White is Black and Black is Black

According to news reports, Barak Obama is black. Not half black or half white. Apparently the blackness obliterates all traces of whiteness in an inter-racial birth. Look at Tiger Woods. He's not half Asian, half Black. No sir, he's just Black. It just brings to mind the fact that the people who do the most racial stirring are located in the Black community. The same people who scream that we have to ignore the color of a person's skin and see what's inside are also the first people to cry racism the moment a person's character is called into question.
I'm so sick of people bringing up a person's skin color. There is literally no difference between myself and a darker skinned person other than the pigmentation of our skin. We both have the same emotions and we both bleed red. We all have the chance to hear the Gospel. We all have the chance to be saved. And most importantly, we all have the chance to meet again in Heaven. So who really cares about all of this foolishness that is continually perpetrated upon us by the media and extremist organizations? We shouldn't.

A multiplayer version of MYST?? I've GOT to check that out! By the way, I didn't know you were white...why didn't you tell me? If that's the case, then where'd you get those funky dancin' skills from?

The media is the biggest problem. If people were smart, they would just ignore it. But they don't. They thrive on it and make it personal for themselves, when it has NOTHING to do with them. Kinda like the whole slavery thing. What in the world has slavery got to do with anyone living in this country in this century? NOTHING. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I have to type that in all caps. We are not a slave nation. No one in this country that is still alive ever served as a slave. Except for the fact that they are slaves to the media and the NAACP. How can a whole race of people call themselves smart, when they have an organization telling them what to think?

Your son's named Justin? What's his middle name? The reason I'm asking, is that we're expecting another child in June of next year. Yes, that's right. You heard right. Anyway, we picked out two names. I had not noticed your son's name on this page, before. I guess I'm not the most observant person in the world. Anyway, we chose Justin Cole if it's a boy and Allison Marie if it's a girl.

Help my friend!

http://www.conanchronicles.com/contest.php

Go here and vote for Xiahphan. He has the best video. The Leoj guy is a jerk who got all of his friends and family, along with people he knows off of myspace to vote for him. He used to be associated with us but we have nothing to do with him anymore because of reasons I prefer not to get into on here. The winning prize is a 300 dollar video card. Xiah was in a big lead before Leoj admitted that he started recruiting votes just so he could win and deny Xiah the rightful win.

An update: Leoj was using proxies to vote for himself over and over again. We figured it out when there were an additional 40 votes on this side last night from 10:30PM to 9:00AM.

Outsourcing

How many of you are tired of not being able to understand Customer Service Reps when you call big companies. It frustrates me so badly that sometimes I'll refuse to deal with a company because they don't care about me enough to offer customer service that I can understand. Don't get me started about the "press one for English or two for Spanish". Get a life and learn the language. You live in the USA now. I don't want my anthem sung in Spanish either. I'm fed up with feeling like I'm the bad guy as a legal citizen of this country. If I got even half of the tax breaks that immigrants do, I'd be doing well.

LOL!!! I just read what you wrote about me being "smokin' in that suit"...you're too funny dude!

I hear ya... In Ca, we have a LOT of non-English speaking people. It is VERY VERY frustrating. Seriously, I understand that they work hard to be in this country, but I truly don't understand why we don't enforce an English class on everyone with a citizenship. Of course, we have a lot of illegals too. I'm tire of people snearing and laughing at me, when I ask questions like, "where's the restroom?" and they say, "no speak-a en English". Come on, you at least learned that sentence, why can't you learn anything other than that??? It's hard.

Oh...some of the outsourcing is in America...even if they don't speak English. Guess you've figured out my point. ;) And another thing....why in the world would you hire someone for Customer Service, who can't speak English well, and this is for serving Americans? too funny.

Yeah. It's like hiring someone to be a truck driver, but they just *barely* know how to drive.

I use 1&1 for my webspace & they recently outsourced to India. So now, every time I call & talk w/ someone from tech support, it sounds like I'm talking to Abu from the Simpsons (the guy that runs the Quicky Mart) LOL

I completely agree!! I get tired of all the language stuff, too! Although, around here, I'd settle if someone who works at Walmart was friendly. =-)

Tech

A trend I've noticed lately is that technology has been slowing down somewhat over the past year. I remember over the years how AMD, Intel, ATI and nVidia have influenced the innovation and deployment of new technology in both hardware and software arenas. These companies were so competitive that it was rarely longer than a few months before something innovative was released suddenly (and to the chagrin of competitors) on the market, forcing a ramp-up of development and implementation.

Recently it seems that these same companies, who for years now have set a pace of benchmarked progressions, now suddenly are plagued with inconsistent release dates, insufficient supply and a growing trend of releasing technology that doesn't merit the excitement of yesteryear in regards to advances in their respective fields.

Whatever happened to solid innovation and high performance combined with marketable pricing that attracted the buyer and forced competitors to push the envelop in the R & D departments?
I suspect it boils down to a slowing market. Prices have fluctuated for raw materials and the market hasn't been overly kind to some of the manufacturers, forcing them to make cutbacks.

These companies need to respond by leaving that comfort zone of having "safe" products to release and simply pull out the stoppers and show us what they're made of. Until then, I'll upgrade only when prices have dropped significantly for several generations of technology that barely outperforms the gear I have now.

I think the gas prices are a prime suspect. The technology has slowed down, because the cost of materials fluctuates. The material cost is adjusted to compensate for the shipping costs. It costs more to ship something, because the truck drivers are having to pay so much for gas (this includes diesel). The gas cost is passed on from the materials supplier to the manufacturer. Then, the manufacturer must pay more shipping costs (more gas) and they pass that cost over to the distributor. Then, they must ship to the stores, so they pass that cost over to the store. Then, they pass it on to us, the consumer. So, here we are paying high prices for everything, when it boils down to buying gas. When we buy anything, we're buying gas for the stuff to come to us. If we figured it, we're probably buying twice the gas we use in our car. We're buying gas for the truck drivers. It's bad, isn't it?

With each level of new technology, it seems as though the investment required to produce it in man-hours in also increasing. I think, just as with the industrial revolution, the silicon revolution is going to flatten out in terms of development/progress. Gotta go!
