txbowler	The whole house is tile, and most of it is very uneven, so standard vacuums don't work well. I think it's a Ridgid.

One or One

I recently had a short debate with my 2nd favorite U2 freak about who's song titled One was better.

It just so happens that my favorite song of all time is Metallica's One, and his favorite song of all time is U2's One.

They are completely different songs, not remakes of each other. (Although U2's One came out later, so it should really be called Two.)

So, my question to you is, which One do you prefer?

mikejohnsontx	How is this even considered a serious question? Doesn't U2 know that since they don't have James Hetfield, that they should just go home to Ireland and eat potatoes? I mean they have Bono Vox. Bono Vox???? Good voice???? I don't think so.
thejames	mikejohnsontx is obviously a big enough U2 fan to know that bono used to go by bono vox... seeing as how he hasn't since about 1981.

txbowler	not necessarily true, I am not really a Sting fan, but I know his given name is Gordon Sumner, and apparently his band sings the song Dream Police according to the 11-year music experts on our camping trip.
thejames	look, here's the deal in regard to this "debate". first off, it's not really a debate because people are always entitled to their preferences. secondly, if you're going to try and argue that metallica's 'one' has maintained anywhere near the level of popularity that U2's has you're just going to be fighting an uphill battle. U2's 'one' transcends genres. even most casual music fans are familiar with their song, whereas most casual music fans are not familiar with metallica's. and there's really no arguing that. so there is no question that U2's 'one' is bigger; better is simply a matter of tastes.
txbowler	The question was which do you prefer, so that's the only "point of debate" that is relevant in this post. Nothing else matters. :-) Get it? Nothing Else Matters
