Happy Birthday and Tagged 09-30-08 08:26pm CST
Today is my Husband's 30th Birthday! We had a small surprise party for him and had a ball. It was a fun time with good friends and I think Kris really enjoyed it all! The girls had so much fun getting ready for his party. They love birthdays!

Also, I have been tagged:

1. I love singing! I could sing hymns all day long.

2. One of my favorite things to do with my kids is read Little House on the Prairie.

3. I thought I was young enough to pick up right where I left off and be able to roller blade like a pro. Not as young as I thought! :)

4. I have an addiction: FABRIC! I love fabric! Especially Michael Miller.

5. My house is never as clean as I would like it to be.

6. My husband and I love playing board games together.

7. I love anything to do with cherries! (Especially Blue Bell Chocolate Covered Cherries! YUM!)

8. There is nothing I like better than snuggling up to a little baby and taking a nap together!

anne#5 is probably because of #6, don't you think?? Blue Bell Chocolate Covered Cherries is THE BEST thing they've come up with.
littlelambI love Michael Miller! I have WAY too much fabric- I worked for Hancock Fabrics for 3 years and bought a ton. One of these days it really will be something... :)
sharonI love fabric, but I hate my sewing machine.
mnstevens24I am sorry we missed the party but I am glad yall had a good time! #3 - i know what you mean! Skating is an artform and if you quit for many years you have to re-teach yourself! I can't wait to do #8 :)
a_shipleygonna have to put the blue bell on my list of things to try!
a_shipleyand you would love going to my moms house. she also has a fabric addiction, but its been going on since we were kids :)
staciai also love #8!!
stylinmamaMmmm...I love chocolate covered cherries. Especially the DARK chocolate ones!
darleen21Thanks for the thoughts, I should sleep lots better tonight since I do not have anything planned for tomorrow.
mom2reeseNice to *meet* you. My mom has an addiction to fabric too. you should see her sewing room!
anitajI'm with you on singing hymns all day long, and I'm especially good in the shower. Blue Bell Chocolate Covered Cherries ice cream is on my list of things to try when I next get to Texas. Thanks for the tip!
a_shipleysounds like fun! what dates will yall be down?
a_shipleylet me get back to ya once i know our thanksgiving plans :)
darleen21Thanks for sharing the verse. It's always good to be reminded of such things... Hope all is well your way!
sharonCourtney, the baby stuff is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! Thank you SO much for helping with this!!!
amanda_reneMiss you...but oh yeah...see you in like 6 days!
janarrodhi! very cool. so you have twins? that would definitely be interesting! how old are they?
i also LOVE roller blading..me and my friend growing up used to go as soon as we got home from school and blade on through the evening! i haven't done it in forever!!
didowI'm glad you think you can use the idea. It is such a simple thing to do and the kids love it. I've done it quite a bit with little kids when I use Palma Smiley's To Toddlers With Love. I haven't taught this age group too often. It is hard to teach 5-6 year olds because they need meatier lessons but can't necessarily read yet. Visuals are so good. We'll be studying the Judges next. Gideon and Samson seem easy to do something like this with. Gideon: sheepskin, horn, maybe a bag of corn to represent his farming. Samson: plastic bee, small wig or small scissors (he wasn't to cut his hair), rope, small lion. I'm thinking these up as I type so there might be some better ones, but you get the idea. I was going to use a cloth bag that I had made for the baby class but they are using it. I was in a bind so I just used a brown paper lunch bag. It worked fine.

By the way, I've always wanted twins. I have 6 boys. I took a picture of each of them at 9 months in a tub like yours above. I have them hanging in my bathroom.
grannyJust wait til you, your husband AND your kids can sing together -- in harmony. Oh, how I miss those days!

Enjoying the Weather! 09-16-08 01:26pm CST
The last two days have been so wonderful here! It has been in the 70's and we have really enjoyed that! The girls and I met some friends at the park today for play time and a picnic. They had a really good time! I enjoyed it being so nice and cool! It really makes me ready for more of that! I get to spend some wonderful, much needed time with my sweet sister next week! I am really looking forward to that!

We had Kathryn's blood taken last week to see if she has all the same allergies as Maddie. I am interested to see and we should hear back any day!

Besides our busy day to day lives I have been finishing up an eBook that will be for sale at YCMT . I am really excited about it and will be adding several more in the coming months. It is a great site and where we have gotten many of our sewing patterns.

We are continuing to pray for all those affected by Ike.
mnstevens24A picnic in the park, there couldn't be a more perfect thing to do this week! Glad your were able to get out and enjoy the girls!
mnstevens24I have been buying a little bit of all the colors since we don't know yet. THe store is called Doodlebugs, here in Granbury. I have heard of Once Upon a child but I don't know where that is...
shaftIt was really good to see you and the girls today. I hope we can get together again sometime, with Chris too.

Thank you for your prayers for all of us affected by Ike.
amanda_reneGlad you're having good weather. It's actually been cool here, so we left our air off! Can't wait to see you!!!
kristasfathis weather has been amazing! what a blessing when you have no electricity!
sharonI am LOVING the weather!
darleen21Thanks, everything turned out better than expected. We are enjoying this nice weather also, hope it sticks around a little while longer.
mnstevens24thank you for finding and sending that to me.... I would be very interested in a ladies class like that, we have one going on right now at our congregation that I would like to get thru first. It should be over by the end of Oct. What are your thoughts about it?
mnstevens24were you thinking ladies class like Anne's, or just a general class anyone could attend, let me know your thoughts, i think it would be great.
mnstevens24Will yall be having another booth somewhere soon?
mnstevens24Maybe a boy for one of your girls :) Little Emma won't be too much older, but ok that is getting a little ahead of myself.....Or has Brayton spoken for her already?
shaftI think Brayton will go for the twins! :)
a_shipleythanks! its good to hear that many others struggled with the same thing. now we can all be confident!!
darleen21Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, all support is appreciated.
