some extra time with her that I miss living so far away. Don't be fooled, there's still plenty to keep Richard busy when he's not working.
Emma is getting excited about her baby sister. Poor Clayton has no idea how his life is about to change.
I'm sure Kristi will post pictures on her blog and possibly mine as soon as she can.
Of course I only have two, so I have no idea about the adjustment to three. David's mother said that the biggest adjustment was from one to two and as you know she had five.
It was quite an ordeal but worth it! Thanks to my husband for making the remodel possible and my parents for putting the finishing touches on my house last week: hanging pictures, cleaning, cleaning out flower beds and planting flowers, tiling the kitchen backsplash, and numerous other small things. Kristi spent quality time with the kids, ran errands for me and helped wash all the baby clothes.
All of this just in time for the arrival of baby #3 on July 29. I can now spend the next 2 1/2 weeks doing basic cooking, cleaning and laundry. This should seem like a vacation after the past 7 weeks of unpacking, remodeling, and putting things in order.
I'll post more pictures of the house in the next few days.
Love the after, ya'll made it look much better. I didn't realize that your due date was so close, glad you can slow down a little, hope everything goes well.
I desperately needed chocolate today! I hit my breaking point today. Richard was in Houston. Emma told me I needed a nap, and she would watch Clayton while I took one. Several times I caught her trying to help with little things she knew needed to be done. What a little sweetheart!
So we moved Memorial Day weekend. My advice:
Don't move when you are 6 1/2 months pregnant...have 2 children under age 5...your most desired help is 14 hours away...and your kitchen remodel is not complete.
Our kitchen cabinets were delivered 3 1/2 days after moving in. The cabinet company called at 8:30 PM on Tuesday and wanted to deliver them the next day. The problem: the cabinets were being put in a room already full of boxes. We were scrambling to get things rearranged. It's like walking through a maze to get from our bedroom to the kids' bedrooms.
The kitchen remodel has taken on a life of its own with 2 or 3 serious complications. However, after 2 weeks without a kitchen I will finally have cabinets installed this weekend. Hopefully, the countertop will be done by next weekend, and our house can start to function normally again.
I'll post pictures as soon as things are presentable.
We moved from Louisville to Alabama when Dathan was 3 months old and looking back now I don't see how I did it, of course it helped that I was a lot younger back then. Hope things soon settle down for ya'll and you can enjoy your new home.
