today, while i was having a math lesson with elias, avery quietly said, "i want to do homeschool."
i thought that was super sweet! i ask him occasionally if he wants to do school while i'm working with elias and he has always said no. so, he's ready. and on his own time and terms. he did 9 pages in his workbook and was so proud!

i've been complaining to jesse about these 6 pounds that have been hanging around since christmas. haven't tried to do anything about it, thinking they'll work themselves off when the weather is nice. you know, working in the garden and going for walks again. i was attacked by a stomach bug yesterday and got rid of 5 of them! is losing weight ever fun? might as well do it in one fell swoop. here's to keeping them off!
after witnessing me lay around all day long, elias said before bed, "daddy... i'm really worried about mama." in fact, he said he felt bad by the end of the day and this morning said he felt worse. but after about an hour of being awake and me telling him several times about how much better i feel today, he's "not sick anymore!" such a sweet and caring heart!
oatmeal, toast, rice, broth, banana, water. nothing else sounds good yet!
so happy to be working in my garden again!!!

we are having a gospel meeting with curtis pope. so far, excellent!
on the way to worship tonight, i made an observation that the high school by our subdivision was playing a baseball game. jesse politely responded with an "oh really?" or something like that. then on the way home, all the stadium lights were still on and i said, "i cannot BELIEVE that they are playing baseball games on a wednesday night!" to which jesse replied, "it's monday." oh. right. never mind, then.
also, tonight, we sang "our God he is alive." elias (6) was the last one to finish singing. his final note was SO loud, SO off-key, and so.... sweet. that was our first song, and he continued singing with all his heart for the rest of the selections. kept a smile on my face, and those around us!
