Not good at consistancy.

I'm not even going to count how many months. Daniel go ahead since you corrected me on my last post :)

Rugrat numero dos is on the way. Laurie is 8.5 months along, and healthy. It's going to be another girl, and we have yet to pick a name. We've been playing with the name Macey Elaine, but Laurie isn't sure. She doesn't think Macey is a good name for an adult lady. I think it is. No biggy. Right now she is formally known as Baby Sister and Abby hugs her (Laurie's tummy) every night and tells her she loves her. Abby is going to be 3 on 6/21, and Baby Sister is due on 6/30. Feel free to weigh in on the name choice.

Mom and dad have started a part time side job of selling coffee and tea through the intarweb. (www.lotajava.com) There one price shipping no matter the size of the order. I wasn't just a coffee coniseur before they started this. I was a one cup a morning guy, and the world didn't stop if I missed it. I'm starting to truely enjoy it now. I'm very impressed with the quality of the product and the prices are about what you would find for Folders in a store. I strongly encourage you give it a go if you like coffee and tea. No, I don't get a comission. Let them know you're a friend of mine when you order. It won't get you anything, but I'd like to know.

Wow, it's been a while!

I am the prodigal 'naster returned to place a post. Big news, I've got a second child on the way. Laurie is 2.5 months along now. It is amazing how different she is from the first pregnancy. With Abby, she stayed in the bathroom, head down, for about 5-6 months. This time she is staying on the couch, rump down, from sheer exhaustion. Poor Abby is brimming over with energy because Laurie doesn't ahve the go out with her, and by the time I get home it is dark. That just means Abby gets more tickle wresting. The brighter side, other than Laurie not being sick, is that she is craving Chinese and Japanese foods. We've had sushi about every third night for two months, and yes Laurie goes easy on the raw stuff. An interesting thing from last night happened. We met a member of the church, who is the banker that finance the Japanese restaraunt, for sushi. The owner brought out a complimentary dish, and wouldn't tell us what it was. I like to explore the world with my tummy, so I snarfed it and when I survived Laure and the friend joined in. We found out later it was an octopus dish, ane we talked all through the meal how we'd never try any octopus sushi! It was sooo good.

Congrats!! I've not tried octopus sushi myself. My first time with sushi I got a big piece of wasabi that shot right up one nostril and down the other.

Swingin' hammers again.

I'm building a deck. A friend that works at a lumber yard was able to leagally help me get enough wood to build a 12x28 deck for $350. That is about 1/4 of full price. Love being a patient tight-wad. This time Laurie is helping me when Abby is taking naps. She has gone from not a clue, to driving a mean nail in about 4 hours of working with me, plus I'm learning patience. :) It's all good. The sad thing is that I'm looking forward to less grass and dirt tracking into the house since there was only a 3x3 concrete stoop before.
I'm realizing that I miss the days of being a construction worker. I'm the exact oposite personality of a desk jockey, yet I find myself riding the swivel based pony, but there ain't no financial security in swingin' hammers. That dumbfounds me since it is a highly skilled job if you are any good at it. If I could I'd be out there doing it or some other outdoor oriented job and filling in that last piece of loving my job dream.
I've got an idea cooking in my head for my own business dealing with camping, hiking, biking, paddling, fishing stuff and a back porch dining area witch serves my own homemade BBQ. You can ask Tu_madre for a BBQ reference on me. If you've ever seen Sweet Home Alabama in the movies think of Jake's glass shop, only with all manner of redneckery for sale instead of glass. I would make it a nice outdoorsman's store. I'm just to chicken to take the plunge with family to take down with me if it didn't work.
Any who, enough rambling of day dreams.

All is well

Merry Christmas to everyone. I haven't posted in a while, so hear goes.
Work is still going well. This job has added security that I've never had before. It is wierd not to worry as much as I used to. Abby is growing a like a weed. She just turned 18 months yesterday, She is using new words every day, and has become very active. If you are having touble sleeping at night, have a kid. You'll be to tired to make it past 9pm at night.
I'm off work for a couple of days right now and I'm at the in-laws' in Lousianna. This state is so backward. The politicians will stab you in the back and you go to the gang members for protection. What do you expect from a state in which the inhabitants will eat anything that walks by.

Get ready to laugh

I'm in the final stages of construction on the out-building. I'm putting up boards to trim out the exterior of the building to frame windows and hide seams in the wall. It looks pretty good. I've had a kid from church helping hold boards while I hit my fing.....nails in. (I'm missing two finger nails right now thanks to my hammer that won't aim itself). One side of the builing is about 10 ft from the ground due to slope of the land. I gave the kid, who is about a foot and a half shorter, the ladder and I got creative. I got my hand-dolly and leaned the front of it against the building so that it was on the scoop part and the wheels were off the ground. It was amazingly sturdy. I nailed the wood up and started to come down. I had one foot on the ground and the stupid dolly fell and threw my balance. I landded on my feet, but had to take a step backwards to stop my momentum. The supid wheel-barrow was behind me, and I fell over it. A screw in it ripped the back of my britches and drawls open so that the sun shone where it normally wouldn't and gouged a descent scratch in my buns-o-steel. The kid laughed. After I medicated the open wound on my hiny, I did to. When his mom came and got him he had pleasure in telling the story, after she followed me to the back yard and I forgot my pants were ripped open a little. Moral: Ingenuity is great, but clutter will kick your but every time, and the story will always get out.
