I don't have much to update about really. :P Life is good. I can't believe that it is December 6 already!
This will be our first holiday season in our new house. :) We put up our tree and have lights outside. :) I like the holidays. We've been working on our shopping - most of our gifts we are making this year.
Of course along with the holidays comes all the stuff about churches giving out dinners or having meals with Santa, and the Salvation army everywhere ringing there bells for money. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against doing good for folks....but the manner in which they are doing this is wrong. What do you all say when people at school/work/wherever start talking about this? My co-workers are buying stuff for a needy family that they found out about through the salvation army. I prefer not to participate. Not because I don't want to help the needy, but because it is through the salvation army. Any suggestions on how to explain this one?
Thanksgiving was great! It was great to see all my family!
Josh's parents came up for a visit this weekend. I'm so glad to have them here! They haven't been here since earlier this year. :) We have been having a lot of company - last weekend my parents, this past week we had some over, and this weekend Josh's family. We like company! :)
Our God is so good. He is magnificent. He is in control - no matter what....and I am glad of that.
God Bless you as you seek to serve Him.
If I don't post between now and the Holidays, have a great one!! :)
Love,
Eliza Miller
I really didn't think my birthday was going to be that great...big wind storm here has caused Josh to be working tons of overtime. So I haven't seen him much and didn't think we'd get to be together much on my birthday. sadness.
But there were lots of happy things:
- my parents called at 7:15am to sing "Happy Birthday" to me
- grandpa called to wish me a happy birthday.
- good friend Elizabeth called to wish me a happy birthday
- work ... I walked in the bank and from my co-workers there was just a string of "Happy Birthdays" being said
- get a message from my brother that goes something like this:
Hey Eliza, this is your brother Andrew and I'm in chorus right now and all the people here have a message for you:
THE FC CHORUS SANG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!
I cried. It was wonderful. Thanks Andrew. :) That was a fantastic birthday present.
-The rest of the afternoon was ok....I talked to a lot of my family. Still hadn't talked much to Josh because he was so busy.
-About 8 o'clock though I heard the garage door go up! Josh was home!!!!! He came home early for my birthday.
I couldn't believe it. He picked me up and we hugged for a long time.
It was great. I cried again. :)
And he brought roses, chocolate, and a card! I love my hubby!
So what I thought was going to be kinda a blah birthday ended up being filled with many special surprises. I love my family and my hubby. I am so blessed.
You all have great day!
Eliza
P.S. Anyone want to go to Uhrichsville's meeting with me tonight?
