Hello!
Thank you all who thought of us and prayed for our safe travel yesterday. Every thing went surprisingly well. Nicolai was a trooper, and thought he had a whole airplane of people dedicated to entertaining him. ;-) He did enjoy all the extra attention, and only had one breakdown on our third plane of the day. By then it was midnight his time, and he'd had enough. Thankfully he was asleep before takeoff. The rest of the time he was fine and happy, and boy, were we thankful.
*Side note: Not that any of you would, but in case you are ever tempted to give "dirty looks" at mothers with screaming babies in public (especially on public transportation), please stop and consider that they may have had a VERY long day, and giving dirty looks will only cause more tension and will not make the mother "do something" to quiet the baby (as if they aren't already trying to?). And really, if you can't handle ten minutes of a crying baby who is exhausted, you have problems, and I feel sorry for you. Okay, end of venting. :-)
Last night Nicolai slept from 6 p.m. till 12:30 a.m., which is his normal time of awakening (7:30 a.m. Budapest time). I had gotten in bed at ten, after being awake for around 24 hours, so I wasn't exactly ready to play like he was. Nanna to the rescue...after he realized who she was, she kindly offered to take him while I slept a little. By then it was around 2:30 a.m. I woke again around 4:30 to everyone being up, and up we've been ever since. Mom's resting now, after zero sleep last night. Nicolai will hopefully fall asleep again soon, but he's awfully curious about everything. I'm hoping he will go to bed at a more "normal" time tonight, but we'll see.
We are very much looking forward to seeing everyone soon! We have an insanely busy schedule for the next 6 weeks with us traveling to AL, MO, KY, OK, AR, NJ, NY, RI, not counting the ones we'll drive through to get to where we're supposed to be. Please pray for our safety and our sanity. :-)
Thanks, and see you soon!
MMT
