Just a thought...

Many a times i hear something i have heard all my life and think nothing special of it. Yet tonight, we sang the song 'Let the Beauty of Jesus be Be Seen' and something about that song tonight left me thinking alot about my life. The second verse goes,

"When somebody has been so unkind to you, some word spoken that pierces you thru and thru, think how He was beguiled, spat upon and reviled. Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in you."

How many times in life do we feel that its just to hard or we cant do this any more? I dont know how many times i have heard that phrase "its too hard!" at school. Or when someone gets into a fight, their excuse is "i just couldnt take it anymore, so i just snapped," Or when that preppy girl walks into class complaining how her bff stole her boy friend and says how things just arn't fair. "Why is everything always so hard for me?!?!"

We as Christains are not promised and easy life with no tempations. In fact, its the opposite. People are going to ridicule, poke-fun of, and mock us day after day for being a Christain. Yet think back to Christ. If we think we had it hard, think again. Just like the song says, he was beguiled, spat upon and reviled. Christ did sooooo much for us, and yet sometimes in my personal life i forget all that he suffered for me.

Your friends might talk bad about you behind your back. And of course it will hurt. They might say stuff that is hard to forget. What people say will pierce you. and in that moment is when it is hardest to forgive and move on. think back to Jesus for a moment. Think about all that things that was done to Him. Yet he didnt do a thing. He didnt call 10,000 angels. instead he says forgive them.

I feel this way sometimes. Im often hurt by people, family, classmates, etc. And its hard sometimes to be a Beacon to the world and forgive and love them. Just thinking back to Christ and what he suffered gives me sooooo much strength and encouragement. Forgiving others isnt an easy thing to do sometimes. But it is something we should do. For we need to forgive others just as He has forgiven us. So next time you are put in a situation where you are hurt by others, think about Christ; all the things He has done for us and the example He set. We serve an AWSOME God!

Just got back from Indiana FC kamp and it was amazing this year. its hard to compare it to last year, cause it was sooo different. but i would have to say last year was a little bit better. all in all, i had a wonderfull time. thank you to everyone that was there. it has been such an encouragement to me to see soooo many young christains striving to serve God with all their hearts. lets keep it up guys and let us keep this fire burning inside of us!

I could post all night just about kamp, but i'll save u the trouble. i cant wait til kennessee. for those of u who dont know, im on KO this year. i know last year i complained alot about kamp K, but i realized kamp is however u make it to be. u can tell yourself "its going to be a very uplifting and edyifying time this year", or u can just be indifferent about it. so im looking foward and preparing myself for kamp K in a couple of weeks.

In other news, ive pretty much been sleeping ever sicne i got home. i did go see a movie friday night, and then i mowed a yard today. plus we had a home bible study so ive been fairly busy since i got home. i will be leaving tomorrow for WV for a week to see family. it should be fun. just wish i could stay home for a while.

But as for some final thoughts, let us all be doing out best to serve the Lord everyday of our lives. The least God deserves is to be #1 in our lives. let us work for Him. let us tell others about His word. And let us always live a life in services to Him. so whatever u may do in your life, do it for the Lord. He receives ALL the credit. He will be our rock, our fortress, and He is the source of all power. "For I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Remember this all summer long and may everybody have a great day!

"In all that you do, do it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, and not for man." Col. 3:23

You'll have to tell me how Kamp Kennessee goes this year. I'm really considering going to an out-of-state camp next year as well as Indiana camp, and I'm looking at my options. I agree that last week was different from last year's camp, but I think it was probably more encouraging to me this year. Thanks for the thoughts, and have a good time in WV!

school is out. been out for a week now. doesnt really feel like a summer because i have been at soccer conditioning ever since school let out. but hey, at least no more classes. nothing much really going on other than that. just ready for kamp in 9 or so days. I CANT WAIT!!!! for those going to Indian kamp, im on Phi Sig. this year is going to be awsome. other big news: got my liscense today! i barely passed. the lady marked me off cause i didnt turn my head over my left shoulder when i backed up. i looked over my right instead. blah. but none the less, i got it. again, cant wait til kamp and i hope everyone has a good day!

Probably one the best and worse places to be in is when you are feeling like you are indestructible, When you feel like everything is going your way, When school is a piece of cake, When you are getting along with your friends so well, When there is no drama. And when you are feeling that high and mighty, you start become luke-warm. You are just at a standstill. There is no going forwards and no going backwards.

The reason I mention this is because of the realization I received today. My life has been pretty smooth lately (minus a few lows here and there). And I found myself blending in or become more tolerant towards worldly things. It was becoming easier to call this world “my home”. Yet today I saw this lady who had a child who couldn’t even barely walk, let alone talk. The lady, instead of caring for the child lovingly, uttered profanity at the infant. It mad me sooooo mad, yet I didn’t know what to do. And that’s when I realized what a horrible place we live in. It’s Satan’s home court. There is so much sin around me that it is hard to remain pure in this wicked and perverse generation. Yet with God’s strength, it’s possible to overcome anything. The song “This World is Not My Home” applies and means more to me than it ever did, and I hope you can say the same about yourself.
