So, have you ever noticed how everyone is looking around for love? Children desperately demand the love of their parents, young adults begin to search for their significant other - in an attempt to find love, and older people cling to a visitor who comes and tells them they that they are still loved. Its all over the media, in the movies we watch and in the songs we hear. And when its gone, we go looking for it wondering what has happened. There is a search for love, and I think you can see that most poignantly displayed in the actions of an abused and neglected child who is longing for it. And yet, don't we all need love just as much as that abused child? We just don't always realize it as strongly because we have it and don't feel that ache. Its quite clear though that there is a universal need for this part of our lives to be filled... and that is because God IS love. Every person, whether they choose to acknowledge Him as God or not, is in search of God. They may not realize it, and they may deny His very existence, but the very fact that each person in the world craves love makes clear the fact that they are craving the Lord.. And so, as you see the desperate needs, insecurities and desires of those around you to have their need for love filled in their lives, take the time to point them to God... for He is love.

so true, and even tho we think we find 'love' in other things, we will never truly find it in anything but Him

If you had to sum up your purpose in life in one sentence, what would it be?

    My purpose in life....hmmmm....
To raise godly children who fear the Lord but love him even more while being my husband's biggest source of strength and love in "this" life and doing that all with my steadfast focus on Him!

That is what I felt like after going to Guatemala at the beginning of the summer. I can't wait to go back! I have also wanted to visit the DR very badly since there are several Christians at our congregation that claim it as their native home. Glad all went well!

1. FERENCZE BONFIRE: November 27
Please dress warmly, bring a snack and a drink, and invite anyone you think would like to come!

2. YEAR END STUDIES: December 29, 30, 31. Those are the dates that Gary will be teaching John in Indiana. If you want to come and are from anywhere in the North east area, try and let me know and we will see what we can work out as far as rides. We took a van and a car last year, and will probably do something similar again this year.

Here's a 98%-sure-we're-coming-RSVP for #1. Catherine, Nathan Smelser, and myself will be there Friday night.

Just snacks? Not like a crockpot of chili or more meal-ish type foods? Just checking. :)
