Hey I know what you mean. I drove down the night before with Cassie, her boyfriend, the dogs, and all the food stuff for Thanksgiving and we were locked out of the house! Thankfully I had a camper key so we unloaded everything and stayed in there that night. Not the boyfriend, he went home. lol. But it was FREEZING that night and we didn't have a heater in the camper. So we had a mini adventure the night before Thanksgiving. And then I cooked most of the day for Thanksgiving as well. I barely got to watch the parade. And I love the parades! It reminds me of when we were little and everyone would be together. *Tear* I MISS YOU GUYS!! And Billy too, he's one of us now! hahahaha!
I should be ready for thanksgiving but I spent the weekend in and out of the ER with my sister Amanda. They wouldn't give her a strong enough perscription and she was in terrible pain, finally they got her better on the last ER viist at 2am-6am monday morning. She's back at work today, feeling alot better but not great either. Me and Billy had no sleep over the weekend and needless to say I didn't get to clean my house or decorate or anything. So I'm now stuck after work today running to walmart with all the lazy people who waited till the last minute, the day before thanksgiving is the WORST time to go to the store!!! :( At least I got the turkey a couple weeks ago :) I'm just glad they finally helped Amanda, and we all made it through one of the worst weekends I can remember....Not to mention I had really wanted to go to my granparnts and my cousins house for thanksgiving (esp. since it's mine and Billy's first Thanksgiving as a married couple.) but it just wasn't in the budget. I feel like I'm always saying "maybe next year" :( But REALLY, next year we are going to AL for ATLEAST thanksgiving or christmas!!!
Oh and since Me and Billy are just starting out, I'd love it if people would share their Thanksgiving or ANY holiday traditions :D
We too were in the same circumstances last year. And we very nearly stayed home this year as well. We just invited Caroline and Emily Craig over and between the four of us it still felt like Thanksgiving! It can still be fun! It'll be a good memory!
Sorry about the bad weekend. Tell Amanda I said to get better!!!
Tim and I haven't exactly started any traditions yet. We've been bouncing the holidays between our parents... who don't have traditions except games. :) ONCE we did go around the table saying what we were thankful for... but that was once and it was before I was married....
O.o How did I not know this about Amanda?? This is what I get for NEVER getting on here anymore, or calling, or texting. I'm writing you a letter, that's what I'll do!
I wore flippflops to work, (opps :) So I'm trying not get up from my desk so the sup won't see.
Anyway on a more seriouse note, I've been hearing on the news about the gays/ gay rights people protesting against the churches. a few months ago it happend really close to home. At the university c.o.c they were preaching on homosexuality and people wote really crude things on the cars, thankfully they didn't use anything perminate and it all washed off as far as I heard.
People are really freaking out about obama winning, but If he hadn't gotten the blacks out to vote the gay marraige probably would have won, it was mainly the black turn out that turned the gay rights down (I heard that from fox news). So even if you really don't like Obama that is something to be very thankful for!!! It is really scary how they are calling christians "Haters" and saying "Stop the Hate" Ironic since it appears some churches were burned by them (I think it was two churches I heard it listening to fox news). I heard Drew Barrymore when she was with them prostesting in NY. I won't be going to see her movies. I know most of hollywood is libral but she was one of them storming that church in new york saying "stop the hate"
i was wondering why they killed the husband off too?? what did next weeks preview show??? that is really sad about university...i had no idea. how is married life??
haha, hope your sup. didn't hear your flip flops! ;)
I hate that about the vandalism. Tim and I don't have tv so we don't get to watch tv like I'd like to. ... I hate to hear that about Drew Barrymore and burning of the church. It's horrible what things are coming to, but we have to keep strong. ... I can't imagine it getting worse, but I'm sure it HAS been worse before. I keep thinking on Noah and what it must've been like for him and his family... being the ONLY people that were faithful to God. He wouldn't have been heard at all....
Buh, I hate hypocrites! They call us haters and then they go and do something like that, honestly! You don't see us running in with flame throwers and engulfing their civil unions in flames do you?
