I am posting mainly to see if the conversation on my page will stay on the previous entry, or move up to this one. I would like to point out that I welcome the conversation as it livens up my page a little bit.
In all seriousness though I would like to let everyone know that I have found a job. It is a "temporary" job with the State, but who knows if everything goes well it could turn into something. My new boss (Mickey Ford Jr) started as a temp 20 years ago, so you never know. I will continue to look for something more permanent, but it feels much better looking for a job while I have one.
Well it is getting late, so I am going to call it a night, but I will try to post a little more often in the future.
I am glad for you Jared! Hope the continued job hunt goes well! Completely agree with the last post! I have gotten more upbeat about Obama. I really hope that he succeeds in things becaue that can only help the US!
I would hope that everyone on here is disappointed with tonight's election results. Though we may not understand why (and if we did we may be even more scared), we must understand that God is in control of all of this (as Aaron pointed out so well on Sunday). This is one of those things that is hard to understand since Obama stands against God on nearly every moral issue, but he has been placed in this position to fulfill God's will. We see situations like this time and time again in the Old Testament.
Sticking to my original post though I will tell you that I am exceptional, but trying to get better. Our King is still in charge, and we know that will never change!
Yes, I totally agree with you. My sister and I prayed last night for the outcome of the election to be according to His will, and if having Obama as a president serves to His ultimate will, we must realize that everything will work out for the better in the end. ^_^ Plus, maybe He's giving us an opprotunity to allow us to testify our faith to the world. ^_^ Just a positive spin on a bleak outcome. ^_^
^^ it really makes you think about how the isrealites must have felt, and we have been thinking, that if our faith is outlawed, how Paul and Silas felt. If we are thrown in jail we'll be prepared! : )
cool. I honestly wouldn't make a good salesmen, well woman I guess. Well, being as young as I am I don't have a job, but I hope to either be a stay at home mom, or work in a bakery.
Yep!! SO TRUE! I was just thinking the other say that in all the times I've seen Obama on tv(which, mind you, has not been alot) I have never heard him mention God. Well, come to think of it, I'm not sure that I heard McCain mention God either. I am just hoping that in 4 years we will have a great rebuplican running for president...I miss Mr. Aaron's sermons and I would have especially liked to hear that one! I can't wait to some back to West Broad!!!!!!! Well, I guess I will talk to you later...Hope Cassia's birthday was AWSOME!!!!!! And I hope she decided to go to the Dragon! Talk to ya l8er!
Guess what? I'M IN OHIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!! I might try and call you later...I don't know but anyway, hope your having an exceptional day and I'm sure you are now knowing that I'm in Ohio! jk :-) Talk to ya lata...
I am so excited that we have the opportunity to vote. It didn't turn out how I would have planned, but I felt comforted nontheless. How 'bout a little more betterer?

I am giving up on being a lurker as I have now joined. For those who know me the title of this entry and my user name will make perfect sense. For the rest of you though I thought I would give a little explanation. The short version of it is that if you ask me how I am doing this will be my answer most of the time.
I have alrady been greatly encouraged by many of you here, and am confident that I will continue to be. I hope now that I can bring some encouragement to some of you.
Today I encourage you to examine your attitude. When someone asks you how you are doing, how do you respond? Is it a monotone good, or even worse the monotone alright? That used to be how I would answer, but now I answer with enthusiasm and use much more positive terms, and now I feel better, and I am sure it makes those around me feel better also. Now I am nowhere near perfect, and have a lot to learn, but this is an area that I have worked on and hope I can help everyone. None of us are perfect, but if we share our strengths with each other and admit our own weaknesses (most importantly to ourselves) then we can all become stronger in our service to God together.
When I have talked to people about this sometimes people ask, what if I am not excellent? Well the simple answer is always be excellent. While I know there will be exceptions to this, I am not joking. The positive responses will help with feeling better, but it has to be backed up by an attitude of if I am in Christ what in this world can prevent me from being excellent? There will be times where things in this world will discourage us, but we have to go back and dwell on our foundation that "This world is not my home, I'm just a passing thru".
We as Christians must be the light to this world, if our "light" comes packaged in an unenthusiastic, depressed attitude it will not be very appealing.
So lets all work hard on our own positive attitudes and help encourage each other when the struggles of this life try to get in the way of our happiness.
Sorry, allow me to introduce myself. i am the sister of lonely_stargazer, and I read your comment. Thank you for your encouragement to her. She is really down right now, and i am tryig to help her. I also noticed that you are new to pleo. WELCOME! My name is Kaitlin.
Today marks my one week anniversary of non-lurker status. It has been such a fun week. I was welcomed so warmly that I wanted to be sure to do the same to the next newbie that comes along. Thank you for your true words in this post. It's a lesson we all need.
Thank you for your comment on my page. ^_^ I'm glad that I encouraged you. And I agree with your post and definately try to do more of that in my life. ^_^ Sometimes it's so easy to be pessimistic and let your spirits get down, especially when you feel like you're the only Christian in the situation that you're in (like college), but reading posts like this and hearing from my Christian friends really helps me. I don't know what I'd do without people like you or my other friends. ^_^
