Do you find it hard to think up things that you want for Christmas? I feel so blessed that when a family member asks, I kind of go blank and try to think of some things that I have been wanting.
That being said, I really want a new ceiling fan for my livingroom. Ours stopped working a couple of weeks ago and I really miss having it for air movement. (don't really need it for temperature reasons in the winter, but this is Texas after all!)
What is the strangest thing you have ever requested when asked? |

Since we have all had our turkey and dressing and PIE...I thought it would be a good time to reflect on what we are/were thankful for in 2008.
I'll start.
I am thankful I have a Christian, loving, supportive husband and soon-to-be-daddy. I could not have smile so much without him in my life this year.
I am thankful for "Micah" that will join this world in April and for him to know what a special gift he is from our God. I want him to love our God and know He is his Creator!
I am thankful for my job. So many 9including my husband) have struggled this year looking for good employment (or even bad employment). We are blessed to pay our bills and live in content (see Amy's blog on being content!). We are so blessed.
I am thankful I am an American that has the freedom to worship our Heavenly Father openly. Now...to spread that good news! :)
Ok. Your turn...what are you thankful for in 2008? |

Sorry, this is a completely baby post! :)
I had had an empty room (somewhat anyway) and a guest room. The guest room is the room I would prefer to be the nursery since I can possibly hear Micah thru my bathroom wall (share a wall) and the other room shares a wall with the garage and didn't want him to wake up everytime. Last night, Ryan and I moved all the guest room furniture into the other bedroom and got it situated (somewhat, still have some things to change on the walls and whatnot). THEN, we put together the crib!! YAY! I bought a "silky" bumper/bedding set at Bracken Village in Garden Ridge, which is a bunch of little shops that look like little houses. They are specialty shops and I found this on sale for half off!! It is chenille dark chocolate brown with baby blue satin ruffles on the top of the bumper and baby blue satin ribbons for the ties to the crib! I love it! Ryan and his sister are going to paint the nursery the weekend I am on a youth group retreat as a chaperone (Dec.12-14). One wall I am going to do the dark brown and the rest baby blue...except I am going to use different sheens of the same color, making it look like stripes! So excited! Tonight, we will put together the matching changing table. I promise I will post pictures!! Oh, and I found letters spelling "Micah" in a neat font with baby blue gingham ribbon attached to hang it up over his crib. The baby blue ribbon is perfect to go on the chocolate wall.
Ryan and I decided on the name "Micah Greyson Pitts", but Ryan constantly was saying he wanted 2 middle names. (I didn't want to do that to the kid everytime he has to fill out government forms!) He was going to let it go (and I wasn't looking for another name) when my incredible, creative friend told me that we should use the middle name "Rhodes" since Ryan and I met and married in Rhode Island. (keep in mind she didn't even know he wanted 2 middle names!) I mentioned to him last week jokingly and he said "I LOVE THAT!". Needless to say, that name is now "Micah Rhodes Greyson Pitts"! So, Sarah, you have had a hand in our child's name! Love you! :)
Our first....Saturday night Ryan and I went to go see the new 007 movie. (was a disappointment!) Before it started, Micah started kicking HARD! I asked Ryan to see if he could feel yet and he looked at me and said "I love you. That is my son!" He had a tear in his eyes and said he is so happy about his little boy. It was so neat to see my husband so mushy....especially since my hormones are changing again! :)
Promise pictures will follow!! What did you guys do this weekend? |

My computer has been sick...it has been fighting this virus that has been going around and needed to be restored. I had to buy a new heart (a whole new drive!) and revived it! We had a really good friend that restores computers. We haven't had ours since last Wednesday!!! This, of course, is why no one has heard from me. I have missed out on so much.
I didn't realize just how much we rely on these silly things until I had NO WAY of even checking email until this afternoon.
In other news, please pray for my job security. I have heard that today my company is going to be "cutting back" and therefore all the temps are first to go. With my income, I am sure I am someone they would think about. I am also the major income provider for our home, and with the baby on the way (YAY! I'm half way there!!) it makes me a bit nervous.
I hope everyone had a great weekend and I will catch up with you all soon! |
