Ok, so I know
I hardly ever blog and I usually have this
guy do it for me but something happened today that I deemed blog worthy so I thought I would share. Ok, here goes. My school has a club called the Gay/Straight Alliance. It’s the largest club in the school and they practice the Day of Silence and all that and it’s a big deal to a lot of people (much to my dismay). Anyway, there was a student who used to go to Fayetteville who now goes to school in Topeka Kansas. One day he wore a GSA shirt to class and a lot of people had problems with it. They threatened him with expulsion and basically a large part of the school and community freaked out about it. There is a baptist church there in Topeka with a rather radical preacher. He found out that this student went to Fayetteville High School so he decided that we would be his next stop on his crusade against homosexuality. Now on normal terms I might agree with many of his views on this, except he adopted "God Hates Fags" as his coined slogan. He has a church website dedicated to this, godhatesfags.com. They (this church) planned on protesting in front of FHS during lunch today. The said they weren't protesting GSA but rather FHS as a whole. So, as lunch ended and I was coming back from Charlie's Chicken (mmm it was good) the protesters arrived. There were at least 7 police officers present for the whole affair and numerous news and radio stations also. The picketers carried signs saying "God Hates Fags", "God Hates America", "Thank God for 9-11", "Fags=9-11", "God Hates YOU" and the one that broke my heart, a 6 year old carrying a sign saying "Fags are Deserving of Death." The also had signs with vulgar images on them and the words “FAGS” and “FHS.” I certainly don't agree with homosexuality on any level but all the hatred they promoted...I was blown away. Most of the students handled it well though. One student threw a Gatorade bottle at the protesters and it ended up hitting a news reporter. I found out later that she had a mild concussion. There was a lot of yelling and harsh words throw back and forth between the students, FHS supporters, and the Topeka group. I kept away from the front line and just stood back and watched the chaos. Aside from the severity of the situation we had a good time. We ended up calling the hogs once or twice. I think the protesters thought we were truly insane at this point. All the students wore pink ribbons on their arms and wrist and legs and necks and bags in support of Fayetteville. I chose not to wear one because I didn’t want to be affiliated in any way shape or form with the GSA. I was sad that I couldn’t throw support either way today. The protesters certainly didn’t show any Christian-like qualities that could be commended and neither did FHS as a whole. It was pretty sad. Anyway, penny for your thoughts...

So I'm gonna write a story. I'm not sure what i'm gonna write about yet so i'm just gonna ramble till i figure it out. How is everyone? Good i hope. Does anyone like to go to the park? I do. I'm listening to The White Stripes now...they're good. Chinese food is good to...just don't eat they're peppers....spicy stuff.
Story
I have a friend. My friend is really nice. A while back I left my friend out to dry. I should have never done that. I am sorry that I did that. They are a good friend. They listen to me. They talk to me. They make fun of me...My friend forgave me for what I did...I'm not sure why. Maybe thats why they are a good friend. You see good friends are hard to come by. Everyone has a good friend they think of. But this type of friend is one in a million. I had friends in school, but I haven't seent hem in a while. I haven't seen friends from camp in a while either. I'm not sad about that, maybe I should be. I don't know. Its just part of growing up. Things happen, people move away, they're lives move in different directions. But the real friends. Real friends are those that can overcome a distance. A real friend will call you and make sure you don't fall asleep driving. A real friend will stand beside you, not in front, and not behind. But beside you every step of the way. And thats what my friend does. They walk with me and for that I am thankful. Find yourself a good friend, and never let them go. The End
I don't know...haha
Oh yeah forgot...
Marcus...yeah it was
me all along
havent seen you in a long time, where are you?
