Preachers and congregations during this hard economic time. Many preachers are losing support or their jobs. Remember these men who do a great work and their families.

Today is a beautiful day outside, in the 70's. Our typical spring is cold in the morning, like this mornings temperature of 20, and then warmer days. We are supposed to have a cold front moving in on Thursday night with snow or rain for a couple of days.

I used Thyme Essential Oil this morning and dropped some on my clothes, oops. It is a very potent oil and everywhere I go smells like Thyme. I tried to 'cover' it by using a lot of Peppermint but that hasn't helped. :D

On the other hand, I wondered if it was the oil which made people friendly today. I went to make copies for Aflac books and the person said she would charge me only 4 cents per copy, wow! On 750 copies that was great. Then, I got to Eric's office building and had my hands full. The security guard saw me coming, and left where he was, opened both front doors, walked to the elevator and pushed the button for me, then the floor button after it opened. When I got to my floor, someone there offered to help me with my boxes. It certainly restored my faith that there are some people with manners left in this world. Lately, I've been wondering about that with some things I've experienced.

Have a great day!

    I wonder about that too in regards to some of my patients. Just when I have doubted that there are any nice people left, God sends me someone that has a kind word and a smile to remind me that there are plenty around. :)

The Health Care bill before Congress does not have my support. Here is information you may be interested in reading. For those of you who think it is a good idea did you hear this: the Republicans put a Bill on the floor which they all voted for and the Democrats voted against. The Bill would have forced everyone in Congress to use the same health care as the health care they are currently debating. If that doesn't alarm you, then I don't know what else to write.

Calls Needed to Congress About National Healthcare Bill

Dear Colorado homeschooling families,

Our friends at the Homeschool Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) have passed on an urgent message to us:

William A. Estrada, Esq.
Director of Federal Relations
July 21, 2009

Urgent calls are needed to the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate to oppose H.R. 3200, "America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009." Although this bill does not directly impact homeschool freedoms, it would significantly impact parental rights and early childhood education. For more information, read HSLDA's legislative summary of H.R. 3200.

While this bill is being promoted as a way to reform health care and help Americans, it should be opposed because it would:

Spend billions of dollars to allow the federal government to fund home visitation programs, where government officials would enter homes and monitor children and instruct parents in how to raise their children;
Encourage states to pressure families to enroll their children in these home visitation programs;
Put the federal government in the healthcare business, resulting in loss of competition, loss of patient choice, and loss of patient freedom;
Require all health insurance plans, whether offered by a private company or the government, to include controversial "essential benefits," which courts or the Secretary of Health and Human Services may determine to include medical procedures which businesses and taxpayers may oppose on philosophical and religious grounds; and
Increase the size and power of the federal government.
Action

Please call your U.S. representative and your two U.S. senators, and ask them to oppose the federal government's takeover of health care. You need not identify yourself as a homeschooler. You can use some or all of the following message:

"Please oppose H.R. 3200, the 'America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009.' I am opposed to H.R. 3200's creation of home visitation programs through grants to the states. Parents, not federal or state officials, should make child-rearing decisions for their young children. Additionally, H.R. 3200 will expand the federal government's role, the federal deficit, and will interfere with medical decisions between my doctor and me."

Please also forward this information to as many of your friends as you can and urge them to call their elected officials. You can find the contact information for your U.S. representative by using HSLDA's Legislative Toolbox.

    I hadn't thought about it, but the last point - "Require all health insurance plans, whether offered by a private company or the government, to include controversial "essential benefits," which courts or the Secretary of Health and Human Services may determine to include medical procedures which businesses and taxpayers may oppose on philosophical and religious grounds;"- is that why our president is trying to get this passed so quickly? Is he going to force all of America to participate in abortions whether we morally oppose it or not? That is a really frightening thought.

    For years we have seen how socialized medicine doesn't work, and yet somehow we elect people that want to put it in place. My sister lives in Great Britain - it's no longer health care, it's "let's choose who gets to die" care. Anyhow, thanks for putting a post like this up. I am glad to see there really are informed people out there fighting the fight.
