We really enjoyed having you over! I wish to affirm, however, that the pretzels left the house in an unopened container. Their status with the Caudills I cannot verify, however.

The burrito and his friends

Greetings, pleo-people. The world of West Texas is way too hot and dry. Other than that, things are going fairly well. I just got done conducting some research on breakfast burritos from Sonic. I have concluded that to make a proper breakfast burrito, it is important to have not too much egg and plenty of other stuff. In my past breakfast burrito making attempts, I had probably been guilty of putting in too much egg. But now I know better. Warm tortillas, I think, are also key.

So I am now on the brink of turning one year older. Our culture seems largely obsessed with youth. I'm going to be a maverick and get older anyway.

Youth is overrated. I can't wait to be an old man and tell everyone how it was "Back in my day....".

Raymond has used the "Back in my day..." line since I first met him.

If I can't get taller, I can't get older. Logic, however faulty, is the true fountain of youth.

Another entry

It is about time I made another entry. So here it is: another entry.

You may ask, "what are you doing with your life these days? It's been so long. Are you married? Have you become the leader of any small, Eastern European countries?"

No. I am not married. And, as far as I know, Texas still considers itself part of the United States, and I'm not it's ruler anyhow. It's also not in Eastern Europe. Or Europe at all... but I digress.

So now that I've answered every possible question you might have for me, let me astound you by giving you even more information. Ever notice how people link wiki pages to various words on their blogs that are not commonly used? Well, I like this idea, but I'm getting tired of linking every word I write to a wiki page, so I'll stop now.

So in the post I have demonstrated that it is entirely too late at night, and I should consider going to bed.

Good night!
  • wbd
Well, I was going to ask you some questions but you seem to have thought of everything! But I would have thought that by now you would be the leader of at least one small Eastern European country. You disappoint me.
    by wbd at 07/06/09 3:39PM
  • mladyman
Hah! You obviously underestimate the quality and quantity of questions I can ask!

For example, if you could be a tree, what kind of tree would you be, and do you really have enough spare time to be thinking about lumber?

Are you now or have you ever in the past worn toenail polish?

If pigs DID grow wings, could they indeed fly, or would they just look really, really pathetic on the ground?

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck, and why would a woodchuck be barfing wood, anyway?

Where were you and how old were you when you saw your last Batman episode? No, I'm not talking movies; I'm talking Burt Ward/Adam West "Holy Hand Grenade, Batman!" TV.

But the most important question of all is, how did you teach your dog to blog on pleo?

You think I learned from him? I had to teach him how to blog!

    How about New Wyoming?

^ I notice that wasn't on your list of places to move. Do you lack confidence in the Utopia I intend to create, or do you just think that I won't be able to generate enough revenue from speeding tickets on out of state vehicles to run a stable government?

I vote that the comments on this page are composed of pure awesome, along with the entry itself. And I for one am glad you're not married.

If you were to build a time machine, and go forward to the time of the New Wyoming, you would find us there. The other list is just the Texas escape plan for next summer.

Entry

Hello, everyone. It's been a while since my last update. Well, at least it's been a while since my last update that wasn't a picture of a cat and a globe.

I have started a garden. You might wonder how I can grow a garden, since I live in an apartment. I'm wondering the same thing. I'm a little worried about the plants getting enough sun where I'm able to put them and about the soil drying out in the arid climate here. But, hopefully, in about a week or two I'll have some little seedlings. I've planted basil, sage, thyme, rosemary, and oregano. Pictures to come (probably on Facebook) when (and if) there is something other than dirt in the cutout bottom of a water jug to take a picture of.

Our rosemary thrives despite massive neglect and my black thumb. It is one of the VERY FEW things the deer will not eat. All other herbs have been appertifs for the furry population living near me. Good luck on the garden. Have you tried the "growing tomatoes upside down?" thingie they are now advertising on late night TV?
