Today I started painting. YAY!! I know some will ask why and I say because I like color. All of my walls were cream and the ceilings were too so I needed to liven it up. :-)
The first to get painted, my loft. I think it will eventually be sortof a game room with a table but for not it is used as a hall to get to all of the bedrooms. It took a lot longer to paint than I thought it would, a little over 3 hours - and that was just the primer. But I am SO excited, it will definitly be all worth it.
I know it is kindof silly but I am just now hanging pictures and stuff like that so it is starting to feel more like we live here and less like we just moved in. :-) I like it alot.
I know what you mean about all of this. Our house definitely felt like home after things were put on the walls, on shelves, and everything was painted in the colors I liked :)
I like color too. I'm also painting...in between diaper changings and homeschooling, etc. so it's rather slow going. The funny thing is I'm painting everything neutral colors because Edwin wants to get our house ready to sell by June. We might now move...but then again we might (closer to Franklin) and he wants to be ready. I don't mind the actual painting, but I abhor prep and clean up.
Because our house had previous owners, it is taking a while to make it completely ours by repainting all their dinged up walls and such like that. I'm excited about coming to TN in a few weeks to see your new house, and your painted walls!
Hey- we're planning a New Year's Eve singing/get together. I'd love it if you guys could come! (I'm trying to invite people early in the hopes that we might beat others to it) :)
I went to Birmingham this past weekend with JoEllen to try and find some stuff for our new houses. There is a great fabric store in Oneonta (basically a town in the middle of no where in Alabama). We both found lots of fabric to make curtains and pillows. I was very excited. Then we went to Kirkland and we both got some wall art (I especially needed it because I have so many bare walls). It was a lot of fun.
After getting home, Phil and I went to Southeastern Salvage up in Nashville because I had found some stuff at the one in Birmingham I liked but it wasn't quite right so I wanted to chekc at another one. We went thinking we would only look and came home with a wonderful dining room table. It is actually 2 console tables put together to make a bigger one. I was so excited and happy because it was just what I wanted. Now I can't wait to paint and make the curtains for it all to come together :-)
Yeah, I live in that town in the middle of nowhere Alabama! LOL I love that fabric store! It has some beautiful fabric and lots of it! So exciting about your new home! Congratulations!
Mom trold me about your new table. Send me a pic of it; I'd like to see what it looks like. Very cool getting fabric for curtains and pillows. Are you learning to sew?
FYI- LinensNThings is going out of business. My sis in law said the sale right now is 30-50 percent off. Thought it might come in handy for your decorating. I'm dying to go up there, but I can't today. :-(
This has been one of those weeks that it sure is good when it is over. I guess some good things have happened but there are a lot of things weighing on my heart. Sometimes I wish there was a button to make everything right in the world.

The lovely thing about your new house is that you have enough rooms and other white walls that you could probably use almost all the colours that you love! I wouldn't try mew recipes either. I am not sure what mew is, and I stick with what I know, things like "Pork! Mother!"
I'm with you on wanting to decorate. And clothes- I love buying clothes for the kids (it's just too depressing to buy stuff for me because that means I have to try it on!). :)
