Well, school has started again. It seriously seems like 8 years ago when I was beginning my first year of teaching. Fortunately, I’ve made it through an entire year and am now at least a little bit more comfortable with what I’m doing. While I have decided that it should be against the law to wake up before the sun even comes out, I am glad to be back. I really like what I do and so far, I’m having a pretty good time doing it. Especially since I have a bit more of a clue about things than I did at this time last year. I mean, it’s a night and day difference!
In other news, I’ve discovered predictive texting. Wow. I mean, where has this invention been all my life? I never knew texting could be so simple!
Oh, and if you don’t know, our landlord is a complete dud. We have lived in this house for over two months now and he still hasn’t fixed anything that was broken when we moved in. So, we finally got some guts and wrote him a letter along with this month’s rent. We told him he was in breach of contract and that if he didn’t fix the three things we asked him to (back in JUNE, by the way) by September 1st, we were going to hire someone to do it and take it out of September’s rent. How ‘bout us? Although, I’m almost certain this will come back and bite us in the end, I’m feeling pretty gutsy for now!
Hmm... yeah, that’s probably it. Now that I’m sucked back into the world of Greenwood High School, my life will assume its usual boringness. I have vowed to be more social this year. So far so good, but that’s already causing me some pretty droopy eyes when my alarm goes off at 5! Thank goodness for Saturday mornings! |
