post from missy ing
I went to the afternoon awards ceremony (for 3rd-5th graders) at Marissa's school yesterday. She got an award for A/B Honor Roll (only 1 B) and one for Reading! So proud of her! :)
I wish I could have went to the morning ceremony as well (for K-2nd). I sometimes wonder what it would be like if Nathan had never gotten sick, never lost his vision, if he were a normal, healthy 8 year old boy in the 2nd grade. I wonder what he would like best about school, who his friends would be. He'd be so cute hopping down the bleachers to go and get a certificate! I wouldn't care if he never won an award, I'd just LOVE to have him here!
I am truly thankful for my husband and my precious daughter, but our family will not be "complete" again until we are reunited in Heaven someday. No matter where we go or what we do together, we will always be missing Nathan. He had his special place in our family, as each of us do, and now his place is empty. As a mother, it's heart wrenching to carry a child in your womb, then care for him and love him unconditionally, only to have an evil disease rip him away from you. Life will never be the same. But we are blessed to have had our lives touched by this beautiful little boy, though the time was much too brief.
Thanks for listening and for your love and prayers.
Love,
Missy

I love the yellow bandana. FYI not sure if you shop at Marshall's but Jessica and I were there looking for dresses for her and they have a lot of Life is Good stuff, handbags, hats, shirts, necklaces, backpacks, dishes and garden stuff too. Jessica kept saying Frani would like this oh and she would like that too. :)

Please relate to Missy that I have the same feelings and Wendy has been gone now for 28 yrs......especially this past weekend when Sam(her old boyfriend) was here with his wife and family. You remember that my SIL's sister married Sam....they have 3 beautiful children(the oldest being 25 and the youngest 20)(time flies)....they are all christians....Sam is a deacon in the church....He has gained a few pounds and doesn't have a beard any more but is still the same Sam. I couldn't help but think about what Wendy and Sam's life would have been if they had married.....it was that serious when she had the accident. Well, Missy Ing is not any different in her thinking than any of us who have lost children....no matter the age.
Give her my love and tell her I keep her in my prayers.
Love you
