"And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand." Romans 14:4b

"The only thing that walks back from the tomb with the mourners and refuses to be buried is the character of a man. This is true. What a man is survives him. It can never be buried."
A Purdue student committed suicide this week. I read about him while waiting for one of my classes to start. I obviously wasn't the only one... one of my female classmates said, "Hey! Did you see his picture? He was hot. So cute!"
How does one respond to that? A LIFE is gone. A broken person without answers... and we can only comment that he was cute?
Why do we make idols and objects of God's creation?
How sad, very, very Sad.
Paul told the Church in Corinth not to look at anyone in a worldly point. I need to look at everyone as a person with a Soul. This soul is either bound to eternal Damnation or to eternal bliss with the Son of God.
When you look at someone, be sure to see them as Jehovah does.
Andrew and I were *just* talking about this kind of thing. In particular, seeing what's *really* there instead of what we *decide* is there so that we can feel "righteously" superior in our judgment of others. Very good things to think about. Thanks, Bill.
I think this is one of the measures of becoming more Christ-like--the ability to see the inward person and not be distracted by the outward appearance.
"Suffereth"
From the same as G3116; to be long spirited, that is, (objectively) forbearing or (subjectively) patient: - bear (suffer) long, be longsuffering, have (long) patience, be patient, patiently endure.
G3116
μακροθυμώς
makrothumōs
mak-roth-oo-moce'
Adverb of a compound of G3117 and G2372; with long (enduring) temper, that is, leniently: - patiently.
When I am in a restaurant I expect the waiter to wait on me, not rush me, yet be there at my beckon call. I expect them to wait on me because that is what they are being paid for.
We are told to Wait upon the Lord, and we are also told that the Lord is waiting at the door for us (Rev 3).
Love waits upon, does not rush, and patiently hopes.
1Co 13:4-8 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. . .
We'll be leaving our house no later than 1:15 (our time), but we're planning to leave at 1:00. If you like, we can give you a ring on your cell when we leave (but you'll have to give us your number, cause we don't have it).
I have tended to be an overenthusiastic optimist. When asked how I am, I tend to use one of the following responses:
1. Awesome
2. Finer than frogs hair (split and quartered even)
3. Amazing
4. If I were any better I'd be twins and you'd hear me in stereo.
5. Fine, thank you
6. Tremendous
I recently heard an older gentlemen (older than I, now that is old!)say that when a Christian is asked how they are the response should simply be:
"Richly blessed"
How true that is. Even when I try, I cannot list all the blessings the Father has given me in Christ Jesus.
Richly Blessed, that is how I am today, and everyday.
