The end of July 07-22-08 12:19pm EST
I was reading Bertina's blog, )sorry haven't mastered html yet)
and was thinking what end of july meant to me.
I almost started with the downside, that's terrible. So, I will try the upside, 6 or so weeks left of summer, YEAH! Hot, muggy nights, means cool bedrooms if you have an air conditioner,so you can still throw on a few lightweight blankets, and cuddle up with your dh, or little ones, if they are having a bad night.
Still time to travel, and enjoy a few ahhhs, of breath before school starts. Planning time, we all need some, and what a perfect time! Its too hot in the aftrnoon to really go outside, and if you are not working, like most moms here, its a great time to give kids book, quiet them down and plan.
The sun is always shining, except for the occaissional thunderstorm. I never liked them, I was terrified of them from when I was two years old. Yes, I can recall that far back in to my childhood, its just today I forget! :-) However, when the kids were just pups, we used to make a fun time out of storms, so they wouldn't grow up afraid. We would talk about hiding, and pack a snack, and get flashlights, make an inside tent fashioned out of blankets and a table or living room chairs, play the transistor radio(still remember those? I still had one then) and read stories, it was fun, and I forgot my fear for a little while! The shore, its my favorite place to be. I feel so good there. this is the time of year we would plan our family vacation. We would do some school days, so we could go in September, when the crowds that liked to be half-naked weren't there. I would dream of those magical moments by the ocean, and think of the wonderful sea smells, and the lilting laughter of the silly seagulls. Have you ever read, watched or heard of Jonathon Livingston Seagull? Well, Neil Diamond sings the whole story, but I turn that on once and awhile(the CD now) and just listen and dream about those perfect moments.
Well, that's enough.
Heaven is just on the other side, and we do have work to do here, until we meet there!
Have a Blessed day everyone!
In His Love,
me
theoldoneSee "ed" click on my buddie list below, he is trying to get the word out about KIVA and I don't know the link at the moment, but he has great info. on that organization!
bbeasleyI decided to go ahead and start a group. Check it out!! Army_Wives
tucksmomNice to "meet" you. Drop into my page any time.
belizemamaHi sister, good to hear from you. When we spend our whole life focused on serving and molding our children it is sure hard to gears! I will pray that God will help you find those golden moments in other aspects of life. When I lived in Pa and used to walk up the mountain I remember praying to God once whereever my travels take me in life if I can't have a mountain could you give me an ocean. And he gave me Belize where the whole country is coastline. It is awesome like my God who created it. Keep looking to the things above, and we will have peace and joy in our lives
belizemamathats shift gears. smile
mamaladyHi Tonya; ) Yes, I like planning days and family times.

How is the water at the beach in Sept. We've thought of going, but didn't want the crowds.
catkeyhello, Carol W. told me to look you up. I have precious memories of the beaches too. My family used to go to the beaches of North Carolina in September or October, around Columbus day it was so beautiful and peaceful, and the water was lovely and warm. We would see retired folks at that time, fishermen & their wives. It was the best time of the year - hardly any swimmers during the week, everyone was at work, or school. Weekends we would usually leave. We would be in our long shorts and dark tee shirts. Sometimes I can smell the air and feel the breeze, here in Belize, and I think of October in Cape Hatterus(?sp) I miss my family very much on certain days, like birthdays and holidays. I know those days are part of my life, so I cry alot on those days and then I am okay again. Kristine and Carol and the ladies in Orange Walk sure do encourage us so much. Life is serving God and so we must keep on - being pleasing in His sight. I was reading Daniel 9 - the prayer that he prayed for the sins of Israel. It touches my heart to read it and his life must have been so challenging - what an example to us. So I wish you a beautiful day - keep on being the wonderful example. Having those young women over for studies - how blessed they are to have someone like you there. loving greetins to you. Selma
bbeasleyHey there! My grandmother is right - "It's not a small world, just a big family!" I saw the note you put on tucksmom's blog. She is my mom and Tuck is my younger brother! How cool! I absolutely love finding connections to others on pleo!!

New Orleans 04-26-08 10:44pm EST
To those who didn't know, I was in New Orleans last week.
It was a time of reflection, of re-dedication, of being a part of 350 people all working together toward one goal, for a whole community, that we didn't even live in.
Even though this was a great feat to be a part of, I couldn't help but think, what the Lord's church could do if we all acted as one, instead of single cell units.

Well, food for thought.

