The reason why we put God first is he had his son die on the cross to take away all are sins. And, God has been there for us all the time. He never takes his eyes off us. He also has been with us when we are ill, & in trouble. And, even when we have done something so terrible he is still with us. Even when it is so important we still need to go to church every Sunday and Wednesday, and follow God. Satan temps us to follow his ways and to not follow God's ways. So, stay with God, and always trust God and the Bible will show you the way to get to heaven and not disobey God.
So...Wednesday night Cade was busy scribbling something down in his notepad. He was very proud of his masterpiece and showed my mom and myself. So simple for a nine year old to understand. He even put scriptures to the side. He approached my dad after services and said he would like present his talk next week. My dad explained to him about participating in the services and such. I told him I would type it up for him..but I had to share!!
We are doing good. I am getting over yet another freak health incident. Had another ER visit because the entire left side of my face was in excruciating pain last weekend. My lips & chin we numb and I had uncontrolled drooling. Very cute. My left side of my face had a lots of swelling and edema. I took pictures but I won't scare you with them. They checked me for stroke, thought it was neuropathy related to bells palsy. But, it turned out to be a severe infection in face. My health issues are almost becoming a joke!! Yesterday I got my CPR training in adults, children, and infants. I even learned how to shock the dummy!
I meant to mention that my nephew is the same age as Cade and does not have that kind of insight. I'm glad you are feeling better. We get to see your mom next week when she comes to keep Cameron. You need to come visit - she is getting so big. All my bunch are doing well.
It is thrilling to hear of Cade's growing faith. I pray for him, and all of your family.
When you described your symptoms, I wondered about Bells palsy, too. How did you get an infection in your face? Though I suppose they can happen anywhere.
Aww...what Cade wrote is awesome. I think it is a very good reflection on you and what you have taught him about putting the Lord first.
Glad your face is ok! I have never heard of an infection in your face. Just how do they think you got that? I'm glad that is 'all' it is.
Well, I have made it through FOUR weeks of nursing school. At times I honestly did not think I could do it. There have been times I didn't think I had anything left in me...but from somewhere down deep it pulls me through. As a class we are getting closer, which is nice. Today I had foley catheter sign offs. Oh yes. I had not done it on the sim dummy until this morning, and it was a female doll. Not only do you have to cath the dummy but keep your sterile field AND remember every step in between. You have to draw out of a pile of papers to see if you get a male or female dummy...and I got the male. But, I did good- and I passed!! Phew! Our next unit is bowel elimination...I won't even go there.
Well, we got about half of our Halloween stuff up. We have our purple and orange lights on the house. I bought a big spider web today made of orange lights with spiders that light up to put on the house. I will have to take pictures!
I honestly don't remember how long it took me to get used to being comfortable in patient rooms, but they pretty much force you into it, so pretty quickly. = ) Now I can totally walk in during the catheter ^ procedure and be like "oh, don't worry about it, I see that every day!" = )
First I'll start off with Cade's first football game. They won like 36-0. It was a family affair with us, the great grandparents, my folks, and Uncle Ben and Aunt Ashley. It was a great game!
In nursing school today we learned how to give each other baths, change the bed linens while the patient is laying on the bed, put patient on and take them off the bed pan AND starting to learn foley catheters. I passed my sterile gloving technique today. It's SO much harder than you think! We even had to brush our lab partner's teeth! It was hard to have your teeth brushed by a friend. There was a lot of laughter! This week I had my first clinical. I went to one of the nursing homes in town and did my first complete health history on a resident there. It was very nerve racking when we first got there- but once we got with our resident they totally melted our hearts!
I added a new piece to my Halloween collection. You would not even believe it. The Jason Voorhies statue I have been searching for is finally mine!! He is around 6'5" and looks IDENTICAL to his movie character. I kid you not! He moves and swings his arm with his machete in it at you. His eyes also move like he is watching you AND it makes that ch,ch,ch,ch,aw,aw,aw sound like in the movie. I am putting pictures of him up! I put him at the front door and we turned all the lights off. We saw these people walking and when they got right in front of the door...we flipped on the lights and turned him on. Cade said they ran off! HA! We also called my parents to come over and see him. I think they were impressed. This is just the beginning....(pictures to come)
So which nursing school are you going to? I remember going through all that. And don't worry, it gets easier and easier to work with patients. I remember being so nervous just to walk into a room when I first started. = )
We are on our way home from the Styx concert. I had no idea who was opening for them, but they had Kansas!!! Paul, Cade, and I had so much fun! Both bands sounded wonderful. They didn't sing Mr. Roboto, but Cade liked it anyways. He's already asleep in his seat. Maybe I'll start a rock band and play the state fair route! Ha!
I saw them play with Bad Company about 7 yrs ago.
Also I met a lady once in Montgomery, AL who was neighbors with the parents of Styx's lead singer (I forget his name).
I don't need it! Right now probably wouldn't be a good time for you to start! You can keep it though if you want to read it! I am half-way done with book 4 (the last book)
No, we haven't tried the Gap outlet yet, but we've been by it several times! It's super close to where we live, but of course, everything in Warrenton is super close to where we live! Glad ya'll had a fun time at the concert! :)
Did you make it to work alright? I have never seen it rain here like this. Our sump pump is going off every 2-3 min. Normally it goes off maybe once a week to get rid of the air conditioner condensation. As long as it keeps running. Daddy took Cade to school.
New bed was great! Didn't sleep through the night though like I had hoped, but my neck didn't hurt when I woke up. Back did, but that's due to how I sleep. I have to change that.
Let's see. I'm still alive. Nursing school the first two weeks has been very overwhelming. I'm still working and I of course make sure I have enough time for my men. It's very cold here today. Where did summer go? Logan got a big boy bed. It has a door you can open and go underneath his bed. The other day he was crawling in there and then shutting the door. When he would open the door he would say "You can't hide from God". He would shut it again and then pop out and repeat himself. I died laughing. Cade is doing good. His first football game is Monday. Him and I are getting our Halloween plans underway. I put just a few items out-just a little teaser for the new neighborhood. Then I'll put out the big guns! I'm planning on buying a new animated statue this year. Friday we are finally going to the Styx concert. Cade won't know what to do with himself. For those of you that don't know, Cade sang Mr. Roboto for his talent show last year. Well, I'm off to bed.
Have you seen the video on my page of Luke's reaction to one of those animated statutes. It's pretty old - from Halloween last year but its hilarious. The thing scared him to death and he talked about it for weeks!
Thanks! I have no doubt I'll love trying them on...I'm just afraid that I'll start getting too picky! haha...oh well :) Glad your school is going good so far.
