Update on Marty Kibler

My mother in law, Sandy Thomas, asked me to update her sister, Marty Kibler's, condition. My brother in law, Chris, posted a vague "she's not doing well" post a few days ago, so Sandy asked me to fill in some details.

Marty found out a few days ago that she has some problems with her heart. They know she has some blockages. She went to meet with the surgeon today to discuss their options. Next Tuesday, she is going to be having a heart catheterization to examine the damage. The surgeon believes they caught the problem in time to avoid any major surgeries at this time. They are discussing the possibility of a stint, but possibly even only treating with medication at this point. This is certainly better than the way it could have gone.

That's pretty much what the family knows at this point. I'm sure Marty would appreciate prayers on her behalf at this time.

Worth your time

I downloaded the "I Am..." series that Kris presented at Eastside in Bowling Green a couple years ago and listened to it while I was working last night. He did an excellent job, and its well worth your time to download and listen to it if you're so inclined.

The mp3 files can be found here.

Another good series I listened to over the last couple of nights was a series by John Gibson dealing with the House church movement. It is also well worth your time. Those audio files can be found here.

If you need a good laugh...

... watch Abbott and Costello's "Who's on first?"

Justin sent me the audio the other day, and I found it quite hilarious. I hadn't heard it in a long time.

Sure to brighten your day. :-)

"Who's On First" is one of the single greatest comedy sketches of all times. It NEVER gets old.

That's the first time I've seen the math clip. Fantastic!

Their sense of comedic timing was brilliant.

"Change in Washington"?

Isn't that what we were promised??

Hmm, straight from the "horses'" mouths (Democratic quotes) on buying votes for the healthcare abomination bill.

"But Senate Democrats said the payoffs are nothing unusual, and in fact typical.

"People fight for their own states. That's the nature of a democracy," Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., said on "Fox News Sunday," defending Nelson against withering attacks from the GOP.

"This is just part of the normal legislative process," said Jim Manley, spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. "

I know Obama is the one who made those promises, but he's in full support of the "victory" in the test vote... and he knows how he got his votes-they were bought. It was a good campaign slogan, but he had no intention of "changing" anything.

*Sigh* It's gotta be bad when the politicians even admit that they are dirty-dealing.

Hope all goes well for you and Nikki this week! You're in our prayers!

It's this type of backwards dealing and bribery that make me hate both parties! The Dems are feeling the heat from it now because it's their bill. Six years from now it will be the Republicans. The two timers we have representing us in Washington, on both sides of the aisle, are no more honorable than criminals. I would just like to have someone from the senate tell me how giving Nebraska full coverage universal health care is constitutional. I'm pretty sure the 14th amendment has something called the equal protection clause that is being ignored with gusto.
