Hey guys i can't believe how long it has been since my last entry. Summer has finally come and gone. The kids arte back in school and I miss them so much! Hope all of you are well! Eric and I had the great privilige of going on a cruise to Alaska. WOW is all I can say. It was the most beautiful place I think I have ever been. The beauty is truly breath taking. It is so cool to go somewhere like this and see God's amazing creation. I am always struck by the fact that some people don't believe in God. That Glacier could attest to his magcificiant creation. We were able to visit 3 cities in Alaska and also visit Victoria, B.C. We got to see whales, seals, sea lion, bear tracks, no bears, and even a couple of puffins. We also saw the salmon spawning. There were literally thousands of them. I had never seen anything quite like that before. When I get my new computer I will upload some photos for you guys to see. (I will have to get some help....Amanda you game? Going to Alaska was a neat way to end the summer. Then school began... Still in house mode. Picking out tile, flooring, marble etc. Maybe by Thanksgiving. Hope all of you are doing well.
By the way, I would have thrown the girls in the pool in the 63 degree weather, but then I'd have to hear the whining, and complaining all night... :-)
Well we are really working on the new house and getting things ready for the next steps. This weekend we worked on the electric lines and the plumbing. We layed the electric lines (with some help from a pro) and also the water lines. We rented a ditcher and Eric even let me run that for a while. Then of course I had to dig those out! It was quite an undertaking. Yeaterday we painted our new barn. I still bear the "scars" of the paint gun. I still look like I have leporsey. I also have this new cool bicep muscle. (Actually it looks like that comercial where the guys gets his new ab muscles through air-brushing). The bad thing is it is only one arm. It was neat to see the finished products of both projects. You know we gotta get the barn ready for those critters. Not hogs though, sorry Jamie we don't do much slopping. Just the lambs and gooats. Hope all of you are having a restful weekend.
We've got a hold on a lot and Cory D. has been a big help to us. Do you know him through Robna and Kelli, his mother and aunt? I figure that must be a Seminole connection, huh? We really love that family!
I will! No doubt you also know Imogene and her daughter, Kayla. I'm still learning who all is from Seminole. Ha! In fact, I'm still working on all of the 300 names! Whew!
Hey everyone! Recently returned from all of our travels. It was great. I got to hold the cuteset little guy named Silas. What a cutie!!! We got to visit Nathan and Crystal in St. Louis. IT was sooo good to see them! Guys, Camp is just not the same without you! We had a nice visit and we just hope it is not another 2 years before we see then again! Then onto NYC. We had a great time despite the record heat wave. Got to see Mary Poppins, and Lion KIng(AMAZING!) We would have liked to have seen Wicked, but we couldn't get tickets! That is unless I got a second job at Allsups! We waited too long to try and get tickets! We did a lot of shopping, sightseeing, eating and of course chilled. One of the highlights was watching Jadie hail a cab! It was a hoot! You would have thought she lived there! She was amazing! IT gives me a smile just to think about it! Now just a few weeks until school starts! We are so ready for all of our college kids to get home. You guys be safe and hurry back! Be looking for my pictures of Silas......
Hey! So good to see you guys too. I think I get the after camp blues just as much as the kids do. Being around Christians all the time is so edifying...just think how wonderful heaven will be! Yes, we are getting ready for the trip to FL. Can't wait. Enjoy the rest of your summer.
Glad you had a fun trip! I can hardly believe that the little guy I had in the baby class is about to be in the 8th grade! I must really be getting old! Ha! They'll both be graduating before you know it, so hold on tight and enjoy the ride the next few years! You have many wonderful blessings ahead, so savor every moment God gives you! Come see us in the dust bowl sometime.
Hey guys this is really cool! After much prodding from my 13 year old I finally decided to join the gang! Believe it or not we are headed on vacation! Hope to have new pics for everyone! Jadie and I are also going to NYC with my Mom in law! I doubt we will be as "famous" as some we know though! Have a great week and we look froward to seeing many of you at Youth Lectures!
