Back in 2004, the Latter-Day Saints opened their pulpit to somebody from outside their own fellowship for the first time since Dwight Moody. The honors went to Ravi Zacharias. This sermon is the only sermon I can think of that has ever brought me to tears - it's wonderful. It's in seven parts that are about ten minutes each and I'm posting them here.
I'v heard about this event. I'd love to sit down and watch all these. Have you read the book by Richard Hughes on the churches of Christ is America, etc? How was it?
I stuffed my ears for both openers to save my ears for Coldplay. The DJ guy almost made me angry- I just stopped watching his demonic screen with subliminal messages. And then Coldplay came and washed away all the pain.
Yeah, that's essentially my point. The only "one church" or "one body" is the collection of all saved people throughout history. So when any group (whether churches of Christ or otherwise) claims to be the one true church, and they apply that to some known association of local congregations, they've misunderstood what the what body is to begin with.
