Well, my income tax refund check arrived in the mail today! Now I just wish I had a bank account so I could deposit it. But alas, I can't get a bank account without a LA driver's license. I can't get a LA driver's license without my birth certificate. Which is what I'm currently waiting on. Hopefully that will arrive in a few days, and I can get all of that sorted out.
There's so much I need to get done in the near future. The stress of the move isn't over yet.
Thanks for the birthday wishes. This is the first birthday I've had that bothered me (only 3 years left in my 20's!?), so they're very much appreciated.
I made it to Springhill and managed to get the truck unloaded. I'm tired.
Well, I'm sitting in the hotel room in Ranger. The house is empty, the truck is loaded, and we roll out of town first thing in the morning, Lord willing. As usual (unfortunately), I'm a nervous wreck right now. And tomorrow is going to be another long day.
I think I've solved the problem I had with how I was going to fit all my furniture into the truck. I realized I wasn't really thinking three dimensionally. It was a "the gate is down" sort of issue.
Well, what was my office is now cleaned and closed. The master bedroom, master closet (the size of another room), master bathroom, and the middle bedroom/office are emptied, clean, and closed off. I'm planning on finishing cleaning the kitchen this afternoon. My mattress is now laying on the floor of the dining half of the greatroom.
The title for my C50 arrived today! Which means it is now fully paid for and mine! This is awesome.
My parents are coming up tomorrow and helping me move. I have awesome parents. I know I've stated that before, but I think it may have been a while.
I have roughly 1/4 of the house empty, clean, and closed off. I spent a good portion of the day on the phone with the utility companies getting services disconnected. I spent more time getting a phone line and Internet in Springhill (for once, I won't have dial-up...how sweet is that?). I still need to schedule the water to be turned off, get my insurance changed, and my mail forwarded. And probably a few other things I'm forgetting at the moment, but fortunately I have a list made up in the other room. One week left before I roll out of town!
Also, as of yesterday I am having to tighten my belt another notch. The weight loss continues!
Alan here in Ranger will be having his 6th surgery to remove cancer this Saturday. He has some form of cancer that appears all over the place, and in this instance they will be removing it from one of his lungs (if I understand properly). Prayer on his behalf would be appreciated, I'm sure.
