^Actually...I have showed him how to update his blog but he insists on adding on to his existing post. He added pictures below in his previous post!!! I love my husband :)
Hi, nice build on the saw. Do you work for a dealer or just fix stuff on your own? I've got a dealership in Granbury Tx. Found your page by accident on a Google search no less. haha.
Well, Stihl is real protective of their dealer network, more than any other brand. They don't allow whole goods or parts to be sold over the internet. You could do it with Husqvarna or Echo though.
The distributor is Blue Mountain up in McKinney if you want to get set up with them. You have to retail the whole goods too though. Do you have a storefront?
Thanks for looking at my weblog. My name is Trent and I'm new to all of this webloging hip hop stuff so, if I seem old fashion then there is a good chance that I am...LoL
So, I decided to start my very own weblog to share with you the many things that I like to do and learn about. I am a mechanical / technical information junky and I just love the challenge of working on and trying to fix things.
I started working on and fixing things when my loving dad Walter Wayne bought me my very own first kiddy tool box. I can remember when I saw my new little blue tool box next to his with my nick name on it "Hot Rod".
I went to my tool box as a kid to find my happiness and enjoyment because I was my dad's lil helper and I was learning fast. As time went by, so did my first tool box but the memories are still with me today.
With my dad's patience and my God given talent, I now have many tool boxes filled with lots of cool tools that bring me great happiness.
So with my new blog "Whats On Trent's Work Bench" I will post pictures of things that I'm working on and explain to you what I'm doing with it. Please stop by and look around or just say Hi.

Project#1: Stihl 046 Magnum
At this time I am cleaning and inspecting all of the loose parts. I'm looking over everything for damage and if its in spec. I have lots of new parts on order and they should be here soon, I cant wait.
Below are a few pics of the saw and where I stand with the rebuild process. There is not much to look at for now, but soon I will be putting it back together and I will have many more pics for you to view. Keep looking back often, Cheers :-)
Okay, I finally got in some of the parts I have been needing to finish rebuilding this saw. One thing I like to do before I start rebuilding a piece is to look over all the parts and understand the way they must go together. Below is most of the new parts that have come in.
Below is the crankcase halves after I have sandblasted them and painted them.
Below I'm installing the new crank bearings.
Below I'm installing the crankshaft and rod. The crankshaft and rod is used, but it was still in the factory spec so I reused it.
Below I have the crankcase gasket in place. Next we will put the two crankcase halves together.
Below I now have the two crankcase halves together. It's starting to look like a saw.
Next we will install the piston and cylinder. These parts are new and were a must to replace.
Below I now have the new piston installed on the rod.
Below I now have the new cylinder installed.
Below I have installed the chain oil pump and the chain safety brake.
Next I'm installing the clutch assy. This clutch is a used part, but was still in the factory spec.
This is the last pic where I'm installing the flywheel. Look back soon for more pics. I have more parts on the way and I will be finish up this saw project and putting it to work very soon.
^^^has anyone noticed the cat in the second picture??? This is my new daughter cat...whom I love..really. She leaves me paw prints all over my clean BLACK car all the TIME!!! She must love me too :)
Welcome to Pleonast! I'm John from Auburn, Alabama. War Eagle! Stihl chainsaws rock. My dealer gave me one of their calendars and when I opened it at home my wife made me get rid of it. (Yep it was girls in bikinis using chainsaws) :)
Would you be interested in an ancient electric edger? It's probably from the 1940s, and has a GE electric "lawnmower" motor. I cleaned it up, painted it, and used it for a very long time, but a bolt that goes all the way through the motor and attaches to the frame broke about 8-9 years ago and I haven't used it since. Since the roof blew off of my workshop during Ike, it's gotten wet and some rust is showing through the paint. If you're interested, you can have it. (It was my grandfather's.)