I will keep trying to do my best. You may not see me, or know me well, or understand fibromyalgia combined with Rheumatoid Arthritis, and multiple other auto-immune diseases that keep me down. But, God knows me, He knows where my heart is. I want to be better, I want to get up Sunday mornings and begin the day With HIM! So, I am going to keep trying. And, if you don't see me, remember I am trying. If you do see me, just smile!
I love all of those who are my true brothers and sisters in Christ! I know everyone has a need, everyone has something they need to do better. I will pray for you.
Have a great week!
blessings_of_a_momI was so glad to see you this morning. Enjoy your good days while you have them. That is what I have to do everyday or depression sets in.
lilyhi mrs. shipley. Hows everyone doing?
grannygood days, good days that are tough. I know. BTW, have you had a look at http://www.ourhopeonline.com/ There are some good articles on there by Christans, and also address your health problems. I wish you would post your Dec 31st entry with them. I admire your keep-on-keeping-on attitude. Have a wonderful Mother's Day.
theoldoneThank-you Granny! I appreciate your encouragement! I hope you had a nice Mother's day too! mine was quiet, but very nice.
theoldoneMiss Lily, if you come back, tell me a little about yourself!
grannyTonya, your words were the very pick-up I needed. Every now and then we all need to hear we are doing something worthwhile for someone else.
motherofallHello, Tonya! I haven't been to your blog in a while. I'm sorry for your suffering and pain. I DO understand a lot about the autoimmune disorders, since my mother and sister suffer with them. I'm very, very sorry. Love to you and yours.

In Like a...? 03-07-08 01:17am EST
You have always heard, If March comes in like a Lamb,it goes out like a Lion, and vice versa. Well, I think so far, March is confused! )0(, should I smile, or should I frown?
Well, I have chosen to smile, with only two days of rain, that made many things miserable all over the place, except here, in my little corner of the world. Rejoice! And, the flu that lasted the whole month of Feb. finally feels gone! Rejoice!
Today was absolutely gorgeous, sunshine felt wonderful! Praise to Him! So, On top of all of those good things, Miranda comes home for a brief trip next week, on my b-day, while I am taking a science test! So, I won't get the first hug at the airport, but I am gonna get all of them I can while she's here!
I am ready to spring these time keepers forward, praying for a nice warm Spring!
Love to you all!
I have missed many of you, and I am glad to be back on track. Class last night at G-burg was good. It ended a perfect day!
Keep Him First Always,
Tonya

curlie:)

blessings_of_a_momThe snow is coming. But smile anyway, it takes less muscles.
lromanicI can't see anything...just a white box... dial up - gotta love it! ;)
grannyYou think your weather is confused? You should see Africa. I don't think we ever managed to get to summer and here it is cooler and leaves are falling.

The liitle groundhogs had no sunshine this morning, but, they saw their shadow anyway?
Almost!
They had artificial lighting.

Have a great February!
! 1 extra day this month, its Leap Year!
4 weeks until March, my favorite month!!
blessings_of_a_momI missed you today. I hope you are feeling better. You are in my prayers. I know how you feel, and I want you to know that I am here for you.
lori_in_paI enjoyed the time with you the other day, too. Hope you feel better this morning. Love you.
mamaladyI could handle spring getting here early, although I do like the snow sometimes.
7laughinghardmansI start thinking about Spring usually on the first day of Winter!!
theoldoneI am there already!! My little crocus sprouts are up, and the sprouts of Daffodills are getting taler, I can see in my mind's eye its gonna be very pretty here soon!!!
theoldoneThe Daffodills are getting taller too, and the Tulip sprouts have appeared. Thanks for all of your kind thoughts. I have felt like a cavedweller for two weeks now. I strongly dislike the FLU!!! On top of a condition that the body aches all of the time anyway, you wonder, how much worse could I feel, then Bam, you get the flu. Today, I was out and about for the first time in those two weeks. I had so enjoyed the week spent with Natalie, Lori C., Mr. Newton, Dot and Pauline from Fairfield, that being stuck inside was awful. I didn;t go completely insane, and I had many helps, God, His Word, my guys, and water. Today, it felt strange to even drive. But, it was a successful day. My honey remembered it was V-day!!
edthanks for your comments! it's the middle of summer here.
aprilstarrHuzzah for warm weather!
theoldoneyes Mam! It was beautiful today!
autumn_rainAw Thank you so much! That means a lot. Love you! Have a lovely day:)

Snow 01-18-08 12:37am EST
white crystals of sparkling light
dancing playfully making the land bright
its cold, but not gray
it awakens the soul to a brand new day
Spiritually, it reminds us of purity
Physically, it reminds us of the seasons coming and going.
This one is for fun and frolic, sledding and crunching
Its Spring though that gives us yet another glimpse of the Lord's beautiful creations, where all is new and fresh.
Next, we find long, sunny bright happy days of summer, a rest from some duties, yet busy with new ones.
Autumn, again, beautiful too, but somehow it seems to come too soon.
Won't it be wonderful in heaven, to have everything beautiful all of the time?
7laughinghardmansBeautiful! Did you write this?
mamaladyNice : )

Is that your student id in the corner?
blessings_of_a_momWhat a lovely poem. I am certainly enjoying the snow.
