Crawford was born yesterday morning at 5:03 am. He was 8 lbs. 7 oz. and 21 inches long. He has a full head of hair and is awake only at night it seems, although not fussy. He is doing great and we have had TONS of visitors at the hospital. We have many wonderful friends some who have driven 2-3 hours to see little Crawford. Thanks to all for prayers and thoughts concerning Emily's pregnancy and delivery. I will try and post a picture later. If you have access to facebook there are a bunch of pictures on my profile. If you don't have a facebook account, GET ONE, its worth it just to see the cutest baby in Birmgingham!!!
Here is a few pics for you non-facebookers (You shouldn't need an account to view these public links.)
So its hard to get into the normal Holiday spirit this year compared to years past. It's hard to understand that Christmas is only a couple of weeks away. However, I'm looking forward to this holiday season more than any before. The obvious reason is that I am , Lord willing, going to become the father of a healthy baby boy. I am so excited and am getting pretty anxious for the little guy to come. This is going to be the best Christmas present ever!!!! That really shouldn't surprise anyone I mean my big gift this year is from God.
If you are a parent what are 3 words you would use to describe your feelings after the birth of your first-born?
If you are not a parent yet would you like to come babysit during the night? I hear they don't sleep worth nothing. :o)
My attempt at predicting how I feel when the time comes: Proud (I will want to show pics to everyone I've ever talked to),Sober (big responsibility, not the least of which is relaying God's love to him), Wonder (Will it be to early to sign him up for T-ball this upcoming season? advice needed on that one)
i will definitely babysit! i also want to just see yall soon! i want to come see the baby too. i just miss my friends! i'm also quite positive that this child will be raised in the training and admonishion of the Lord. you and emily are both great Christian servants and will do a great job at raising another child of God.
I'm excited about baby Crawford coming soon. It won't be long! 3 words after Chris was born - Relief, Thankful, Excitement. Can't wait to see the little fella!
Humbled, LOVE, and adventure(that last one might need a little explaining - everything is so new like the first week of marriage. You don't know quite what to do and you just figure it out as you go along. It's an amazing ADVENTURE.) I'm so happy for you two!
immense responsibility and I realized how much Mom loved me and I felt so bad for the times I had disappointed her! Not three words but I couldn't pare it down. So exciting! May God bless each of you in the days and adventures ahead!
So I recently had a birthday. The only thing I could think of that I wanted was a good football. Not one of those sissy Wal-mart replica type balls but a nice real leather gameball. So, with a gift card from Em and some money from other folks I decided on the Wilson 1205 High School gameball. Nice football very pleased although haven't gotten to throw it outside yet. While I was at the store I thought to my self "hey stud, you have a middle school football field right across the road from your house, you should get one of those place kicker tees to kick field goals." So I did just that. I got one of the nice, heavy duty profesional ones too. When I was buying it the salsman asked if it was for my son. I informed him my son would arrive soon but that the tee was for me and that yes its just too hard to let the glory days go. I will probably not use my new football to kick FGs with because it would land on asphalt and get scuffed up. I did go out and kick FGs the other day with my dad and father-in-law and was pretty happy with my results. I kicked a 35 yarder with a slightly deflated ball. I figure I can get a 40 yarder by the end of the year. I also threw the ball 48 yards which I was pretty happy with since that's the first throwing of any kind of done in several months.
Have any of you ever tried kicking a FG? It is hard. Extra Points (20 yard FG) are a challenge. If you want to come visit me some time we'll go try it.
Haha...you crack me up! I'm glad such a simple thing can make you so happy...we need more of that these days. Best wishes to you & Em with the soon-to-come baby! You'll be a great dad! (Oh, and Happy Belated Birthday!)
You are a piece of work! You are still such a kid -- buying a tee and a new football (of course, I always see you in my mind playing with the "sissy Walmart replica type" football--that's you man!). Emily is about to be raising not 1 boy but 2!!
so cute, Andrew! Why do you remind me of Calvin of Calvin and Hobbes? I could just see you dragging around your little tiger friend and kicking FGs with him.
HA! I would have liked to have seen that little senario of you and your dad and father-in-law kicking field goals. :) LOVE Crawford's room, by the way.
I understand your point, but who would have thought that Phil would have been let go from Tennessee after falling one game short of an SEC championship last year?
No I do not agree with a lot of things that President-Elect Obama believes in, but... He is going to be our President and for that alone he deserves respect. I recognize the earthly power with which he has been entrusted by the Heavenly Father and intend to reflect that through my words and actions. I get so frustrated when the media, US citizens, comedians and others bash Presidents. If you want to Joke around about some of their quirks, ok...if its all in good fun, but I'm very dissappointed when I see SNL(& many other sources as well) skits that's sole purpose is to make President Bush or any other President for that matter look like an incompetent idiot. I believe world leaders of this magnitude deserve better and that is why I will respect our new leader. I will start by praying for him and our blessed nation.
