OK, so I've been tagged, and I guess that means I HAVE to post, so...
8 interesting things about me:
1. I like to draw, and I'm thinking about doing something with that in my future. I would post some of my stuff, but I don't really want it on the web where anyone can do whatever they want with it.
2. I can never decide on a favorite color. It's not like it depends what mood I'm in, I just like different things about all of them.
3. I hate getting up in the morning, but I like being up early.
4. I'm allergic to socks.
5. I decided when I was like 10 that I wanted to be an author.
6. I once had a dream about a giant mutant rolly-poly bug.
7. I live the secret life of a yellow power ranger. She's pink.
So school started again on Wednesday. So far I'm having fun this year, especially compared to last year. I really enjoy most of my subjects. Here's my schedule:
Acc. American Literature
Advanced Fashion (sewing)
Acc. Physics
Lunch
German 4
Adv. Algebra
AP Psychology
Independent Living (how to balance your budget, buy a car, etc.)
Lit. is my favorite class this year. I love English already, but my teacher makes learning it fun. Kaylee has the same English teacher that I do, but she thinks he's a jerk. Not sure why, although I hear he doesn't like freshmen, so maybe he piles all the homework on them;P
I'm really surprised about my AP class though. Last year I took AP World, and on the second day of school my teacher gave us a 21 page packet to read, and we had to outline a chunk of it. This year in AP Psych we've hardly had any homework, and it's all been easy. But it's not like I'm complaining. I'm really hoping this class turns out to be easier than AP world.
This school year I really need to pick things up. Last year I majorly slacked off, and I was always tired and stressed out. So I'm changing my study habits and forcing myself to do the work I don't want to. Plus, it helps that I'm genuinely interested in many of the subjects I'm taking.
OK, that's all the news for now:)
Oh yeah, I got a car for my birthday. My aunt and uncle got a new car and mini van, so they gave me their old car. My dad's gonna try and fix the AC, heat, and a few leaks, but as long as the heat's working, I'm fine.
EDIT: Sorry for the previously small print; I did this post on my dad's computer, and it looked like pretty big print on that screen.
Cool! I've made a couple of dresses in the last few months. One is a semi-casual/business casual type, that I wear to church a lot; the other is a formal I made for a business awards banquet. I'd love to see pics of what you make, if you take any. :)
I checked out some of the pics from Michigan - they are fantastic! I know you have an interest in writing; but have you thought about photography as well?
At the beginning of this month, I went to Michigan and took a TON of pictures on my cell phone (after this post I'm going to see about getting those on here). I'm also going to see about getting camp pics on here. I think my photos are being developed right now, but I'm not sure if they're being put on a disk or not.
I've been really mad at my hair lately. When I went to Michigan, I left my shampoo there on accident and had to buy some new stuff. The funny thing is, I got some specifically for curly hair (Pantene Hydrating Curls), and it takes the curl out! That makes me really mad. The stuff I had before (Pantene Texturize) wasn't even made for curls and it works way better.
So yesterday was my birthday. We didn't really do much, because we're having a cookout for it on Friday, but I did get a Sima's cheesecake (which is the best cheesecake in the world). On Saturday I had my party with my mom's side of the family. I got a bunch of money, so that I can buy a digital camera if I save some more (actually, I have enough now, but I want to get a pretty good quality camera, so I thought I'd wait a little bit longer). Does anyone here know anything about digital cameras? I want some suggestions, because I have no idea where to start. Thanks!
EDIT: Go here to see my Michigan pictures. If it asks you for an access code, type in lisamaug07.
Olympus Stylus 1000 is a wonderful camera! I have 4 digital cameras and I love the Olympus the most! It has a great image stablilizer and takes good pics.
Yes, the camera takes b/w photos, as well as sephia. I know that it is weatherproof but do not think that it is "waterproof". It can withstand outdoor conditions (snow, rain, etc.) but probably not total immersion. I bought my camera from amazon.com and only paid $267 for it.
