Musical is over and Spring Break is next week. I very much immensely need it. I am planning to go to Key Largo with Mike Bacci, Georgia Colvin, David Bunting, and Dr. and Mrs. Walker. It should be alot of fun. Card playing and sailing and boating, and going to the beaching, and touring, and watching everyone else snorkle, and doing homework, and catching up on letters, and sleeping. Wonderful!

Yesterday, I started Pampered Chef. It is very exciting! It is definitely going to continue to keep me busy but I think it will be alot of fun. So if any of you are interested in hosting a party down here or having a catalog show from another state just let me know. :D

My family is planning to move into a new house next week. Poor mother does not wish to be in the moving process again and I don't blame her. It is very wearying.

Between admissions intern work and pampered chef stuff i think I talked on the phone for at least three hours. I didn't know my jobs would turn into so much phone work! I guess it's a good skill to have. It makes for interesting discussions but it is very challenging in some ways. I find being positive to be tricky sometimes. I find frowning and being pessimistic to be nicer and more comfortable but because others don't seem to have the same perception (fortunately) I must overcome!

I have an anatomy test tomorrow. =/

Today in chapel, Dr. McClister made a comment about how we often try to be different from the world while being the same as the world. I think it's easy for us to have mixed priorities and to think that we can still be a wonderful Christian while trying to appease the world and dip into both pools at once. Let's strive to be more focused on the godly attributes instead of finding joy in the world. The world does not bring joy, God does.

I cannot believe I did not recognize you in the play. I wish I'd known to look for you!! It did not even register that you'd mentioned it....I did not know we were going until Falcon Days...it was such a treat. The production was AMAZING.

I don't care much for talking on the phone. It's a little better if I can talk to a friend I haven't heard from in a while. :P

    Good thought at the end.

I'm not sure you can squeeze all that into one week. :) Good luck on the business! I love PC products, but they haven't quite made it over here. (Maybe that's a good thing!)

My dear Enigma. How I love you so! It is true, that the world does not value morbidness as you do, but you already know that. I treasure you just the same, even if you do love frowning faces and movies like Gladiator. =)

Time for an update

Well, now that its Spring 2010 I think its about time for a new post.
Facebook is taking over pleonast. It's the sad truth. =/
Life is busy and crazy for me. Spring semester finds me with many, many, many obligations, opportunities, and activities that I am staying very involved in. I am in the Spring Musical (The Scarlet Pimpernell!) and we are having our performances next weekend. It's going to be so morbid and so cool. I don't know how long it is going to take to fully get the music out of my head. I've song some songs nearly 50 times I'm sure and they are such catchy and thrilling lyrics/tunes.
This is my last semester at FC and then I will be all done with school. Wow. It's. Crazy. After that, I am planning to be home for the summer and Lordwilling will be getting married on August 2nd in Arizona and moving to New Mexico.
My family is all doing well. They are happily in Arizona, staying busy with school and the congregation, etc. Hopefully next month they will be moving into a new house in the same general area. (Yay for another move!)
I hope all are well. Maybe....haha.... I can update more frequently and convert some of my random facebook notions to pleonast as well.
Have a happy Wednesday everyone!
Brittany

This post amused me. "So morbid and so cool?" LOL. You use "Lordwilling" as a single word. LOL. Have fun!!! :-)

So glad to see this post! I've been missing you! I, too, find myself with so many things to do. Just this week I had four papers to either write or revise plus two tests and two pop quizes among sooo many other things. Hope your busy schedule will be good to you! =)

That's so exciting that you are in a play! I wish I could be there to see it! and I am still totally excited about your wedding! yay!

I love The Scarlet Pimpernel. I just watched it today, actually. I have read the book a trillion times and now I've seen two movies. I think the old Jane Seymour one was my favorite as a child, but this BBC one was good, too. It did require a bit of forwarding, though...And, I really detest the storming of the Bastille (in history and movies). Really, it does nothing for me when it comes to empathy...little justice was served in that bloodbath.

My neice is getting married in August, too! Have a wonderful time preparing!

I LOVE the SP! Absolutely my favorite book and movie. My favorite is the Seymour version also. I didn't like Elizabeth Montgomery (I think that is her name.) in the BBC one. The musical was fun, too. I saw it while it toured in PA. Have a great time!

Thoughts or comments on this quotation:

"'Man the toolmaker' is a misleading piece of flattery. 'Man the weapon-maker and skull-basher' might be a more accurate description, both of early man and twentieth-century man. Who knows whether modern man is going to use atomic power to save lives peaceably or to decimate the human race in war? And who knows whether early man's 'tools' saved more lives in time of peace than they destroyed in times of anger?" Alan Hayward

Something to think about I guess...
  • engelishgentleman
Rather pessimistic...but not without insight...it reminds me of Ecc. 7:29, and of the broader Biblical lesson that man can misuse any blessing God gives...

We wage war to have peace because all people are too selfish to live in harmony. There will never be a fanciful Startrek world where everyone works togather for the good of human kind.

Tomorrow I have a massave anatomy test with between 1 and 2 hundred chemistry terms to remember. So, much like a couple of weeks ago when I had an anatomy quiz (having memorized between 1 and 2 hundred terms), I have to eat, sleep, and breath anatomy in every spare moment. In fact, I've had a few times where a latin anatomy body term would come to me before the "real" one. "No, its not my antebrachial its just my forearm." This is a frustrating practice but a very good concept. We need to have the bible so much on our minds that it comes to us before anything else does and lasts longer than anything else does.
And so:
"These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." Deut. 6: 6-9.

" But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night." Ps. 1:2

"I meditate on your precepts
and consider your ways." Ps. 119:15

etc. etc. etc. This is a huge emphasis. So this week, try to meditate on the Lord and spiritual things and you'll be amazed at how much those things are the first things to come to your mind in situations where you need it to be that way.

And now back to my anatomy...
