Well, I return to inform my not so faithful readers, (as there has been little for them to faithfully read,)that I am indeed attending the University of South Florida in the Spring!
Though I have yet to meet with avisor, I am going to orientation on Wednesday. And I think I am just going to drop by my advisor's office and have our "advising session". I don't know how that will turn out but at least he'll know I'm persistant.
Caleb and I finally got our couple wedding pictures taken by our lovely friends, Rachel and Ashley. They were great. We were done in less then an hour! As you can imagine Caleb was quite happy about that. It was also cooler, so the poor dear didn't sweat as much.
So those are the main events coming up in my life... Oh yeah and my brother is getting married in less than a month. hummm... that means in less than a month, I'm going to have a SISTER! Yahh!
Okay, now I think I've covered the basics. So long!
there is more to the question then what you think, dear one. I miss you so much! I will be in town Monday night or Tuesday. I'm not sure how long I'll be there...
Awesome, I'm so excited for you! I'm glad things are going well for you! I plan to attend USF in the fall of 2009. I heard USF takes a while.
It's so exciting having a sister!
The sooner you set up your appointment with your advisor the better. They get SWAMPPED at the beginning off every semester, and in my experience e-mail is the best form a communication..."one more thing", parking is bad enough in general, but it's even worse during the first week of the semester so you may want to plan on getting there EARLY. GOOD LUCK! :)
Ya, I know the skeptical look that just came to your face. Honetly, how can something that everybody (minas a few diffective humans) loves be healthy? But humour a chocoholic for a moment.
First, let's clear up a few things. #1 I have been saying this for years! #2 This is not your average Hershey bar; that's candy, (high in refined sugar, added perservatives, wax, and fat.) I'm talking about CHOCOLATE! #3 This Healthy Chocolate in all-natural NOT organic. Organic is when the ingredients are all grown in controlled enviorments. All natural is grown iin its natural enviorment.
This Healthy Chocolate has an astronomical amount of antioxidents and flavonals (or flavonoids) which fight off daily attacks from free radicals. Free radical damage is the cause of many diseases like diabetes, heart disease, infamations, Alheimer's, and even cancer. Not only can this chocolate prevent these diseases, but it can combat them once they have taken root in the body as well.
So... why can't I just buy a chocolate bar from the store and get these healthy benefits? Because other chocolate companies heat process their chocolate, which kills off all of the nutrients in the cocoa. XOCAI, the Healthy Chocolate, cold process their chocolate; thereby, sustaining the nutrients.
If you want more info, just leave me a comment. If you're still skeptical, leave me a comment and I'll tell you more OR you could look up yourself. There have been tons of studies done on the benefits of unadulterated cocoa, and they are all positive!
Hey future sis-in-law... no, we're not coming for Thanksgiving. :-( We had a LONG discussion about future holidays, etc etc etc and we both completely agree on how important it is to be with family and to MAKE THE TIME to spend with family, but it's just not feasible this year.
We still need to buy our plane tickets to come after our wedding for a reception in Florida (somebody at University - can't remember who - is planning it) and with our honeymoon and the first few month's rent (etc, etc etc) and we just can't buy two sets of tickets right now. :-(
But anyway... enough of that sadness. On to happiness... weddings! :-) I would LOVE it if you would be able to help me with my hair on the day of? I'm taking my bridal portraits in November so I have to go and actually get my hair done, but I know you can do just as good of a job (or better!) than a "professional". Let me know what you think! :-)
Weddingness is going good! it definitely is keeping me busy that's for sure; Along with School and work...lol but it's all good, gradually getting things done!
I read the title and I thought, "Is she really trying to sell her chocolate on the nast?" And then I read further and I thought, "no, she's just trying to arrouse curiosity on the nast, and then she'll sell the cocolate." Actually not a bad idea.
I was at the Moyers' for the cast party of the melodrama, and I was talking with Mrs. Dee about how I found I liked to cook and such, then she started talking about how they would h ave "Bean Week". They would have one week a month when they would eat nothing but beans. That's when it dawned on me. We are sooo lucky!
Or perhaps blessed is a better way of saying that. Blessed that Caleb was able to work for a year and save up money for our honeymoon and our first rent. Blessed that, while we don't eat steak every night, we are able to get a variety of food instead of just pb andj or beans. Blessed the we have parents close to us if we need anything, (like a random saterday of sailing). Blessed that we live in a nice sized condo in a good neighbourhood with good nieghbours. Blessed that I have a bike and a school full of freinds about a mile and a half away!
