How're you guys doing this morning? We watched the game last night, I felt so bad for Colt. What a horrible way to finish his college career. I also felt bad for Gilbert, what a nerve racking way to get pulled into a game. He did fairly well though, despite the pressure. Next year may be rough on him, but he made some good plays, he can only get better, right? According to ESPN, Colt's injury resulted in a pinched nerve. He said his arm felt like a noodle. He could throw the ball hard, but couldn't tell where it was going to go. Hopefully, he'll recover quickly and be ready for a high pick in the draft. I think Alabama was disappointed that Colt got hurt, even though it gave them an advantage. I think to them, the victory would've been sweeter and more challenging had it been against Colt. To me, having an SEC team win was great, but overshadowed by Colt's unfortunate injury. I really don't like Alabama all that much, I'm much more of a Bulldog Fan.

I even celebrated one of Gilbert's touchdown passes. I knew it boosted his confidence. Curtis gave me a funny look and I said, "Good for him, he's under a lot of pressure."

I'd rather not play for the coach. I don't like his coaching method. If you mess up or don't try your best he will pull you out and literally scream in your face in front of everybody. I also don't like the language that he uses sometimes. We don't have a JV coach so he is coaching JV and Varsity.

Happy Thanksgiving (and other fun things)

So we're in Texas for T-giving again this year. It all started with my wanting to get football tickets for Joshua's 30th birthday to see the Texas Longhorns play. The game was Saturday night in Austin and we had a blast! We've been to a few college games over the years, but this one definitely took the cake. After watching them play on TV all these years, it was just so much better in person. Hook 'Em Horns!

Tonight we had our "Texas Thanksgiving Christmas" with Joshua's parents. I love doing Christmas early. I fully believe that Christmas is a season unto itself and should definitely last a full month. And having Christmas at Thanksgiving helps with that theory. It even helps with the bills, too. We're able to wipe out all of his family at least a month before we get started on buying gifts for everyone in Virginia. Our bank accounts and credit cards thank us dearly.

Tomorrow night we leave Houston to head to the deer lease in Kerrville (I'm told that's about 5 hours from here). And yes, I'm planning to go to the deer stand. Uh huh, you read that right. Camo, cover-alls, binoculars. Got it all covered. I'm just not sure if I'll go in the morning hunt or not. I told my father-in-law I probably shouldn't go in the morning hunt because I'd be a bear and he might shoot me instead. We'll see how adventurous I plan to be. Joshua wants me to even shoot the gun, but that's definitely up in the air. No promises on that one at all. It all depends on how I feel in the moment. But, rest assured, pictures will be taken for all you out there that can't believe I'm going to the woods in camoflauge.

Thanksgiving is in 3 days and I can't believe it. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was doing this and now it's here again. I truly believe the years go by faster and faster the older I get. Hmmm....yet another reason to NOT enjoy getting older.
