From Mallory, age 4.5
Mal was full of deep thoughts today. First was her description of how her brain works. Very interesting: "there's a spinner thing and words and pictures. The spinner lands on a picture and the word is next to it. There's cracks between the pictures and words." I really wonder what she was thinking of. Maybe one of those pull string wheels where you pull the string and the arrow lands on an animal and it makes the sound. Not sure but very interesting that that's what she sees in her head.
Another one on the way home from church: She was asking how it gets dark at night and light in the day. Brian explained it a little and she really picked up on the earth spinning. She said she knows the earth is a like a big ball and then it dawned on her that we don't fall off the earth since it's round. Brian asked her how she thought that worked. She said "the dirt must be kind of sticky, right?" LOL Brian explained gravity to her and now I'm fully expecting her to be using her new words like gravity for the rest of the week. ;) |

But nothing really exciting to post about.
Yesterday was the last day of the quarter for Bible class. I was teaching the preschoolers with Holly. Every class we start out with prayer and I let the kids take turns praying. They have said some pretty cute things! Yesterday was my favorite. This was part of three year old Mellie's prayer: "Thank you for heaven, I hope it is shiny and pink." Sounds good to me!

on Peter Pan! She's watched that movie (the original cartoon) about 300 times already! It really holds her attention too.
Today was Mal's first day of preschool. This will be her second year. Wow, this year has flown by!!

Mallory starts school again on Monday. This will be her second year of preschool. Now she'll be going three mornings a week from 9-11:30. She's pretty excited of course. The class will pretty much be the same as last year as far as students. I am a little annoyed that I have to go with her for a shortened day on Monday. I can't bring Sam and I have no idea what I'm going to do with him. Guess I better figure that out today! |
