Jana and I had a great time on our recent trip to Savannah. Our men were out of town so we decided to venture out on a little trip of our own.
We had a great time. We rode the orange and green trolley during our sight seeing tour with a great guide...(I think Jana was the youngest person on there!) We learned quite a bit of history and saw quite a few "interesting" folks along the way. We ate and ate and ate at the Paula Deen "Lady and Sons". It was fantastic food. We also saw a show from the 50's that the hotel had recommended. I felt like I was at a Broadway show. It was local people singing but it was so so good!
I was quite the scarity cat when it came to walking around at night..Jana reminded me to "just walk as if your not a tourist and don't stare!"
I think my age is showing because I never quite caught on!
We loved the beautiful trees with the moss hanging on them and even learned that in the "olden days" pillows were stuffed from the "chigger" filled moss...which is where the phrase, "sleep tight..don't let the bed bugs bite" came from! Neat, huh?
Sounds like fun. That is so neat that you and Jana were able to go off for the weekend and enjoy each other. Jana is such a special young lady. I am very blessed that Matt is part of such a wonderful family. I would love for all of you to come and visit us in Texas sometime. Julie and her babies--too. There is plenty of room for everyone out here in Crosby.
Thanks! I saw Julies blog - ok Caroline and Jackson are soo adorable - he is a beautifuly little boy...and Caroline I thnk is a perfect mix of you and Julie - just soo cute! I'd love for us to get all the kids together sometime, it would be so much fun!! Hope you all had a great halloween - and I'm jealous of your trip to Savannah - I wanted to go so bad and we went to Hilton Head one year and were going to make a trip but i was sooo sick pregnant with Peyton I couldnt even make the trip! (and I could just taste everything in Paula Deens restaurant!) hope you had a great time!!
Thanks vicki - it was a wonderful funeral, just as it should be when a faithful christian dies whose lived such a long and wonderful life. We wound up flying out of the b'ham airport which I hadnt been to in forever, brougth back alot of memories of flying in there so often to see everyone!! :)
What a fun weekend! Justin and his friends camped out at ESPN gameday! My sweet Mark, ...camped too.... in a very small little tent..next to them..and listened to the LOUD sounds... all night long of a college town before the big game. Still "feeling it" this Monday morning he says...but worth it to see 3 ...16 year old boys enjoy themselves at a BIG game like LSU!
We all loved being with Jana and Matt and of course...TEX. Loved the services Sunday Morning at University church of Christ...great singing and preaching!
Thanks, but no. It would be too big and fragile to carry backpacking. I'm taking our small camera. I'm sure you and Jana will be able to use it! Hope y'all have fun.
Hey Vicki--hope you and Jana are having fun--I just got to see Dana and she was hoping you and Jana were coming for the fundraiser. Maybe--you can come next year---we'll have to start planning early. I would have loved for y'all to come.
Hi...I am VERY new at this sort of thing...but would like to be more in touch with Christian women who are moms with older children like me. I am the proud mom of Jana Bice Hall and Julie Bice Norris and Justin Bice. Justin is 16. I also have 2 beautiful grandchildren who are Caroline 3 and Jackson 4 months.
Hope to learn of gatherings and news of interest like Bible studies etc...especially youth gatherings during summer months.
Hi Vicki. Good to see you on here. I haven't been very good about adding new post---but I just got a new computer-so maybe I will be more active. I would love to see pictures of Caroline and Jackson. Jana showed me some pictures Julie sent her while we were in Alabama--they were precious.
