Turkey Day 11-27-08 09:40am EST
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Here's a list of a few things I think we should all be thankful for, even if we don't agree on everything:

1. The Lord our God for his wonderful creation and plan.
2. Our Savior and King, Jesus Christ, for his perfect example, selfless sacrifice, and unconditional love.
3. Our families who will always be there for us.
4. Our friends who are always honest with us, even if they think honesty will hurt us.

This is just the basics, nothing fancy or too deep in thought...I'm sure we all have so much more to add to this list.
bonnielassTrax is a long haired Chihuahua, I did not mean to erase your alls comments, it was an accident, I meant to delete the ones that I had posted like 5-6 times and said nothing on them, that's what I get for messing with my pleo entries, anwys, Happy Thanksgiving!

What I can't stand about people..... 11-06-08 02:55pm EST
Having a big mouth and not being able to back it up. Oh and also being so hypocritical that they can criticize others when they have the same problem if not problems that are far worse (not removing the plank from their eye before trying to remove the splinter from someone else's eye).

How much longer are we, as Christians, going to have to put up with complacency in a small percentage of Christians, which is growing like a virus, before we decide to do something about it?

There was a time among Christians when it wouldn't have been tolerated at all. Now, as long as it is only a small percentage of Christians than it is treated like it is just fine and there isn't a problem.

I know that all of us know of stories of Christians, if not know them ourselves, who have been found out to be doing things that are completely against the faith. When these things are talked about, it tends to get talked about as just another common occurrence. These are serious things that are not being taken seriously anymore.

A person with an addiction of some sort must first admit to it before it can be treated. As Christians as a whole, we must do the same. We must admit that there is a problem before we can begin to solve it. Once we admit there is a problem we have to deal with it directly and bluntly, not round about in a meek sort of way. Why? Because this will not just effect us but it will effect generations to come and will only become worse over time. I would hate to see what things would look like in 20 years if this problem is not dealt with now.

The best part of dealing with this problems is that all of us have short comings in some way, and we can come together dealing with this problem and then we will have the kind of help we need to deal with our own short comings to only become stronger individuals, which will make us all stronger in the end.
bonnielassMatthew 5:25 I think it is, if my memory serves me right
whitetiger78brianne, so big of you to comment on other people's weblogs when you won't let anyone comment on yours.
whitetiger78Besides, notice that the first sentences are about 'people' not 'christians'
brianneare Christian's not people too?
And the reason you can't comment is that I have my blog to PRIVATE is because I am a gold member...yeah, it pays to have it.
whitetiger78Brianne, first, since it's MY weblog I'll delete whatever I want. Second, the reason it says people at the beginning and not christians is cause I wasn't talking just about christians, I am related to, work around, and talk to people that aren't christians so it makes it a very broad generalization. It's sad that I have to explain that to you.
bonnielassBecause he said that all the people that he is friends with on here, he talks to in real life so he doesn't see the point in having a profile anymore :(
briannejust making sure it was a "generalization" since you seem to think I'm so confused about that...
bonnielassIt does and it doesn't, I guess he figures that whatever he would say online he could say in real life to his friends, so he doesn't see the point in posting. How are things going? What's new?
bonnielassSame here, I keep it, to keep in touch with old friends that don't live here, and the ones that live here that I never see
whitetiger78Hmm, Brianne, maybe you need to take this passage a little more to heart and start applying it to yourself. Also, why don't you pass it along to someone else who needs a healthy dose of it too. You two really deserve each other cause you're really just two of a kind, two people who just can't keep their mouths shut about anything and think it's your job to spread everyone else's business all over the place.
bonnielassYou are right, he does not look like a Chihuahua, but his owner says that he is a Blue and Black Chihuahua mix along with the breed Grey Pearl (or something like that)
bonnielassMy sister's friend Kiersten just told me that long haired Chihuahuas tend to look different in face shape than short haired Chihuahuas, which would sure explain a lot

And it all comes crashing down 07-04-07 10:04am EST
Have you ever had one of those days where it just seems that nothing can go right? Or one of those days where something bad happens and just when you think it can't get any worse, then it does?

Recent experience has shown me exactly what this is like and it's not pretty. I mean, to have everything go wrong and at the end of the day and nothing to show for it except being emotionally and mentally drained. Is this really how life is supposed to go? I know God lets things happen for a reason, but how are you supposed to see through things that are that bad and see something good that follows God's purpose?

I guess you can say I'm just a distraught Christian right now trying to find answers and not sure where to look.
spacehobbitReading the Bible had always helped me. Just reading through 1,2 and 3rd John is uplifting and a quicker read. It will all be good. Just rely on God to get you through. You don't have to see how everything is going to pan out, just trust that God is in control and trust in Him and you will be able to come out stronger than when you went in.
holmes245Sorry for being late in this reply. I hope things are going better for you. I know what you mean. I've been there too, and will be again. Reading passages like spacehobbit suggested is a good idea. Perhaps setting some time aside from everything and just meditating or praying. One thing I have to always keep reminding myself during those times is that my discipleship and committment to the Lord shouldn't depend on thing going my way. Many Christians can and do fall into that trap. Just keep keeping on.
rebecca_mckay_howellHey John! I'm doing great. I've been married for three years and we have a three month old daughter. It's great to hear from you. What have you been up to?
jenjamHi John. We are all 3 doing great. Good to hear from you.
grizzlytwelveThis Adam here. You know "Grizz". Drop by my page sometime.
danmadrigalHey - I am helping a church in Alabama find a preacher. If you know someone, let me know.

What's going on around us??? 07-02-07 09:02pm EST
Is it just me or does it look like things in this great free country are going all downhill?!?! I mean, yeah, we still have the freedoms that we had from birth, but it just seems that those the people have put in power today want only what they want and do not care one iota what the people want.

Take the latest issue of the Senate trying to get a cloture vote on immigration reform (I don't care what they call it, it is what it is). A lot of senators listened to the people and did not allow the vote to pass. Then those that voted yea got up, knowing those that voted in opposition were listening to the people, turned on the people telling us that we don't know what is good for us. This is not the way politics is supposed to work. The political system is failing and with it our country is coming down with it. It is up to people who want to see these freedoms and this country continue to prosper to get involved.

I have heard too many Christians say time and again that it is not our place to get involved in politics. So we're just supposed to sit by and let others take charge and run the politics of this country? I don't think so. Christians need to start getting involved, and I don't mean just voting. We need people to stand up and start speaking. I for one and not going to stand around and watch all this happen without trying to do something.

If we don't start taking a more active role in the political system of this country, we are going to see things take a turn for the worse in such a bad way that it will be nearly impossible to reverse things. It is now that people need to act. I know I am and I implore others who have the voice to stand up and say something to start learning about what's going on and start speaking up.
karileerestoWell why don't you run for office? You know what to do. You better do it before there is no time left to do it because the way the country is going we are coming to an end. No democracy has ever lasted as long as the US so what makes everyone think we are going to last that much longer?