May I never forget the greatest blessing of all... Being able to call God my Father and Christ my Brother.
well, why did they have "bean week". If it was to help them appreciate what they do have, then it could be good to do that. If it was because beans are cheap, and that's all they could afford...well...I don't envy that
As I took a deep breath, the clean mountain air filled my lungs, and my mind went blissfully blank, wiped clear of the thoughts which had been whizzing through my head. The Sangre de Christos towered all around me as my eyes beheld the majestic sunset. I laid down my backpack and began to set up camp. I did not bring a tent, for it would have been too heavy. Instead, I used my poncho for protection from any dew, little though there was in the mountains. By the time my camp was set up, the sun had dipped below the horizon, and stars were beginning to twinkle in the darkening sky. I delayed building my fire. The chill of a mountain night had yet to come, so I laid down in a small clearing no more than ten yards from the shelter of the Aspens and my camp. There, I surveyed the plethora of stars that I would never have seen in any city. I laid there alone in the dark solitude of night, allowing the smell of the sweet grass to sweep through my senses. I had no worries, no care in the world. I was alone with the Almighty’s amazing and beautiful creation. Some find comfort and pleasure in the bright lights and busy streets of New York City. I, however, find nothing comforting about them.
There are people everywhere in New York City, and all are strangers. Most of the people are the average working people who rush to and from work, but there are also thieves, prostitutes, murderers, drug addicts, and rapists. Most of the latter come out at night to ensnare unsuspecting tourists who do not understand the danger of a nicely dressed gentleman asking them if they would like to attend a well known musical at a discounted price. Instead of attending musical, these naïve tourists end up as another name on NYC’s missing persons list. Many people who walk through a small crowd come out with half as much money as they had when they entered. But I suppose the sites of countless clothing stores, an enormous Christmas tree, and a three story McDonald’s makes up for it all, (even though you can hardly breathe in most of these places.)
Well you can keep your city. Keep your crowded streets. Give me solitude. Take away the streets, the responsibility, and the drama. Just give me God’s creation. I have been to New York City, and I have found little astonishing beauty there. Why do people always look at the things men create as a way to undermine God? Men look at their skyscrapers and say, “How great we are.” I look to these mountains and say, “How great thou art!”
I wrote this after we returned from the senior trip to New York. It's one of my favorite essays.
Hey sis those are some very valid points and we definitely have an accord. Mountains over cities and busy streets are the best place to be:) Love ya, Lets get together sometime if you are able to:)
I liked it very much up until you started talking about NYC. It was all so very poetic-sounding, and relaxing, and had a way of making you want to be out there among God's beauty. But then, it ends in a rant, and sort of destroys the artistic flow of though. Yes, I am critiquing your work.
While cleaning out my bookshelves in preperation for moving into OUR Condo, I ran across one of my old Diary/ half written extremely corny books, and in it I found this list. As a disclaimer to prevent plagerizing myself I am keeping everything the it was as I wrote it when I was 11.
CAITLIN'S USEFUL TIPS
1) Complaing [complaining] doesn't get you anywhere and it just anois [annoys] others.
2) Exept [accept] what you have [,] work w/ it [,] live w/ it, and make something pausitve [positive] come out of it.
3) Don't take anything that isn't your's because you may ruin someone's dinner!
Wow, it's interesting to look back to your child hood to see what profound understanding you had of things. Every problem always seemed so simple to solve then, and in a way they are still simple now. It just gets all cloudy when poeple babble on about how they FEEL about the problem instead of dealing with the actual problem. So take a hint, if you have a problem try and focus more on how to solve it instead of how bad you feel about it. When you sit down and just think things out with a Bible in front of you, things tend to turn out alright. Honestly, all you can do is search for truth and act on what you believe to be right, and if you have honestly searched for the truth with out any bias, then you will come to the correct conclusion. All you can do is what you beleive to be right, and it may be that you find later that you were wrong, but that's what so great about God's forgiveness. It doesn't matter what we have done or how long we did it, what matters is that when we are faced with our incorrect thinking, our mistakes, our sins is that we stop doing those things. If you'd like a Biblical example just read Acts chapters 9,22, and 23 and you'll see how Saul/Paul make a complete change in his life.
Well, this was suppose to be a short and sweet post...oh well. And by the way, I have no idea what the making someone loose thier dinner was about. What can I say I was 11 and strange!
Ello cousin. (:
What do you wish for us to wear to the rehearsal wedding on Monday night? Dressy? Also, is there a specific color you want us to dress in at the wedding, if possible?
I was wishing I could chat with you the other day but I know your probably very busy with family and wedding stuff. I miss you!!! Love you and see you soon!!!!!
Taking something from someone else might set off a chain of events that is so involved and complicated, that eventually, it might lead to the depletion of some poor decrepit orphans dinner for the night.
I also enjoy seeing how much my character has developed since I was younger. I go back and reread some of my writings, and I find it thouroughly interesting
Hey there!!! Miss you babe! I never got to tell you how wonderful your wedding was. Thank you for letting me be in it! Hey, you have to give me your new address.
very impressive insight, for a high schooler, let alone an 11 year-old. Nice spelling. lol and what's this u were weird? what would caleb say to that? lol
I did not forget you. I meant that the people I was going with did not seem excited about it. I saw Hancock instead. You wanna see the mummuy with me sometime?
is 7 55 good? I might not be able to go even then though. I was told yesterday that we are making the video at 5 15 on Sat. so I can only go if we hurry with my part of the video.
