If you are ever in the LA area - this has to be on your to do list. It was FANTASTIC. Beautiful architecture, Restful gardens, Wonderful museums on the top of a mountain looking towards the ocean to the west and the mountains to the east.

In and Out burger... check! Been there, done that, thanks to my Californian brother. Getty Center.... must see. Sounds like I know where I'm going to ask my son in San Diego to take me next. Having looked it up now, I think it's a must-see for me, too.

Happy New Year, Alyssa! If you see your parents, hug them for me.... I don't know why Fort Worth seems so far away.... I haven't been over there for years, to my shame.

In and Out

Well - one week down in LA. It was very busy and I missed the family, but it is an interesting project. So it is good to be home for the weekend. The team I am working with is good so that makes for a pleasant work environment.

One of the highlights of the week was my first In-and-Out burger. If you have experienced it you know what I mean. There are only about 10 items total on the menu. No special orders. I had the cheeseburger, fries, and a strawberry shake. The burger has a thousand island like spread, onions, tomatoes, lettuce and of course meat. Very fresh ingredients.

Well two more days and I'm back to CA again. Keep praying for all of us.

I have never had an In-and-Out burger. Is it your sister that is always talking about them because I have heard of them before?

  • derbydi
Aren't they yummy?! Enjoy your weekend home!

You know...Jack-in-the-Box used to have thousand island on all of their burgers. They called it "secret sauce" and they would not let you have mayo or mustard.

An In-and-Out burger? I'm jealous. Nope, always wanted to try. Never have

Actually you can order many different things on your In-and-Out burger. Ask them for grilled onions. Go to their web-site and you'll see what all is available. Also, look on the bottom of your cup and on the inside of your burger and fries sleeve. You'll find a scripture reference.

Have you ever uttered a taradiddle? - or in other words LIED!

I learned this fantastic phrase yesterday while doing the USA Today crossword on the way home. I'm thinking of incorporating it into my regular vocabulary. BTW - it is 4 letters; starts with __ - coming tomorrow. If you know, try not to just shout out the answers to give others a chance to figure it out.
  • the_yn
i know...i know...and i know that there is no way that taradiddle is a real word...firefox doesn't even recognize it as real.

I love substituting...no take home work! ha Sometime the teachers actually LET me teach the lesson for the day, which is always enjoyable for me. Math classes would be difficult for me...so "they" know to have something else! I now YOU must be an excellent teacher...and to adults; that's completely different perspective!

I would hope never to be found taradiddling!

I like symmetry

I had to have the same avatar on pleo and facebook. What does that say about me? Be kind :)
  • parker1000
Some people like continuity. Others like variety. I guess it says you are of the "continuity" type. Or not. I shall refrain from playing the amateur shrink any longer. :)

  • theaunt
It says you like the picture. On Facebook I like to have a picture with my husband and there are few that I like so the one I have on Facebook will be their a while. I think on Pleo I feel like I'm with friends and family who know I'm married, so I have branched out with a solo shot.

It could mean that you don't subject yourself to photo ops often. I hope to stay out of the camera's eye for a while longer.

i think the fact that you are worried about what it says about you, says more about you than the avatar thing. haha

I love the picture. Very few of us have had the privilege to be photographed with Ernest Hemingway !!

Off to Chicago again

Headed out to Chicago again this afternoon - but this time family is going with me. YAY! Does anyone know where the closest church to downtown Chicago is?
  • mropolo
To get to the other side. ...oh wait, that is the answer to "why did the chicken cross the road?" I don't know the answer to yer question, sorry.
