They are tearing up the sidewalk and street literally right in front of my bedroom window.
For some reason they like to work at midnight for a while, while they shine a huge spotlight in my face, and then come back at 8AM to do some concrete drilling as loudly as possible.
I also find it ironic and a little troublesome that they are meant to be fixing a supposed "GAS LEAK" and as they are standing over the huge hole they made, they are SMOKING and flickin' around their cigarettes. I am not an employee of Laclede Gas, but I think I am a person with at least a little common sense.
Speaking of little common sense, I did finally get my engagement ring off the wrong finger. Some of you already know the story, and if you don't, that's good for me. :)
I know it's not a new song, but I really love "Viva la Vida" by Coldplay. I got my mom that CD for Christmas.. she really likes them.
But anyway, when I paid attention to it, I found the lyrics really heartening.. The tyrannical king realized how wicked and power hungry he'd become, and ended up feeling remorseful for it. But that was after the revolutionaries took him down. But yeah, it's a good song. Nominated for a grammy I believe.
Saw Marley & Me. Pretty sad, but I still miss having a dog. Dogs are by far the best pets.
This winter is the coldest I remember it being for a looong time.
What's new with me:
-I'm job hunting, and fairly sure I'll probably be
working as a special ed assistant for a few months.
-I'm dog sitting, making a little money off that.
Plus, I want a puppy of my own soooo bad.
-I'm engaged!!, but that's probably old news now.
Just thought I should officially post it!
It was amazing, the ring is amazing, my fiance is amazing... :)
-Speaking of which, Dan just left St. Louis yesterday after visiting for a while.
I don't think he likes the cold very much.
-Other than that, I'm ready for Christmas!!! I want a puppy.
It's not the most popular topic right now, but I have to write about it anyway...!
Looks like I'm finally approaching the end of my college career,
and frankly I don't really think I'm ready for it.
I would stay in college a few more years... if I could afford it
and if I could take whatever classes I wanted. I've loved my time in college.
I know I'm going to miss it.. a lot. Who wants to grow up?
Well along with leaving college, it looks like I'll be leaving y'alls beloved Texas.
At least for a while.. who knows how long or where life will take me.
But at least for now I am leaving, going back to my Missouri and enjoying being home for a while.
Personally, I'm not a fan of life's big transitions. It means you have to leave one thing behind for another.
"People always say that change is a good thing. But what that really means is that something you didn't want to happen, has happened."
That's a movie quote. Do you know what movie? :)
Come visit me in Missouri! I'll be back for graduation.
I suppose it's possible, but these idle thoughts only serve to distress the weaker sex. Come, let us enjoy some distraction lest she come to regret her decision. WHEN ARE YOU AND DAN RETURNING?
"It's a mistake to think that poor people get the benefit from the welfare system.
It's a total fraud. Most welfare go to the rich of this country:
the military-industrial complex, the bankers, the foreign dictators, it's totally out of control.
This idea that the government has services or goods that they can pass on is a complete farce.
Governments have nothing. They can't create anything, they never have.
All they can do is steal from one group and give it to another
at the destruction of the principles of freedom, and we ought to challenge that concept."

"You can't save free markets by socialism, I don't know where this idea ever came from. You save free markets by promoting free markets and sound money and balanced budgets. The whole reason why nobody wants to address the real problem is, we're spending a trillion dollars a year overseas running an empire, and it's coming to an end. This country is bankrupt, and we won't admit it. Eventually though, the dollar will go bust, and we will bring our troops home, and we will live within our means. But we ought to do it sensibly, rather than waiting for the collapse of the dollar. And this is what we're doing.. we're on the verge of destroying our dollar. And then, you think we have problems now, problems then will be a lot worse. It'll look like the Weimar Republic, or a third world nation. And a lot of people know that, and they're scared to death, but we don't need to be making the problem worse by just propping up everything with more government programs, more inflation, and more helicopters, it won't work."
Are people starting to believe him yet?
