I couldn't sleep for some reason, and I hadn't posted anything for a while; so I thought I'd talk about the last couple of months. In mid September we took a trip to Orlando for Baby Amelia's birthday (couldn't miss that!). It was a great trip and we had a wonderful time! She was the perfect little 1st birthday princess and we all enjoyed her party very much! We had a lot of fun swimming with the kids and going to Animal Kingdom Lodge for a great dinner. While we were there you folks here had a hurricane. How ludicrus is that! By the time we got back, we only had to put up with the power outage for a couple of days. That was enough! We did have some damage. We lost some gutters, and the cloth top from our gazebo was ripped to shreds; but I guess it could have been worse!
As many of you already know, when I got back from my trip to Florida in August my brother Steve was in the hospital. He died two weeks later. It was a terrible tragedy and very hard to bear. He was only 58 years old. I want to thank everyone who sent your thoughts and prayers our way during our time of grief. It meant so very much! Please continue to remember his children Brandon 28, Evan 25, and Heather 23. He meant so much to them.
As so often happens, though , our sorrow is turned to joy. On September 10, my sister Laurie (who's 47!) gave us a beautiful baby boy! His name is Eli, and I know he will be a great blessing to all of us!
This is long and I'm going to stop. Thanks for reading! May you all have a lovely fall, and may God's blessings be upon us!!!
I love you so much and i love our famly. It is such a blessing to have so many christians in the family that we can count on nfor love, prayers and support in hard times. you need to come up soon and go to the outlets with mom and i!
John & Jane Casebolts's son (Kristopher & his wife) had a baby girl. However, there is a problem with her heart. If you go to my blog, click on Jane C. or Shawnee C. for all the details. I think she was having her 1st surgery today. I just now got on here though (Fri. night) & saw your comment first so I replied to you. I haven't done anything else on here yet.
I'm just glad they made Georgia sweat; that's an accomplishment for Kentucky...I'm hoping Auburn can do the same this week. A win over Vandy would satisfy me and then let's finally beat those Vols!!!
They came to H. L. Sunday night and we got to see them. I don't think they realized how many people they would know there. Judy Corum and her sister and a bunch of other people. Some who have relatives at Lost River. It was great and they look just like they always have.
^What's wrong with Norman. Also how is Joyce doing? Virginia said she was having problems. I will tell Lou Ann you said hi. She loves hearing from anyone from Gardiner Ln. Thats home to her. Oh how did Bob Harbison do with his ear surgery. Grandma wanted to know. She hasn't heard from Milton yet.
Certainly your grandchildren are cute they take after their grandma. lol They are beautiful children no joke. Wish Louann could come back with me but I don't think she could take the trip. Coming up there this past summer about did her in. Glad Norman is doing O.K.
I've been gone from Pleo for a few weeks now and a busy few weeks they've been! Chris, Lori and the kids arrived here on the 13th of July. That first week we celebrated Lori's birthday and Abigail's birthday. They left on Thursday for a short visit to Bowling Green and I prepared for our family reunion (my Mom's family) at Kentucky Dam Village State Park. We met back up there on Friday evening along with about 50 (or more) other Shutts for a weekend of eating, golfing, eating, swimming, eating, singing, scrabble playing (along with many other much sillier games), eating, a great talent show, a little more eating, and we topped it all off with a wonderful worship service on Sunday morning before we had to say goodbye! We do this every other year and we have such a wonderful time!! Mom at 83 was the oldest in attendance and our little Amelia was the youngest at 10 months. Chris flew back to Florida on Monday afternoon to get back to work. On Tuesday we had to start getting ready to go again, and we left for Bowling Green on Wednesday after Bible Study. Norman and I took Aidan with us so he could spend a little more time with the other kids before they had to go back. We stayed at Norman's mom and dad's but on Thursday night we went to Nathan and Sara's house for supper where we got to visit with some old friends. On Friday we left Norman and Aidan to come home alone and Lori, the kids and I left for Florida. We would have made really good time if we hadn't run over something in the road and had a flat tire about 20 miles north of Tipton, Ga. As it was we rolled into the driveway about 2a.m. with four very tired little kids. I spent a great 10 days with my kids and my grandbabies. We went to Disneyworld a couple of times, we put on sunscream and got in the fwimming pool ( as Abbey would say) a few times, we watched some movies, played some Wii and attended services at Fortune Road with their wonderful new church family. Oh, I shopped some, too! I flew home yesterday and got in about 4:30, tired but happy!! It may take me a few days ot recuperate, but we took Aidan to Bible Study tonight and I have to go back and keep him tommorrow (I missed him so much), so I'll be back in the swing of things pretty quick. Hope to be talking to everyone soon!! Look down under my last post for some pictures that Lori posted.
