I saw Twilight with a friend tonight. Kind of funny, there were very few of us in the theater over the age of 18. It was packed!
The movie was very true to the book. The purity of their relationship was maintained. The overall tone was darker and more brooding than I pictured when I read the book, but that may have been just my interpretation. The characters were well cast. A very nice evening out.
I was happy to see that Fireproof is still being shown in that theater, even after all this time.
For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)--then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries, whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a reviling accusation against them before the Lord.
Courtney's sick. She has a low-grade fever and her throat sounds awful. She still insists on getting up and wandering about the house with a glazed look in her eye, telling Brett what to do. She's such a funny child. Brett seems not to have anything, and I hope it stays that way!
She's just preparing herself for one day being a wife and mother! ;) We women have to start building up our endurance early! :) I hope she's feeling better soon. Give her a big hug for me.
Wednesday is NASA Homeschool Day. We're so excited! My brother will go with us and take one kid so I can take the other. The kids have been arguing about which of them gets to go with Uncle John. I'd also like to take the kids to see some of the hurricane destruction on Galveston. I'd like for them to see some of the reality of hurricanes so that they can learn to respect them. See y'all around!
most definitely...especially the last week or so...the closer it gets the more it drags on...but we're enjoying the time spent together and the excitement of waiting for the big day :-)
OK, I have been thinking about this way too hard, because I'm a perfectionist, a fact which could be on the list except that anyone who knows me at all already knows it.
1. I love to read historical fiction and fantasy.
2. If I could meet anyone in any time (besides Jesus) it would be my grandmother on my mom's side, when she was young.
3. The kids and I are WAY too busy, despite me efforts to keep us un-overly-busy.
4. If I could be any animal, it would be an eagle, but I'm scared of heights...
5. My favorite place to visit is Fredericksburg.
6. My favorite composer is Mozart.
7. If I could visit anywhere on earth, it would be Australia.
8. If I could live in any time, I would have been an American pioneer.
