Hey, it's me again. I won't make this one a very long one, but I just wanted to thank everyone for the kind words and congrats for Amy and I.
For those who don't know, Amy and I are engaged, and I am absolutely thrilled. She can tell you the story, but man, I got her really good! I am just glowing and am so lucky to have Amy in my life!
Amy has pretty much caught everyone up as far as what we did this weekend. I didn't think we had enough time to cram in as much as we did.
The softball game was alot of fun, but quite honestly I am still sore all over. It had been a while since I had played an organized game of softball and my body is still reminding me of that. I think John Santos and I will have to hit the batting cages to keep our skills up and to keep our aches and pains down.
Our meeting started yesterday and it has been excellent so far. I look forward to the other nights. I won't be able to make it Tuesday because of school, but I'll be there Monday and Wednesday. If you can make it out to Cy-Fair any night this week it would be very beneficial to you. If you can't make it, tell some people about it!
That's pretty much it right now. All I know is that for the past two weeks the Texans are 2-0 and the Cowboys are 0-2.
So, are you enjoying your new job? Your mom was telling me about it when they were here last. Sounds really cool! So, lets get some THanksgiving plans in the making!
Yeah, I was hoping he'd be one of the ones to respond to the questions in my post. He's a great Bible student. He's Amy Hunter's brother, and we grew up together at Humble. Body Worlds was AWESOME! I didn't get to make it when the first one came around, but it was really cool in a very creepy sort of way. If for no other reason, I would recommend it to see the embryos and fetuses they have there. It's amazing to see how early they are totally recognizable as a baby! I think it's a must-see!
Missed y'all Sunday morning. Amy had told me y'all would be at Kleinwood. Class was another good one, but we had a lot of people out! Glad y'all were back last night!
Great job last night Brad! You had no reason to be nervous. You spoke very well and I would love to hear you again. I know how it is those watching the calendar and becomming more nervous as the day gets closer...like doctor appointments! :-)
Hey, Brad - sorry I didn't make it over to you last night. I ended up stopping to blab a couple of times on my way to talk to you, and then you were gone! :( Anyway, agreeing with everyone else, you did an excellent job on the invitation last night. I can tell it was very well thought out. Thanks for being willing to step forward and do that! You are a huge encouragement!
I feel like this is elementary school and we sit and a circle and we go around with everyone naming something they are thankful for.
Things I am thankful for:
- Amy. I am very lucky to have her in my life. She is the perfect compliment for me and I feel as if I have found my worthy woman, as Solomon would put it.
- My family. They are wonderful and I love them dearly.
- My church family. They are the strongest group of people I know and they challenge me to become stronger daily.
- My friends. Most of my friends are my family and church family, but I also have a few close friends outside of that group.
- My music instructors. Anyone who taught me anything about music, thank you so much! My passion for music is so great because other people willingly shared their passion with me.
- Second, third, fourth, and so on chances. Everybody should be thankful for this. We would be lost eternally without them.
Those are the things that stood out to me the most. Everyone could go on and on for a really long time, but I chose not to bore everyone anymore!
I'll give you a short post about what else has been going on lately.
The Astros are done for the season, and did surprisingly better than I thought they would.
The Texans have lost each game they have played so far. I thought they would be doing much better this season.
The Rockets begin the preseason shortly which I am looking forward to.
It's funny that when you are a Houston sports fan, you look forward to the team that isn't playing at the moment. Generally that is because the teams playing are doing horrible. I am looking forward to the Rockets so much because the Texans are awful and the Astros weren't much better. I am sure the time basketball season and baseball season are going on I will be ready for some Texans football. The neverending cycle......
Anyways I've been busy working and going to school as well. I should finish up my associate's degree in December. Ike has put everyone behind in school, but I will catch up. I've been doing contract work for a company called Media Riot Productions here in Houston. www.mediariotpro.com for those who care to look it up. It's been pretty cool. I am finishing up a project right now for a R&B singer. I had alot of fun recording and mixing her music. I love being able to go to work and do what I love to do. I should have her stuff wrapped up by the end of the week and move on to a new project. I believe I will be mixing the dialogue and music for an independant film.
I have written way too much at this point... I don't have this pleonast account to blog, but to merely look at everyone else's blog :) Ya'll have a good one
The great thing about being an Astros fan is that you always have next year to look forward to.
That sounds like an awesome job. Are you doing mostly music production? or video as well? The company looks like it would be alot of fun to work for. There are alot of places like that out here.
I kept spelling pleonast "ploenast" so I figured the website didn't exist anymore.
Just kidding.
Anyways I hope all is well with everyone. I just recently got Amy aboard with us and I felt I was a poor example never posting. So here it is, my official 2008 post. It's not going to be too extensive due to the fact that it is almost midnight and Sunday morning is about 3 minutes away.
That's pretty much it for now... if I post everything right now, no one would come back again. That's why movies have sequels. Goodnight!
Ahhhh! Nice to see something else besides "another Monday". I guess I can't say much. I haven't posted since June. Just don't have alot to say that would interest anyone. I am so glad that you got Amy on here! Like I told her, I was soooo sad that I didn't get to see yall when my sibs came to see you. I really wanted to come, just didn't have a lot of money to spend. Anyway, glad to see you are back!
Thanks for your comments, Brad. I'm glad to know that other people feel the same way. I'm going to try to get myself better prepared and consciously not use the "I think..." phrase. :) Thanks for the encouragement.
Hey, I've been on here as I normally do reading everyone's posts and I figured I would write a little something. Today I woke up and went to an interview for an internship position. I am taking an internship class this semester that requires us to have 275 hours of work accounted for. The clock was ticking and I was scrambling to find something. Amy's dad made a few phone calls and I called one of the men he had talked to and we scheduled an appointment for today. Good news! I got the internship! I start Wednesday at the local radio station Sunny 99.1 as the morning show intern. Morning show you ask? That's right... I have to be there at the crack of 4:30. Rough hours, but there will be so much to learn and such a great opportunity.
I've prayed about finding a job and being able to succeed and at times it seems like things aren't going quite as I planned. That was the problem though... as "I" had planned. I had gotten refused by some other employers and I was really feeling down. Had I gotten hired at any other place, this internship would not have been able to happen. I am very thankful for this awesome opportunity!
Just remember that God's will and plan aren't necessarily our will or plan!
In other news, I'm ready for the baseball season to end. Without the 'stros in the running, I don't like the idea of the pennant race or the playoffs even for that matter. The Houston Texans are off to a better start than we have seen previously. I am by no means a die-hard Texans fan, but it is nice to see real NFL caliber football being played.
Well, I'm off for now. Have a great week everyone!
Wow, I hadn't looked on your blog in so long cause I thought you had quit posting! I see you ahve posted thrice since February! Good to hear you've come back to earth! Wow! A job at the radio station? I listen to that station whenever I head south. I can't really pick it up til Livingston. *SINGING* "Sunny,.....ninety nine point one....." So will you be on air or just work doing other things? Well, I just the post above and see that you are on air! I guess I will drive to Livingston one morning so I can hear you! From what time to what time do you talk?
We heard the people on your radio station talking to you the other day and saying you were going to play your trumpet at something. I got so excited, they were talking to my cousin on the radio. I guess your famous!
