I'm a baking/shopping machine today. Since finals dropped me off in the middle of december, I'm rushing to get everything done. But there's always time for cookies.
Puppy chow, ginger cookies and good ol' chocolate chip. I'm doubling all the recipes to bring some to work tomorrow night because I keep wanting to bring snacks and I never do.
Tonight my sister has a Christmas Party with her work, so Harry will be around the house til later. I think he's going to get a kick out of baking cookies together! I love being an aunt. :)
hey...where in cali are you? Jon and I are coming out there in january and we want to see some of our friends and also find a "good" church...we'll be around the pasedena area
oh ghrayne roberts (is that how you spell his name? oh well)...seriously though, you would think after being a member at that congregation for like, 8 months now they'd know my name. but at least they got my first name correct, right? come visit sarah and me asap!
haha, not so much as an eventful summer as it has been an eventful weekend attempting to do damage control to something i wasn't supopsed to know about. :) but it's better, for now at least. and i move back down in a few weeks, so let's plan to hang out!
you are the absolute best. see you this weekend! :) and then i'll be down for good on either the 22 or 23. so you may begin your countdown accordingly.
This is a Flip. It's an inexpensive, easy to use video recorder. Great for making videos to post on YouTube, for vlogging, or just home video type stuff. Kinda cool, I think.
I'm good, too. I've been doing information management, which is kind of like a glorified librarian for electronic documents. It has its moments, but for the most part it's pretty mundane. BUT(!) I've been doing some web design work here and there and was recently approved to get certified on Adobe's Design Premium Suite of tools. I've been waiting for CS4 to be released, but now that it's out I'll hopefully get to start taking some classes, so I'm excited about that.
I'm glad to hear you're nearing the end. Are you currently looking for a job somewhere? Does everybody ask you that? Any temptations to pursue a PhD? :^)
crazy crazy crazy. danny matchniff sent out an email to people from church letting every one know what was going on...i'm glad the news reports were just saying it was a false alarm or something.
your comment definitely made me laugh out loud. although i'm afraid it came out more of a cackle. i'll have to work on that. hahahahahahahaha. and the creepy hitler guy didn't murder me last night. thanks for caring. :)
The semester is over. YAY! But the last year of school is proving trickier than those before it. All kinds of forms and things that need to be filled out. Boo. I'm currently sitting in the Academic Advising office, waiting for my turn to get a form filled out. However, they are only open until 5 and my name may not be called by then. Boo!
Tonight we get a Christmas tree!! I love pulling out all the fun, silly and sentimental ornaments we've collected over the years. Our tree looks ridiculous with how many knick-knacks we put on it, but I don't care. It's home.
Lately, I've been collecting things that I will have for my own home someday. Christmas is no exception. I already have several ornaments from Italy, a couple from London and a set of nut-crackers my Gramma bought us all because they are just like the ones she had while we were growing up. It's so exciting to collect these things and look to future Christmases! :)
I'm making a huge batch of puppy chow for the kiddos at work. Does anyone remember the recipe off-hand?
There hasn't been much to say since I got back from Italy. To answer the obligatory questions you ask someone who just studied abroad, here we go:
Yes, I'm happy to be home. Yes, I miss it alot. Yes, I got to travel all over Italy. No, I didn't really do the rest of Europe thing. Yes, I somewhat regret that. No, I'm not planning a trip back anytime soon. Yes, the food was great. Yes, I saw the David. and Yes, I speak Italian.
That should cover the basics and leave room for any more creative questions. :)
Meanwhile, a lot has happened in the last week or two. Well.. really over the whole summer but I'm only concerned with the last two weeks:
-No more Red Robin. Now I'm a Cheesecake Factory girl and I can tie a necktie like no body's business.
-School is great and busy and difficult. I love it.
-I'm now the Alumni Assistant for International Programs. Basically that means I help other people realize they can study abroad and help make it happen for them. Rock.
-I'm single again. We don't really need to talk about it.
And now for some exciting news...
I'm rollin into Bowling Green November 8th. I've missed you guys a lot and I figure it's time to visit whoever is left before you all move away and it's even harder to see you again...
Needless to say, i'm stupid excited.
Actuallly, the new Indy poster was created by the same dude (Drew Struzan) who did the originals, so it's not mimicry, it actually the genuine article!
I know that your assimilation into Italian culture is going to make for a painful break but you could always come to SoCal camp (it will be so equal to the coolness of Italy..ok not a all) hope you had an amazing time, safe travels!
Hey Susan! This is Kaitlin Taylor... I have a question for you: Do you have the words to the "movie scene skit" that you and Lauren and someone else did in chapel one day? I think it was to announce the film festival... My camp friends need a Hollywood theme skit, and I thought that that one would be perfect! So if you could let me know if you still have the words, I would really appreciate it! I hope you're doing well!
ahhh i miss you too! i wish you would have come up to say hi! are you going to go to morro bay?? i think you should, and then i would get to see you and there'd be some amazing singing to go with it! :)
it's a package i set aside after missing having you at the wedding. i loved my wedding. it was totally me and most people were like . . .
"Okay, that was wierd"
I think it had something to do with the funky Moby music and hardly anything traditional besides the fact that we got dressed up.
But you would have dug it.
i wanted you to experience it in some way.
