Ok...new chapter.

Well...it took me longer than a couple of weeks, but I'm back. Lacie and I just got back from FC lectures. What a blessing it was to see the boys and see all our old friends. It was a great trip. I love being around other Christians! I imagine that's how heaven will be...but better.

I was a little sad when I thought of both of our boys living so far away in Tampa, FL. But after seeing how happy they both are with their wife/gf...it made my heart glad. Now I can stand the pain a of being apart. I think I like the girls more than my boys!! They'll smart, cuter, and they laugh at all my jokes!! (well most of them anyway.) No, I love them all. What a blessing they all are! I thank God I've lived to see this day. All glory to God. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Hey, it was good to see you the other night! Wish we had more time to visit, but glad we got a bit of time. We'll be out in Tucson in May, but for my neices wedding, so probably won't be possible to get a chance to see you in your neck of the woods.

I read that article about the US collapsing. Is it within the realm of possibility? I suppose. Our "civilization" is probably not as stable as we would like to think. However, I wouldn't underestimate the american people, either. We like independence, and good order, and are some of the most hard-headed and stubborn people on the planet. I think we, overall, are more "american" than regional, and would resist any change of our national make up, seperating into regional factions. But who knows?

New Chapter

Well, ready or not, I'm entering a new chapter in my life. My eldest son is getting married. Wow. I never had a daughter so I'm excited to add her to our family! She is everything that I would want for my son (and someday...grandkids!) God is great. I'm glad I haven't been given what I deserve in this life! I've been blessed beyond measure.

My son was asking me about married life. He was obviously a little nervous. I remember what his Navy fighter pilot grand-father used to tell me. When I was a boy...I'd ask my Dad if he was ever scared to fly into combat. He said, "nope. I always had 2 chances. I would either come back...or I wouldn't. If I didn't...I would either live or die. If I died... I still had 2 chances!"

Don't worry about things you can't change. You only have control over your attitude. And that will make all the difference. God bless.
  • blagosloven_chovek
And, too few folks these days forget that you are the one in control of your attitude and actions! Can't control the consequences... but can control how you act as a result. Makes life a whole lot more bearable and enjoyable.

Empty Nest?

Well...Lacie and I sent our youngest son to F.C. I used to make jokes about "empty-nesters." Oddly enough, it doesn't seem that funny anymore. I hate it. (Sometimes) But I'm proud of both of the boys. Lacie did a great job. And they seem to have turned out all right. (Despite my influence on them.)

That's strange. This was going to be a humorous post. I guess I still can't make jokes about it yet. Give me a couple of weeks. God Bless.
  • fourkings
Dear man....my heart is with you. We aren't quite there yet, but I do think of the days when our children will fly from our nest to go out and see what they can find out there. Yes, I do believe that you are blessed with 2 of the most wonderful, sensitive, thoughtful, kind young men that I have met! Job well done! I'm impressed and know that it can be done, to raise Godly young men in a world such as today!! Love yall! ;o)

New Adventure

I did have one neat adventure the other day. I went horseback riding with a friend of mine. His ex-wife has a business where she'll guide clients up to old historical sites up in the Catalina mountains. Some recent housing developments have cut off the most direct route. So she asked us to try and find another way up. So we really went bush-whacking. Up and down some really steep draws and canyons. Luckily, my horse, Romeo, had been raised on a working ranch, and there wasn't much he hasn't seen or done. Several times we had to jump over cactus just to get around them. At one point we went down a REALLY steep mountain side. Imagine if you will the scene from "The Man From Snowy River," when he jumps down the hill with his horse...running. Now imagine me doing the same thing...except I'm screaming like a little girl. Got the picture? It was kind of like that.

Anyway...hope you all have a good day. God Bless.

Wow! But... ex-wife... are you sure she wasn't trying to nix her ex and his friend with the "I need a new, untested riding path" line?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wow, another Thanksgiving is here! Lacie is in the kitchen cooking away. Smells good. Don't worry...I'll be in there in a minute trying to get a taste of everything before she's done. She'll be slapping my hand, and scolding me. It's kind of a tradition. Hey, we all have our jobs. She cooks...and I help by eating.

I just want to wish all my friends and family a very happy & safe Thanksgiving. You all have a good one. God bless.
  • blagosloven_chovek
I hope you did a good job! I missed our fledgling traditions this year; I'm sitting in the Phoenix airport right now waiting to catch a connecting flight to San Antonio to meet my fam and have a late T-day. Hope yours was good.
