CHRISTIAN WAYS TO REDUCE STRESS
Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice.
1. Pray
2. Go to bed on time.
3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.
4. Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health
5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
6. Simplify and unclutter your life.
7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)
8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.
9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.
10. Take one day at a time.
11. Separate worries from concerns . If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety. If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it .
12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.
13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.
14 K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.
16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.
17. Get enough rest.
18. Eat right.
19. Get organized so everything has its place.
20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.
21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.
22. Every day, find time to be alone with God.
23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.
24. Make friends with Godly people.
25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.
26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good "Thank you Jesus."
27. Laugh.
28. Laugh some more!
29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.
30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).
31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).
32. Sit on your ego.
33. Talk less; listen more.
34 Slow down.
35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.
36 Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for tha t you've never been grateful for before. GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU. "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)
Hey summer! I don't know if you really remember me or not, but I got on here for the first time in a while, saw you'd made a recent post, came and checked it out and must say I'm glad I did. Some times small stuff like those little bits of advice can help a lot with stuff, so thanks! Hope all is well!
37 - come to Scotland and visit me!:) I am so excited about your trip. Jared is still traveling the UK and will be back in Aberdeen on Saturday evening. I'm sure he has come up with a lot of fun things to do while you are here. Have you downloaded Skype? Love ya!
Did you sing The Lord's Army in Bible class yesterday? Jackson has been singing it practically non-stop and we thought maybe he heard it in class? He sang it at VBS a few weeks ago, so we were curious what triggered it out of the blue yesterday? So cute!
Hi Summer - the student working with me next semester is Aerial Johnson. Do you know her? I'm excited to have another student. I hope you have a great semester-where did you tell me you are going to be?
For another week and a half that is. WOO HOO I just took my last final. Don't know how I did. But Matt is pretty amazing. THANK YOU! Not sure WHY you enjoy history so much, but I am glad you do. I'm done with all my basics except two classes...and one of those happens to be another history...so be ready Matt! I'm putting those off for another year or so though.
ATLANTA HERE I COME!!! Saturday at 6 AM a bunch of students will pile into two vans and road trip it to GA! We'll be serving many many people in need over there, so pray for my group that we stay safe, help people, and praise God in the process! This has been a much needed get away for me lately so I am extremely excited to leave and put stresses at home behind me!
Mommy's birthday is Saturday. I'll be going to Atlanta. My dad will be leaving the country. But we're having her birthday dinner Friday night instead at Taste of Texas. MMM.
Get to see my Sarah tonight before I leave for Atlanta. Happiness.
I'm trying to make a longer than normal post because I never post and for once I have the time. Ummmm I'm going to clean and watch TV today. I want to take Cali on a run but that means I'll have to take another shower and who wants to do that? Yes, I'm lazy.
That wasn't all that interesting. Sorry.
Our kickball game will most likely be canceled tonight. It is supposed to rain and storm through the evening. Actually...now that I think of it I hope it gets canceled because I just made other plans and totally forgot about the game. oops.
I'm hungry already. I'm going to scrounge for food.
Awesome! I wish I could have donated mine, but it was way too damaged from coloring it too much. They had to cut several inches off before they could do my highlights b/c they were afraid my hair would break off!
it's either that or i receive prophetic utterances because i bet lunch on that game and made the comment to someone that i'm really gonna run up a tab on these UT-a&m games if i'm not careful. sure enough, i now owe someone lunch for the football game (November) and yesterday's game.
It's nice that Houston actually has a winning team.
30, 972 was the attendance tonight. Largest in Dynamo history.
Here we come New England.
May history repeat itself November 18th.

And that's why we're the best.
2 seasons as a team and 2 championships.
They deserve more publicity than they get.
Now, do we get 10 percent off our season tickets for next year?!
why didn't you share with me the flat iron style of de-wrinkling sooner instead of letting me suffer all these years with an iron... or wrinkles??? :-)
Yeah... if we actually do it, it will be TONS of fun! :-)
I use to raise and handfeed cockatiels and lovebirds. But then I started working full-time and didn't have time to do the handfeeding. I got my African Grey from a breeder in Arizona back in 1994 when the bird was like 2 or 3 weeks old and then handfeed him myself. He was hatched on my birthday, and he calls me "mom". Ashley's parrotlet is our first new bird for a long time.
I know! The sad part is, time passes even more slowly here. Also sad that your break's already over. Do you guys get MLK day (Jan 21) off? See you friday!
I was just asking cos several schools I've gone to don't get MLK day off (but that's because they lack a certain "key demographic" if you get my drift).
lol... for some reason I missed that memo. My shirt doesn't look great. You can tell there was something where the picture was, but the pic is gone. That's why I thought you might want to do it yourself. But, I will do it if you want me to! I won't be playing in the game on thursday night, so you may have to remind me to get it done before then! :-)
