Steve was involved in an accident today. The initiator drove away. He was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. He received about 40 stitches in his arm, leg and head. He is pretty banged up and bruised. It is possible his truck will be declared as totalled. I am asking for your prayers. For Steve's health and recovery, for our finances, for our involvement with insurance companies, etc. As you know, I am a stay at home mom...Steve is the sole bread winner. This could potentially do some damage financially....but our God is bigger than it all. He has already had his hand in this. From the looks of Steve's truck and glass that was involved, he could have been taken from us. God is great and merciful and to be praised. So, please keep us in your prayers if you think of it.
Thank you!
Oh, I am so sorry to hear about the accident--how very scary for you all! But God has protected him and I know you will find a way. Prayers for you guys...love you!
I will add you to the prayer list. 40 stitches is plenty! Sometimes the scariest things or things that seem really negative are the things that bring us the most good and God the glory. I have a feeling that's how this one will turn out!
Things are good here. I taught for four years and this is the first year I am able to stay at home. We were fortunate enough to have family to help with Allison while Jason finished school. Allison will be three at the end of March and Lily will be one at the beginning of March. We are in South Carolina where Jason is doing his residency in general surgery. He graduated from medical school in May.
Sorry if this is random and choppy. Allison is trying to take my temperature and blood pressure as I type. Hope all is going well with you and that Steve is recovering well from his accident. That must have been scary.
So, my little man is growing up. We have officially been in big boy underwear for almost a week now with NO accidents! I am so proud of him, yet it amazes me that 2 1/2 years have already gone by. I am so enjoying the little guy he is becoming. He has a great compassion for people, yet he is ALL BOY! :) He is so full of life. (sometimes a little too much for Mommy!)
Korban has a smile that would make Ebenezer Scrooge grin! He is such a good baby. He is getting big too. He has a doctor appt. on Wednesday, so I will give official stats then. He is teething something fierce and is already talking up a storm. I may be doomed for unending sound in my home! :)
We are off to the beach for the weekend. We haven't been on a "vacation" in over a year and a half and this will be our first getaway as a family of four. I intend to cherish every moment and take lots of pictures! :)
Okay, you are probably getting sick of these, but here is one more from tonight:
We were at the beach and it was dark. The stars were shining brightly and it was beautiful.
Mommy: "Kaeden, do you see those bright stars? Aren't they beautiful way up there in the sky?"
Kaeden: "Oh, yes, Momma...I will pick one for you!" (Stretching as far as he can to get one for me.)
That is probably one of the most romantic things ever said to me. My son wants to lasso a star for me....reference to "It's a Wonderful Life" and I indeed have a wonderful life blessed of the Lord! :)
Mommy: "I love you, Kaeden"
Kaeden: "I love you too...one!"
Sometimes he just cracks me up. I have been low key today as I don't feel well. My fibromyalgia is kicking in big time.
We have swim class today. Maybe the above student will refrain from his emotional outburst tonight. :) We have been 3 days in a row with no poo accidents! Wahoo! (That is what he says when he hears it plop in the potty....gross I know.)
Korban is getting bigger by the day. Maybe I will truly figure out how to post pics on here!
For uploaded pictures:
1) make a new room on pleonast
(go to your home room, click "edit room" then click "add new.")
2) upload a picture for that room
(in the "room picture" area, click "Browse...", find a picture on your computer, and click "change picture."
3) the room number shows up in square brackets in the "your rooms" list. The newest room is at the bottom. (you can also get the room number from the URL bar in your browser, it should have a part at the end that says, for instance "http://pleonast.com/room.php&roomID=2367"
4) the code to put that picture anywhere on pleonast is:
BUT...don't put the space after the first < I just put that space in there so it would actually let me type that out without actually putting a picture in
So, we have this huge water tower near our house that apparently looks like Ninevah. (The top resembles the top of the building structures from biblical times.) Every time we pass it Kaeden yells out that it is Ninevah. Today's conversation went something like this:
Kaeden: "Look, Mommy, Ninevah!!!"
Me: "Really?"
Kaeden: "Yes, I want to go to Ninevah!"
Me: "Why?"
Kaeden matter of factly: "To play with Jonah!"
I thought that was pretty hilarious. Especially since he felt that I should automatically know why one would want to go to Ninevah. :)
When are you going to get the Robeez? I'm trying to figure out a day that I can go and make it make sense. I don't just want to drive to Orlando to get free shoes. With gas being so high it kinda ruins the whole free thing. I'd be better off to just buy them in Tampa!!! The father daughter retreat that we are hosting in Sept. is in Orlando and I'm sure I could go down there for some reason and get some things done for the retreat. Just curious!
That's not a bad idea! I would love to be stuck in the car with you for a couple hours!!!! My dad (who lives in GA) is going to a trade show in Orlando on August 1st and 2nd he said he would be willing to have me mail the coupons to him and he would pick up the free shoes for me and keep them till I see him again (I'm planning on going to my parent's house a week after that so I wouldn't have to wait for them too long!) but I'm not too sure I want my dad to pick out my shoes!!! I can't imagine which style he would pick! I guess I could talk to him while he's on his cell and I could coach him through it all. I'll let you know!
