Prayers for little AJ
**Update: AJ's surgery went well on Wednesday. Praise God!! They're hoping he may be able to come home as early as next week!
------
Our friends, Andrew & Katie Buie are in need of prayers. Andrew was one of Elijah's roommates in college and the Buies have been very good friends of ours for years now.
Andrew & Katie welcomed their first child, AJ, into the world on Thursday morning. He was 1 week late. Katie had a healthy pregnancy, but after he was delivered his lips started turning blue and they couldn't get his oxygen levels up.
They figured out the basic problem seemed to be that due to a serious valve problem within his heart, unoxygenated blood was mingling with oxygenated blood, thus causing his overall blood supply to be very low on oxygen. They have been told it is a birth defect. AJ was transferred to UAB hospital. Katie is in a different hospital but is hoping to be released today.
Yesterday they did a balloon treatment to create better blood flow within AJ's heart. The plan is to do major open heart surgery sometime next week - hopefully Monday.
Prayer is so powerful. What a relief to know it's all in God's hands!

Hey girl! I'm glad you found me! I read your post below and just had to say congrats on the weightloss. I lost 30 pounds last year too through ...diet and exercise...! and I know exactly how hard you worked. You look amazing! -
How scary! I will pray for them! Keep us posted! -
He is pretty cuddly most of the time! :) I remember your beautiful white cat - that's amazing how long she's lived! (Despite Elijah's heartlessness!) And I agree with Rosie - you look beautiful! Hope all will be ok with your friend's little one! -
Bummer! We'll miss seeing you but you will get to see the girls and their guys. Y'all should plan on getting a bite to eat with them after services. Let me know if that's doable and I'll tell the girls. -
Hey! On FB I told you May 2, but it's May 9th. The one on the 2nd is in Knoxville... -
Ha! I figured, but just thought I'd throw it out there just in case by some miracle you were free! ;) -
I didn't know you knew Leah! Congrats to you too, then =). At Cason Lane, it's Emily, Tara, Layla and Julie. -
Eek! Sorry, I told Jason about it, and totally forgot to respond to you!! I think Monday would work for us...let me know! We can meet somwhere halfway...wherever that would be!! :) Or we can come your way, since neither of us will be working next week...just packing! But, I'm almost done. -
it's in a town called Americus in Sumter Co. -
Do you not have super targets down there? the deal is still good until Saturday I think... and they'll apparently let you print as many coupons as you want :) I'm starting to think I should have printed more, but oh well!
