Please welcome my friend Brittany to Pleonast...I have no idea how to make a link to her profile....but her user name is duchess if you're feeling ambitious and want to look her up!
The countdown begins...I leave Ohio in 5 days for my summer training in Raleigh, NC, Atlanta, GA, and Houston, TX. It's shaping up for a very busy summer! I'm going to be one tired teacher.
For now, I'm just hanging out in southeast Ohio and enjoying my leisure time. I'm having a great time just piddling around and doing a whole lot of nothing in particular.
haha yes we really have a buck hanging in the living room..we laughed..i figured you'd probably feel like it's watching you or something. I guess you can sleep in your room or i think dad even mentioned that it can be taken down:-)
yea part of the barn's already falling down but they're going to have a guy come in and take it down..and he's paying them..he'll take what he wants and leave the rest
Everyone will definitely have a place to stay. I think Eric's going to try to find a house or two for girls and a house or two for guys. I think we've claimed girls since you and Amber are family. :)
For some reason, I have in my head that you have some dietary restrictions. If so, could you please let me know what they are so I can make sure we have stuff on hand that you can eat. If not, well then great! :)
We have a double bed, an air mattress, the couch, and plenty of floor space. I probably have enough pillows/blankets for 2-3 people, so if 1 or 2 of you wants to bring them, that would be fine. I'm excited to see you guys!
This really takes a load off my mind and my wallet. Whew!
On other news, we broke our lease last week and are moving this week. Dad, josh, and mom will be traveling up this weekend to move out the rest of my furniture. I'll be living with the Grushons until my move to North Carolina in June.
great news :-) by the way, i just glanced over your last post and thought i'd mention our college study just went over that whole scene with the man of God, too..good Bible authority stuff - glad you're exposing the little ones to it.

Not much interesting happening in my life....all I do is work. Subbed middle school the other day, it was really fun. It was hilarious how many kids tried to convince me they needed to move seats because they "forgot their glasses".....that's a legitimate excuse sometimes, but when 20 kids in the same class have that problem at the same time, it's a little fishy!
Bible class was so good today! I taught the 4-5 year olds about the young prophet that God sent to reprimand Jeroboam. He was told not to eat, drink, or return the same way he came. He was tricked by the old prophet and disobeyed God's commands, and God had him eaten by a lion on his return home. I taught them what a detour was and how we don't want to take any of Satan's detours as we travel on God's pathway...after class I heard several of the kids telling their parents, "No detours! No detours on God's path!" :)
I could use your prayers right now. I'm trying to get health insurance, and am being denied right and left. Apparently you have to be perfect to get health insurance...and my medical history isn't exactly spotless, so no one will give me insurance. We've tried yet another company, and are waiting for their decision.
I just finished reading the book titled "Facing Your Giants" by Max Lucado. While I was not a fan of the way he dramatized (is that a word?) the Biblical accounts of David's life, I kept on reading because there were really some great points in there. One that I keep thinking about is the word "nevertheless." He talks about David when he was wanting to establish Jerusalem as the capital city of his kingdom and all of the obstacles that he faced. The kingdom is divided, and the land was inhabited by the Jebusites, who taunted David, telling him that "You shall not come in here; but the blind and the lame will repel you...Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion..." (2 Samuel 5: 6-9)
The author goes on to talk about the word nevertheless and other Bible people who persevered in the face of challenges, such as Nehemiah who was challenged and mocked when trying to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Also: "Joseph was imprisoned in Egypt...nevertheless Joseph ruled; Jesus was dead in the grave...nevertheless Jesus rose."
My take on all this: We all have obstacles in our lives; challenges or weaknesses that could easily become excuses if we let them. Nevertheless... ____________. We should strive to overcome these challenges so that instead of becoming excuses, they are simply the beginning of a "nevertheless" statement about our lives.
