Back To School 12-31-08 12:38pm EST
I start student teaching on Monday, Jan. 5, 2009. Despite the picture, I am excited and I am looking forward to the next 12 weeks. I will be student teaching at Alpena, AR. I will be observing and eventually teaching the only history courses taught in this small school. There is only one history teacher and he teaches all the subjects! I am excited. I will be commuting from Branson to Alpena, only a 30-40 minute drive one way. The best thing about student teaching is that my work hours at the college are done! For those of you who do not know, part of attending College of the Ozarks means that you work 15 hours a week on campus and one 40 hour week during each semester in exchange for paid tuition. So, ever since my first day on campus, back in 2005, I have been working 15 hours a week for my tuition. However, since I am student teaching this semester, I have been working extra hours and 'banked' up my hours so I dont have to work! Yea! Next step is getting used to waking up early to be at school 7:45 every morning. My first classes on campus didn't start until 9:00am. I am getting that much closer to graduation; May 2009!!
momsterYou are for sure getting close...congratulations!! I know you are looking forward to the student teaching...let us know how it goes....say hi to Jason.
holly_annWhat an adventure! Sounds exciting!

Thanksgiving Week! 11-24-08 12:37pm EST
What a fun weekend we had. My parents, aunt and uncle, and Jason and I went to watch the Razorbacks and MSU basketball game on Saturday. The game was at the new MSU basketball arena, JQH Arena! We were literally on the second row from the top. It was very high and hot way up in the nose bleed section. I was almost dizzy from how high up we were. It was Jason's first college basketball game ever. He enjoyed it even though the Razorbacks lost.
This week I have to work at school. This is my 40 hour work week. I am planning to work long days so I dont have to stay all week. I am for sure not going to be here at school on Thursday. I am planing to be at mom and dad's that day.
Sooooo, I only have 9 official school days left! The rest are testing days. I am excited that classes are almost over. After this semester, I am going to be student teaching in Alpena, Arkansas. I am looking forward to student teaching. The cooperative teacher seems to be fun and I like his teaching methods.
I hope everyone has a good week, no matter where you might be this week.
uogirWohoo for you!!
holly_annI'm glad you had a good weekend. Happy thanksgiving! Student teaching sounds exciting, keep us updated!

Conway, Arkansas 10-01-08 04:13pm EST
Last weekend, Sept. 27-28, Jason and I went to Conway for a "vacation." On Saturday, we went to the Hwy 65 Church of Christ for a singing. R.J. Stevens was there and he held a singing for the congregation. The congregation there has been doing this for almost 5-6 years now. I have had the opportunity to attend the last 4 years. The next morning, we worshiped with the Prince Street Church of Christ congregation. It was a wonderful experience. We met some wonderful people. After services, we were invited to a group get together. There was much, much food. It was a good time. We met more people and made new friends. I loved it.
Oh, by the way, our house guest has moved out! He found a cabin out by the lake over by Kimberling City. Yeah!! So, if anyone needs a place to stay while they are Branson, MO, we now have our extra bed/bath back. I hope everyone is doing well right now. Thank you for your constant prayer and thoughts.

holly_annThat sounds so fun! I'm glad things worked out with your house guest :)
nolongerwiseRyan is an RN (nurse). He is about to start working for a national agency that has positions all over the US. They put nurses in hospitals that can't find enough staff to fill their positions. This agency will send us to a city for three months. They will put us up in a furnished apartment. After the three months is up, we pick where we want to go next. They tell us what positions are available, and we pick which one we want. I am really excited about travelling! Ryan is the one that has to start a new job every three months, but he is really excited about seeing new places also. It should be fun!
momsterThere are a couple of people here on pleonast from Prince Street also...
momsterThat would be great if you guys could make it...I know Chris would love to have you both there. To the Atlanta area for us is approx 10-11 hours (I think that is right). For you google says it would be about 11 hours.

A new start! 08-21-08 05:48pm EST
So, I start school next week, 8-25-08. I am excited because I can finally say I am almost done. I have this fall semester to finish and then I student teach in the spring. I am done! I have one whole year! I am very excited and nervous to finish school.
We have a live-in room-mate. One of Jason's friends from Texas decided he wanted to move up here and get a fresh start at life. Okay, so, he moved in with us. It has been almost two months. It has actually gone by quickly, but Jason is getting tired of him already. I was a little surprised and glad to hear Jason say he is ready for his friend to move out. So, we are just going to have a sit down discussion with him soon. Poor Jason, he is getting a little annoyed with his friend being here. He moved here to better himself but Jason doesnt think he is even trying. We will see what happens in the future.
In other news, Jason and I are doing great. Seems like we get closer everyday and find a deeper love for each other. Other than the day-to-day stuff, we are doing just fine.
momsterI am so glad to hear you are doing well...Tell Jason I said hello too. Good luck with the "sit down discussion" with his friend...I pray it all goes well. So excited for you about school too. :)
