enjoy! The second clip with the cars was presented at at confrenece I went to a few days ago..we were talking about how to encourage kids to use self control and this clip was used as an example of what can happen if you don't. Needless to say it had everyone at the conference laughing!
Tyler! Thank you for all of your ideas!!! Keep 'em coming! I love them, seriously...it's so helpful, especially just to get the ball rolling. I really like the nursing home/hospital ideas b/c they really could result in some interesting stories and emotional pictures, but I already talked to my professor about that and he said there is too much patient privacy stuff to deal with and that we should kind of shy away from that. BUT, some of those other ideas are stinkin awesome! Thanks cousin, and I'm glad I got to see you this weekend!
So I have enjoyed getting to read other people's blogs and finding out 8 things about them. My cousin Dianna tagged me, so I guess it's my turn to share some info. about me. So, without further ado, here goes! :)
8 things you may OR may not know about me:
1. I am working for Marble Falls ISD as a Teaching Assistant.
2. My favorite flavor of ice cream is coffee (also a huge chocolate fan)!
3. I am a twin
4. I once had a big blue van complete with shag carpet on the floors and walls. Groovy!
5. I was a pirate in a school play in college (Pirates of Penzance).
6. I like to sing Karaoke (not that great but it sure is fun). I'll say a little prayer for you....! :)
7. I am related to a somewhat famous lawyer (Ken Starr- 2nd cousin).
8. I have a huge awesome, amazing family...pretty much anywhere I go I am related to someone. :)
Oooo, you should try the coffee and chocolate ice creams together. Mocha flavor is awesome! Gilbert and Sullivan stuff is fun - did you have to sing "I'm a modern major general"?
You are a twin!!!!!!!!!!!!?????Get out! :)
I was also in Pirates of Penzance at FC and played the part of Ruth. But, you and Nathan can now be BFF's because he too was a pirate. Sa-weet!
I really didn't know you were related to Kenn Starr. That's pretty cool. You should totally use that as a selling point for a really cool job in radio or tv, I am sure it could get you points. Other than that, I hope you are doing great!
thanks cuz for the thoughts! You make a great point, knowing that my life is totally changing past this point makes it even more difficult to want to go back. Now I have to find a job and start working and such. Even though I´ve been working here, it still feels like I have less responsibility than when I return and enter into the "real world"
all I know is that I am tired!! All is pretty good here. Tim started band camp, blah. Amanda said to tell you hello next time I talked to you. She is doing good there in TN. I sure miss all our "good times"! We are going to find out if its a boy or a girl in about 5 more weeks. I am hoping for twins on Valentines :) for boys we were thinking, tyler and simon, for girls we thought about tylena and simona, what do you think?
Hi! I just discovered you were on here. Small world, huh? It's not the same hanging out with your twin without you there! You need to come up and visit.
Hey Tyler! I am sorry we haven't gotten to hang out lately! It's just been so busy with the new job and getting adjusted down here and everything. BUT my birthday is this Sunday and my sisters are coming into town (I believe) so you should come hang out Sat. night
Well I am really starting to get used to the feeling of rejection. I called up to the middle school yesterday where I had my latest interview to see what the status of the job situation was and to let them know that I was still really interested in the position. I had to leave a voice message on the principal's phone. And I checked my e-mail today and who did I have a message from...the principal's secretary stating that I did not get the job. It is a little frustrating... but oh well! There still alot to be thankful for! :)
that would be cool, then we could be roomies! :) My friend works at Apple in Austin and he´s looking into a job for me, so I´m going to see how that goes but I may get in touch with Burnet also and see what they think! Thanks for keeping your eyes on jobs for me while I´m gone!
haha! nope i never saw it, but i heard it was terrible! these birds have been really nice to us so far!! every time i come home, i go check on the little guys and make sure no one has fallen out. its kinda like having a pet that you didnt have to pay for, and dont have to take care of!! :D
well i was at cedar park this last weekend, but i guess you forgot and i forgot to remind you!! lol! im coming back in a week or so for my brother's wedding and i will be at cedar park on the 27th. i dont really have time to hang out because of family stuff though... are you going to the kleinwood singing?? a bunch of us in CS are carpooling down there together if you want to go with us!!!! Its on August 1st. hopefully soon i can release you from your boring friends (ie yourself). haha!! jk!
Tyler ...your comment on Dianna's page was sooo funny. You will say anything to get people into Bertram. I have to say though that Mary's Beef and Buns IS like dinning in luxury!:)
Okay, I'm not being a copy cat...but I just came over here to say pretty much what my sister just said! I guess we think alike:) You made me laugh so hard on Diannas page!
Hahaha!! Cousin, you be cracking me up!! Do you think there are any openings at the Hairston B&B?? Check the calendar and we'll make arrangements to check-in! lol
hey one of my friends who lives in austin is coming to the CS to carpool with us to houston. i bet she would let you ride with her! shes actually gonna be my roommate next year, so we are really close. :) it would be so fun if you could go!
yeah, I can get calls, but it always says Unknown ID so sometimes I don't answer and it costs $1/min. but it would be cool to talk for a few minutes if you want to call!
hey Tyler!! We've been trying to decide if we'll be able to make it to Lectures this weekend. I'd like to, but I just don't think we can make it. Jesse is supposed to help his sister move on Saturday morning from Austin to Houston. So anyways, are you going? We'll have to try to find the time to get together to hang out before school starts again!
Well I just finished my job interview for a possible position at Burnet Middle School. I felt like the interview went well... but you always seem to have a little bit of doubt in your mind afterwards. It helped that I already knew the people I would be interviewing with. They aren't sure exactly what position they are needing to fill so I really cant tell you for certain what position I interviewed for. They said that they aren't quite sure what the teaching positions are going to be availabe. The possibilities could range from history and coaching all the way to a math position ( which I would definitley not qualify for). Anyways I'm not going to hold my breath..but it was good practice nonetheless!
It has also struck me lately how much everyone's lives are changing. People are getting married, graduating, having birthdays, having kids, having kids birthdays, moving, traveling, retiring, buying new homes, etc. Wow! did I just fast forward ten years or what! :) Here's a toast to life! Cheers!
Cheers! I hope you get a position! I'm still waiting to hear back on a couple of interviews I've been on. It is good practice, but I feel the same way afterwords: I guess it went ok, but you just never know...
Well hello there! Glad your interview went well. Are you going to be in town this weekend?? I hope so, cause I will be at CP on Sunday! Give me a call Saturday if you aren't busy cause some of us are trying to get together and hang out! :)
I hope the job works out!! If it helps you any, I was informed the other day I was too old to hang out with college kids anymore.....and play cops and robbers with the kids alseep in the back seat! hahaha
Mama O is in the house! What have you been doing!! I just foudn out about this whole pleonast thing, I feel old and out of date! I can't believe all the people who are on here!! Good luck finding a job!
