Good thing number 1: I bought gas two days ago for $1.72/gal. It has since gone down to 1.69. This is awesome.
Good thing number 2: We're leaving Tuesday to come home for Thanksgiving. Yay for seeing family!
Good thing number 3: Tomorrow is my birthday. I will be 22. The high is (according to the weather channel) 49° and the low is 23°. I'm pretty sure it has never before in my life been that cold on my birthday. This makes me happy. Also... being 22, I think I will now feel like I am old enough to get married. Marriage is a good thing, too.
20 you feel older because you aren't a teenager
21, even to those who don't drink, makes you feel younger epsecially in how others perceieve you
22 felt much older for me
haha... sorry I didn't want to put anyone too awesome on the list... didn't want my brother to be offended... :) Consider it a compliment? Happy Birthday!
i'm more sickened than scared or worried. i'm not actually scared or worried. i knew i was going to get comments like that. i just didn't know how else to put how i was feeling at the time. i know God's in control.
it was just sickening to me to think how likely the possibility is that in the next four years homosexuals will be granted the right to marry by the federal government, even more babies will be killed than before, and our economy will continue to crumble because of the big government (set up by both parties) that proposes to pay for... well... everything.
i don't want to live in a socialist country. i don't want my tax dollars going to pay for homosexuals to have equal benefits, mothers to kill their children, and high school students to get free condoms and birth control.
sorry. but this sickens me.
don't anyone mistake me to mean that i don't trust in God. His will will indeed be done. but sometimes His will is to bring low nations that turn against him. will we all be fine? yes. am i "worried"? no. Jesus tells us not to be anxious.
maybe these things will happen, maybe they won't. i don't know. i'm just saying i wish they wouldn't.
Me too. I just hope it doesn't turn out as bad as I think it will. Yes, the Lord is in control (no matter what chaos that can mean on the earth) and the righteous must live by faith. But we should definitely pray for Obama and all of the elected officials in our nation. Perhaps President Obama will not veer too far from the middle. It's hard to say what is actually going to happen now.
For 30 years I have voted on the precept of who would do their best to stop abortions on demand and reverse Roe vs. Wade. What I have found out is that after all this time, politicians will take a stand that life begins at conceptions, but never act upon that belief. The idea of voting for the lesser of two evils finds me still voting for evil. This year I came to the conclusion that neither the Democrates or the Republicans have any interest in stopping abortion. They have had 35 years to do it, but they haven't. What I can do is prove to God that I value the santity of life more than prosperity and voted for the party that oposes it from both a constitutional standpoint and one from a Biblical perspective. Take a look at the Constitution Party's platform in respect to the sanctity of life. They only had about 173,000 votes this year, but that is 173,000 proven votes that abortion is wrong. This is the first time I have voted that I have a clear conscious in respect to this. It's all about showing God where you stand.
I think of the 3 things you mentioned, abortions should be our main concern. Gay marriage and free BC for highschool students don't strip away anyone elses rights. Abortion does. Maybe we should push for adoption agencies? Just my two cents. I'm not really worried about what the future will bring. I'll keep living as I've always have. :)
thanks for the prayers jesse. I miss you and I hope you are having an amaazing time in Texas. I miss it. Please eat some Mexican food for me, cause I cant here in kentucky
Ice would be a little more difficult to deal with. I would be thinking about the ice on the road. Maybe the ground is warmer.
You should take a picture.
Hey Jesse, thanks for calling Chris and getting the info to him. I think he is struggling pretty bad at Tech. His mom told me he is moving back home after this semester.
It was the first time in my life that I have voted. I missed the last presidential election by less than a month. Since then I have never lived in Texas during an election. So, needless to say, it was quite gratifying to finally be able to have my say.
It was random, too, because I had just gone to the bank (which is in a grocery store) to deposit some checks, and lo and behold it was an early-voting center. So I said to myself, "I'm here... might as well!"
I voted Libertarian... except for the last 4 or 5 spots for which there was only one candidate running, all of which were republican. I think you could call that one-sided. I voted for those anyway.
Libertarians are definitely interesting, although i am concerned that they may actually fall off the right side off the political spectrum and end up in liberal land (i.e. no internet restrictions/legalizing narcotics); but to me that issue is trumped by the fact i do not live in west texas and therefore they will not get elected- i believe this is inevitable, it seems our country is doomed to a two party system
another thing that seems to be inevitable is the looming onslaught of socialism on our country, im not as optimistic as you to think there can actually be a revival from socialism (e.g. europe for the past ?? years), but you are sticking to your ideals by voting libertarian, and im always up for supporting an idealist over a pragmatist, thanks for the comment
Haha... well, the Santa Fe is on the short list. The 100,000 mile warranty looks very good. I can't see much difference in the Santa Fe and the Tucson.
Yeah, I've know about it for ever but finally got the time to get on it. Funny thing is I am at work so I wonder..Am I the only guy on pleonast that sends messages from Prison? Cause thats where I'm at! HAHAHA
Amber got the 2nd grade position in the Slaton school district, southeast of Lubbock. Thank you so much for all of your prayers! We know they played a role.
This is going to make things so much easier and more comfortable. And I won't have to sub anymore! mwa hahahaha! Although I probly still will on Mondays just cuz it's nice to have a little extra cash and I don't go into the office so why not right?
Okay, that's all. Just wanted to share because so many have asked.