Gotta love "sun-scream" Thank for coming to spend time with us. We all enjoyed your visit very much. Maybe if Gramps will really retire you can come more often. Have a great weekend.
Hi Kathy! Sounds like you had a great time during all of your travels! Glad your home safe and sound. I'm sure the Louisville crowd miss you tons!! We'll be down in a few weeks. Looking forward to seeing everyone!!
I was so sorry to hear about Steve. Prayers for your whole family. Your poor Mom has really had alot to bear but God will see her through it. Love and prayers.
Sure did enjoy visiting with your Mom Tuesday. She looks alot better than at Bob & M.J.'s anniversary party. Now I know where she lives maybe we can stop in and see her when we go to the chiropractor.
When I tried to do the slideshow I had remarks on there that I was sorry. I should have looked at it more carefully and took another one. It's still our sweet Kathy.
I know. :( I don't like winter either. It's cold and everything dies... and I just want to stay in my house wrapped up in a blanket beside the fireplace! BOO winter! But I do love fall! :D
Lori told me about Sheb and Steve H's brother. Also I did not know about the girl that Chris went to school with that was killed by the tree falling on her. She said she had worked in the Dr's office where they took the children when they lived here. I asked Lori if she had any good news!!!! Sorry about your cousin.
My Uncle Gene passed away today at about 5:00p.m. Thanks so very much for all prayers said on his behalf. He would have appreciated it so much. Please continue to remember Aunt Mae, the children, grandchildren, and all of us who loved him.
I wish we could have been there Wed. for the funeral but I had my Dr's appt. and couldn't get out of it. It is so sad but Mae has or seems to have a good attitude and I know she will rely on God to get her through all of this. Her kids have really come through for her.
Hey sis-in-love! Mo and I are going to try and get to your mom's tomorrow to do some tidying up outside, weather permitting. She is being driven nuts by the mess on her patio!! We need to talk about baby showers and Sam's boys. How does your week look?
Can't say you didn't have an exciting 4th. Twice in one day to the hospital. Fun, fun, fun. Our oldest came to get the dog and we grilled out they ate, we played a couple of games of cornhole and they left. It was rather quiet at that. I scrapbooked that morning thinking no one was coming. Hope things are going better for the boys now.
Hit the wrong button. I hate this keyboard. Anyway as I was saying other people don't know that we really love one another or we couldn't say the things we do. I got a good picture of you and your mom at Bob & Mary J. party. Are they home? Should be guess I should call so I can get their pictures to them. Love you.
We are not leaving until Sat morning, due to Chris work and Aaron with strep. We want everyone to rest will on Fri. night before our travels. This will not affect our arrival time in L'ville. We are not going to spend as much time in B.G. if any.
Did Peggy call you about the reunion? I will need some help with the invitations this year as I am working almost non-stop. Try to remember the bring those clothes that Brad dropped off for you. We will talk later.Love ya
My uncle, Gene Dezern, had a massive stroke yesterday morning and is in very critical condition at Norton's Hospital. Please keep him and my Aunt Mae and all the family in your prayers. Thank you so much!
I was so sorry to hear about your uncle. My parents have called me everyday to keep up with him & see if there had been any progress/change. They really liked him & enjoyed talking to him while they were all walking at the mall. They said he will be greatly missed over there (Jefferson Mall.)
Missed you too. but I was so tired I could not put one foot in front of the other. Been getting up every morning this week at 5;00am and driving to the Lex area for classes. I was sound asleep at 7:30. I am glad that stint is over. See you Sunday
Grandma told me about you teasing her about sneaking a grandbaby in on her. She really enjoyed getting to see everyone. We made the mistake of letting Stan play skip bo with us and he's won more than we have. We're having a good time with her. Just can't stay long enough.
Having A BALL!!!! Gave all your kisses to the kids. Getting ready to go get Abbu to take her to Monkey Joe's and then swim with the kids till church time. They are all so sweet and we had a great time at the Magic Kingdom yesterday. Loved Small World. Had never rode it before. See ya soon.
The concert went really well last night. They did a great job with their skit! It was really cute! We are glad all things school related are now over. Save swim lessons and music lessons, we are going to sit around and be as dumb as possible!!;)
